1. How do you typically react in a sudden, extreme, pressure-filled crisis? Would we want you nearby in an emergency?
I can be a take action person in a crisis but really don't have much experience with it and pray it stays that way. Yes I think you would want to be around me.
2. Caramel apple - caramel sundae - caramel corn - caramel macchiato...of the four, which caramel treat would you choose?
All of the above but because I have to choose one I will say Caramel Apple. Especially a Mrs. Prindables Gourmet Apple.
3. Is there such a thing as destiny? Explain.
I believe being in the right place at the right time can change your destiny but that to me comes from God. I have not seen many things in my life happen where I haven't seen the hand of God there. I do believe that prayer can change your destiny too.
4. What's your favorite piece of furniture? I'm referring to something currently in your possession as opposed to something on your wish list.
I am going to say my Singer Sewing Machine No.66 which belonged to my grandfather who was a Tailor. I even have the instruction booklet and an old wooden ironing board that he used at home.(the machine is inside the cabinet)
5. Wednesday night marks the start of the 2011 Baseball World Series. Did you know? Do you care? Will you be watching? Ever been to a professional baseball game? If you're not an American do you find the title 'World Series' annoying or amusing?
I kinda know but no I do not care. I will not be watching. Yes I have been to several professional games and had a great time.
6. A sound that takes me back to my childhood is____________.
All I can think of is the crackling leaves burning at the curb in the Fall. That was years before pollution laws.
7. On average, once you've linked your hodgepodge post to mine how many other participant blogs do you visit? Do you ever come back to the Hodgepodge later in the day or even the day after to read posts?
I read at least 15+ each week. No I do not come back later in the day. I have at least 50 other posts that I read each day on top of the 15+.
8. Insert your own random thought here. (thought this was cute)
Two elderly women were out driving in a large car - both could barely see over the dashboard. As they were cruising along, they came to major cross road. The stop light was red, but they just went on through.
The woman in the passenger seat thought to herself "I must be losing it.
I could have sworn we just went through a red light." After a few more minutes, they came to another major junction and the light was red again.
Again, they went right through. The woman in the passenger seat was almost sure that the light had been red but was really concerned that she was losing it. She was getting nervous.
At the next junction, sure enough, the light was red and they went on through. So, she turned to the other woman and said, "Mildred, did you know that we just ran through three red lights in a row? You could have killed us both!"
Mildred turned to her and said, "Oh! Am I driving?"

Love the sewing machine, does it still work? Does it have the peddles? Way cool! I'm with you on sports and I can not believe how many blogs you go to in a day! Oh my!
I could care less about the world series too. My reaction to emergencies is to handle it in the moment, but then I collapse and sleep and sleep and sleep.
Loved those.
I love a calm person in an emergency.
LOL... on the two little ladies in the car! I believe in God's will for our 'destiny' too and I do believe that God gives us the desires of our heart. Meaning, not that he gives us what we want, but that HE puts those desires there to make us who he wants us to be. I love your grandfather's machine... what a treasure!!!! have a great day!
hahahaha! loved the joke about the two old ladies! made me lol! thanks for sharing!
YEAH!
1. How do you typically react in a sudden, extreme, pressure-filled crisis? Would we want you nearby in an emergency?
I think it would depend on the situation.
2. Caramel apple - caramel sundae - caramel corn - caramel macchiato...of the four, which caramel treat would you choose?
The reason I have gained a little wait is because our grocery store has the carmel apples come in 3 packs and I think I have bought at least 4 packages thru out this month. I was at Super Target yesterday to go get my prescription and the carmel apples were SCREAMING MY NAME! IT WAS TERRIBLE!!!!! I had to ignore them and it was hard.
"HI, MY NAME IS CRYSTAL, AND I AM ADDICTED TO CARMEL APPLES"
3. Is there such a thing as destiny?
I agree 100% with your answer.
4. What's your favorite piece of furniture? I'm referring to something currently in your possession as opposed to something on your wish list.

5. Wednesday night marks the start of the 2011 Baseball World Series. Did you know? Do you care?
I hate sports, I do like watching Diving though which is only on during the olympics, and I usually miss it.
6. A sound that takes me back to my childhood is____________.

7. On average, once you've linked your hodgepodge post to mine how many other participant blogs do you visit? I think I have about 10 but only really read 5 or 6 of them and reply to just a few. I don't go back to look.

I need to re-organize my packing corners in a more orderly fashion.
oh my gosh.. oh my gosh.. i'm gonna be giggling ALL DAY LONG after your joke... thanks so much, i SO needed that today!!!!!!!!!
Your grandmother's sewing machine is beautiful!
Love your joke!
Love your sewing machine! I can remember my mom sewing my clothes on one just like it when I was wee little - it was grandmother's. Unfortunately we didn't hold on to it - like so many other family treasures - but I can still remember the sound of the treadle going up and down as my mom would sew everything I wore in 1st and 2nd grade.
great answers. i love the machine. and caramel anything sounds like heaven. i'm a total mess in a crisis
Oh my. I am STILL laughing at your random thought! I'll definitely have to share that one with my mother! She'll love it!
I love your Singer! My aunt has one that I hope to inherit one day. Although, I hope that's a long, long time from now.
I'm so angry My dad had my great grandmothers singer sewing machine. My step mom doesn't like clutter IF it belongs to someone else, besides all the antiques she owns. She GAVE it away to some lady that was a friend of her mom's that said she would HELP with my wedding. Needless to say the lady SAT on her behind and didn't lift a finger. She actually sat in front of the food and told ppl they could eat until later. Mind you she had a chicken leg in hear hand while turning away my 9mo pregnant best friend. lol sorry venting .. lol
hehe love your funny!
lol. loved the joke....and that singer sewing machine. That is so cool. I've been to Singer Castle....and having learned that he build it out of his love for his wife....I think he was a pretty good guy. Loved reading your answers...all of them.
Momma, and I went out and adopted 3 old graves to take care of, all 3 were babies from 1800's, 2 girls and one boy :) so while there i did a grave sketching on an old grave..
That joke was hysterical!
I seem to be the only one so far who cares about the World Series this year. That's ok, I'm big enough of a fan to make up for all of the rest of you! ha!
I miss burning leaves. :-(
LOL about the joke, Debby! thanks for the laugh!
betty
Very nice Singer! We have one in the shed that my sister-in-law got last summer at a garage sale. The lady gave it to her for free. Drawback is that we live in PA...she lives in Alabama. One of these days.
Thanks for today's random thought! LOL
HA HA HA! I loved that joke and LOLd (I never write that but in this case it is certainly true!) It is good to be back reading your blog again. With that flu knocking me out and just the craziness of life I have missed it. I don't read as many blogs as you do... maybe 15 a week IF THAT! But I always check out yours! I love these and would love to do one but am off to make an imovie for my school blog... (and it's 11pm... sigh)
Good reading! Have a great week. Trish
Oh my Mom had some sewing machines like that one not sure she still has it.. Love Carmel apples.. Would totally want you around if something happened.. Have a great night...
Great answers & I love caramel!!
I usually remain calm unless it is super bad.
Bahahahahah poor Mildred! That was a good one :)
I love that you have your GRANDfather's sewing machine, priceless!! Lucky you!
Love the story at the end! Thanks for visiting me over at Peaceful Divas!
I have never heard of those apples before, but anything with the word "gourmet" in it is usually delicious!
How special that you have that sewing machine. What a wonderful treasure to have in your home.
Thanks for visiting my blog :)
Good jokes are usually good because there is a small grain of truth in them...in this case, I sure can relate more and more with each passing year. Good one!
You totally made me laugh! :) I love a niec afternoon smile!
50 posts a day! Girl you are amazing! I wish I had time to get on here a little more lately...not enough time in the day :)
Most of your answers were just what I would say! Kindred spirits :)
In the UK they still burn leaves...it surprised us at first but its also a scent I associate with childhood so I kinda liked it.
Love the random thought!
Great answer to #3--Prayer does change everything.
That joke made me giggle.
I would vote for the caramel sundae. Which is basically what you get with Ben and Jerry's Karamel Sutra ice cream. Mmmmm.
