1. Are you cooking Christmas dinner? How many will be round your table this year? What are we having?
Well those who visit me often know that I put my foot down last year and invited myself to the Christmas party at my house! That means I am not cooking, we are having the Lou Malnati's Chicago deep dish pizza. I will be making plenty of hor d'oeuvres and there will we plenty of cookies and candies to eat! We are the only family in California so there will be the six of us. Phil who works with Mark might be coming over to join us since he can't go back to the UK, he was just there a few weeks ago. Our pizza's arrived last Wednesday and you would not believe what happened today. We got another box of six pizzas from Mark's brother in Illinois. I really had to work some magic getting them in the freezer!
2. What is one must-have Christmas cookie in your house?
Spritz cookies! I always have to make them. The other must have on Christmas day is the Bohemian Hoska sweet bread that I make.
3. Santa likes a glass of milk with his cookies. Do you? What kind of milk is on tap at your house-skim? almond? soy? full fat (Gasp!)
I don't often do milk and cookies. We usually have 1% in the house. I will buy 2% if the expiration date is later than the 1%.
4. Time magazine recently named their 'Person of the Year' for 2011. This is the person the editors believe had the greatest impact, for better or worse, in the past year. This year they chose 'The Protester'. Your thoughts? Who would you name Person of the Year for 2011?
I don't have any thoughts on this one.
5. December 21st is National Flashlight Day... when was the last time you needed a flashlight and did you know right where to find one?
I think it was to look down the hill, beyond the fence. There was a noise and I wanted to see what it was but never saw anything! Yes I know exactly where to find one.
6. Candy canes...yum or yuck?
I'm not into candy canes that much but I am going to say yum. I don't dislike them.
7. What Christmas carol lyric means the most to you?
Silent Night. I can remember my mother singing it in church when I was a child. She had a beautiful voice. "Sleep in Heavenly Peace"
8. Insert your own random thought here.
I'm speechless! Well not really but I am going to be quiet in the blog world for the next few days. So much to do, so little time.
MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL AND TO ALL A GOOD NIGHT!

I'm going to be nearly speechless. I will still be posting the 12 Pearls of Christmas (because I don't write them) and the pics of my Christmas hats, but not much that takes a lot of time or thought because, as you said....soooo much to do and time is running out!
Blessings to you Debby. No, I never cook. I do not cook. My mum will cook Christmas dinner.
I love the pizza idea so you can enjoy the holiday too!
Merry Christmas to you and your family and I think a lot of us are quiet this week. Like the Pizza idea.
I put my foot down in that I'm not cooking a huge meal two days in a row...we're doing lots of appetizers and an already cooked turkey breast on Christmas Eve.
Merry Christmas!
We're doing appetizers, too ... so DD & I don't have to spend the entire day in the kitchen. ;-)
Glad you got your pizza this year ... with plenty to spare. ha!
I love spritz cookies, too!
Pizza! Awesome.
Hopefully you will be able to put your feet up and enjoy the day without rushing around.
Fun to read those random things about you.
Merry Christmas to you too!! Blessing to you and yours and we will "see" you in the New Year!
That sweet bread looks like a piece of heaven on earth if you want my opinion. And deep dish pizza? When do we show up at your doorstep?!!! Love pizza, I do.
My two separate posts today:
1] New Orleans Conclusion
and
2] WEDNESDAY HODGEPODGE
Hope your day, so far, has been a glorious one.
My immediate family has always done our Christmas celebration/gifts on Christmas Eve since we spend Christmas Day with my inlaws....we've often had unusual items for the meal from grilled shrimp to pizza....this year I'm making a meal and it will only be 3 of us.
Mama Bear
YUM lot's of yummy things going on at your house. And Pizza :). Your freezer sounds like tetris ... lol
You know I love spritz cookies but I suck and making them.
We sang Silent Night last night at Cole's Christmas Concert it was so beautiful!
I like the idea of the pizza. Leaves you time to enjoy the people you are with instead of worrying about the food you are preparing.
Merry Christmas to you and yours!
love ur answers ..it so funny cause our power went out and i used my phone so i didnt even need to think about a flash light ..technology i tell u haha
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you all, Debby. ..Christine
Pretty sure I'll be rather silent as well. Hopefully it just means that we are all completely wrapped up in our families and Christmas joy!
I am coming over for that pizza it is so yummy.. I am the same way not around much this week with tons to do.. Have a great day..
Pizza sounds wonderful any day of the year! Lucky you to have a freezer full of it :)
At our Christmas Eve service at church, we all hold handles in the dark, and sing "Silent Night". It's my favorite part of the night.
Merry Christmas!
*oops! Meant to write "Candles". LOL
National Flashlight Day? What will they think of next? Mmmm... the last time I used a flashlight... It was a couple of weeks ago and we had a terrible wind storm. The lights were flickering and I had a feeling they would be going out. They did, and I fortunately I had my faithful flashlight with me.
Happy Holidays to you Debby!
Loved your answers. Last year we had Tacos for dinner , not sure what we are doing this yr. Pizza does sound good. I'm not a Huge Candy cane fan either.
I think pizza for dinner sounds perfect! Have fun!
Pizza sounds like a wonderful Christmas dinner and I liked your idea of inviting yourself to the party!
Now that my kids have children, we celebrate on Christmas Eve so they can visit in- laws on Christmas day. Then on Christmas day, Hubby and I get together with two couples who do the same thing. Last year I hosted and made spaghetti.
Merry Christmas,
Shawn
Merry Christmas.
I looked up that pizza site and I am going to do that for hubbies birthday!
Love,
sandie
will skip around this one. we drink skim milk, no cookies in the house, I am a cookie holic and we can't have them in the house. also a breadaholic, so that sweet bread is singing my song. no cooking, it is just the two of us, we are eating OUT.
These were fun questions! I don't know if I have any one cookie, but I'm mighty fond of peanut butter kisses :-)
Merry Christmas to you and yours! Enjoy the pizza.
I'll cook, but it will just be me and the kiddos. Still, I always look forward to Christmas.
I love spritz cookies too! My mom makes them every year! <3
