I was thinking of sharing some of my flower pictures with you and I thought what a better day then May Day! What are your visions of May Day? This picture is what I always thought May Day was all about. Then I looked it up and found out that it means a whole lot of things to different people.
May 1st, often called May Day, just might have more holidays than any other day of the year. It's a celebration of Spring. It's a day of political protests. It's a neopagan festival, a saint's feast day, and a day for organized labor. In many countries, it is a national holiday. (source)
Do you remember me talking about the Ranunculus we didn't see in Carlsbad, CA last month? At that time I bought a bouquet and took pictures of them. Well when we went to Costco just before Easter they had a several beautiful bouquets of them and of course I had to have one. I can stare at these all day long. Anyway I thought I would share them with you for May Day.
I think I might have to get a canvas made!

They are just lovely. Happy May Day!
In our house May 1st is the day my parents got married, which is more important than spring, socialism or anything else!
Do you know you probably can get ranunculus plants to put in your garden, so you can have the flowers for a long time? You might need seeds for them though...

I had some lovely Ranunculus in my deck baskets but the storms of the last couple of week finally took their toll on them. They were so pretty! I love your pinks! Mine were white.

When I was a kid living in the mid-West, we used to make construction paper baskets, fill them with picked dandelions, leave them on the neighbors' porches, rings their doorbells and run. That was our version of a May Day celebration. Martha Stewart did a little bit on Ranunculas the other day and I thought of you! Love your idea of having a canvas made with your beautiful flower pictures!!!
