Head on over and join Joyce's W/H!
1. What are three words you would use to describe your 2011?
Blessed, traveled and searching.
2. Do you like shrimp? What's your favorite way to have it prepared?
Yes I do like shrimp but don't eat them often. I like them cold in a shrimp cocktail but will eat them almost any way they are prepared.
3. Is your house de-Christmased? If so when did you tackle that job? If not, when will the decorations come down?
No, absolutely not. Maybe another week or when the mood hits me. I am still enjoying the magic of Christmas.
4. Do you like to watch scary movies?
Usually not but I don't totally turn away from them.
5. Ice skating~sledding~skiing~snowboarding~of the four listed which wintertime activity do you most enjoy?
Well it's been forever on all of these. I am going to say skiing, I really enjoyed the few times I did it.
6. Did you have a childhood hideout? Describe it.
No, none that I can remember.
7. What's a place or space that motivates you?
Well as some of you know Pinterest is pretty motivating! Watching Extreme Clutter motivates me also. It is on Monday evenings on the OWN channel. How can people live that way?
8. Insert your own random thought here.
We had a visit from my husbands uncle on New Year's Day which was fun. He lives in Austin Texas but was in Northern California visiting his daughter and bringing a car home to his son. He drove South to visit with us and we had a wonderful dinner out that evening. He is 82 and so active! I'm not sure I would see myself driving across country alone at 82! I also think we had a visitor yesterday when I got home from bowling. The TV in the family room turned on all by itself, or did it? *cue in the music from Twilight Zone*

Thats a lovely little insight into you. Thanks for sharing.
Hi Debby! I like cold shrimp, too! Of course, it's not bad fried, either...but it's probably not too good for you. UGH! Oh, I am totally hooked on Pinterest! Just wish I had more time to look around!
I have not got the Pinterest bug yet. I hear you to need to get an invite and that seems odd to me. You enjoy your tree as long as you want.
I too have the pinterest bug....loved your answers. Interesting story about the 82 year old uncle. That is quite amazing.
We love shrimp around here. One really great thing about living in the low-country is the fresh shrimp! I'm still de-Christmasing. I don't like this part at all. I tried skiing once. Never again- I never made it off the bunny slope! LOL
I am still resisting the Pinterest bug ... the last thing I need is something that will tie me to the computer even longer. ;-) I spend plenty of time as it is playing Words with Friends, blogging/reading blogs and checking up on friends and family on Facebook. ;-)
I love Pinterest...I don't find myself wasting a lot of time there. I browse, pin some things I'd like to try or just like period : ) and move on. It has really inspired me to try a lot of new things.
Have a great day!
We are not good at winter sports but love sledding and tubing. So much fun for the entire family. It's great you are still enjoying the magic of Christmas, I think if I had all your decorations I would be still as well!
So glad you had the chance to visit with the hub's uncle when he was nearby! I love driving long trips by myself, but probably not at 82!
You and your Christmas love are so cute!
I enjoy these little question and answer blog posts. My best friend and I used to have a little hideout under a small tree with low branches in her parent's back yard. Reading your post brought back a good memory!
i can't see myself driving across the country at 53! good for uncle. yeah pinterest is soooo fun.
Pinterest = ADDICTION! lol
I love shrimp, but deep-fried with tarter sauce....YUMMM!
I wish I could leave my tree up all year. I tried to last year, but they made me take it down in March! lol
Blessings~
Laura
There are two things about living in Florida that I thought about when I read this....I eat fresh, fried shrimp and LOVE them......we'd have to fine some other winter sport! :)
I home I'm still active in my 80's but if my mama is any indication I probably won't be. :(
Wow! I hope I'm that sharp at 82...although I'm not sure I would drive across the country now alone. lol
I agree...Pinterest is pretty inspiring. I did a couple of things from there for the holidays.
Loved your answers & I totally love Pinterest. I don't like scary movies either. I hope I'm still active when I get older. My Grandma was up until she was 90 so I know there is Hope.
Have a great day.
That is so cool that your uncle drove cross country at 82. Blessed! And Pinterest... oh my gosh! I love Love LOVE it! I should of put that down as something that motivates me. I see all these cool things I would like to try. lol Enjoyed your answers!
until next time... nel
Yay for active older adults! I don't see myself as one, but I certainly admire those who are!
Enjoy that Christmas decor as long as you like...we have to wait another eleven months to see it again! (I know you love it as much as I do!)
I have de-Christmased, I do like to watch scary movies sometimes.I like Shrimp but I don't cook it. I will eat it out. This year has been Blessed.
I love shrimp too.. Oh how scary about the t.v. that is pretty crazy.. Love your new blog design..
Wow, driving at 82 and that far, that is amazing!
How neat with that your family visitor! He is adventurous to travel alone driving in winter! Good for him though! That was weird about the TV. Our old house up in the Murrieta area, the same thing would happen (the TV would turn on by itself, but not Twlight Show music, whatever was on the channel). We finally determined it had to be something from one of the neighbors with what they were doing with their cable box or something because after they moved, we didn't have any other problems with it.
Good for you for keeping the Christmas magic so long this year! Of course the weather is just gorgeous and so spring or summer like, but I'll take it for sure!
betty
I love shrimp. I don't get to eat it alot because we live in beef country.
I enjoy Pinterest too!
Yes, I almost want to think that Extreme Clutter and Hoarders is staged. Surely, surely folks really do NOT live that way. It makes my skin crawl.
Blessings to you this day! Oh, love your cupcakes!
always looks forward to your answers...I don't do scary movies...or winter sports...love warm weather activities...
Spooooky!
We upgraded our cable, so we have the OWN channel now! :)
I have the pinterest bug. Wow--your husband has an amazing uncle. I hope I can just drive through town when I am 82.
Nice to have your uncle visit you but I wouldn't want the other mysterious visitor, lol. I don't think there is any restrictions about bringing flowers within the US as long as it fits in one of the allowed 2 hand carry bags. We are not allowed to bring flowers from other countrieS into the US though....Christine
So you had a good time with your guest - glad you had fun. And your still enjoying Christmas - good for you. we put ours up already. I enjoy reading your answers. sandie

Enjoyed your post. I too have been bitten by Pinterest. Very motivating for me. Glad I'm not the only one who hasn't de-Christmased!
I am so jealous that you have a favorite activity in the snow! I have only ever ice skated indoors at a rink. Living in Southern California sure is rough ;)
OK first off do you know how much I'm LOVING your new blog design!

Happy New Year! May the year be filled with inspiration and shrimp.
I took down ONE of my Christmas trees which probably doesn't have a quarter of the amount of ornaments you have and I am exhausted! I keep looking at the other one and knowing I need to take it down now but I am struggling finding the motivation...
