1. The Wednesday Hodgepodge this week falls on John Chapman's birth date. He's
more famously known as Johnny Appleseed...what's your favorite variety of apple?
I like when we get Rome Beauties at the orchards in the Fall. Otherwise I get Granny Smith from the stores which are another of my favorites.
2. When did you last say 'ick'?
2. When did you last say 'ick'?
I don't use that word often at all.
3. Do you think there's a generation gap? Explain.
3. Do you think there's a generation gap? Explain.
Yes I do believe there is a generation gap but I feel it has more to do with inventions over the years. People are still all the same generation after generation but we can't always relate with the new stuff. When we all look back at our high school pictures 30 years later we all have the same reaction.
4. What's on your computer screen saver? Do you leave it alone or change it often?

My screen saver are colored pastel bubbles. No I don't change it because I like them a lot!
5. If you had the attention of the entire world for two minutes, what would you say?

Well as you know I have been dealing with baby loss mother's for over 3 years now. Over the years I have learned a lot about grief and their needs. Many people are afraid to talk about their child because they don't want to upset them yet that is one of their greatest desires. I think I would talk about the needs of a grieving parent.
6. Four fashion trends to try this fall are-brocade/jacquard
(fancy printed fabrics), peplum, lace, and printed pants...which of these four
would you be most likely to wear?
I am a jeans and blouse kind of girl. Some of my dressier tops are fancy printed fabrics. Actually I bought one yesterday!
7. What can make your bad day better?
My husband taking me out to dinner.

So Mark's been gone for two weeks (Berlin, Germany and Worcester, UK) which has allowed me to be kinda lazy. Okay, it's really lazier than normal! I have been having trouble with the color on my TV and then the picture went out totally so I have been camping out with my computer in the family room since Sunday.
I had to set all my DVR programs onto his DVR which was a pain in the butt especially with the new season shows starting. Today I was trying to see if maybe something else was up with the TV. I put in a DVD and it played fine so then I thought maybe it was my DVR box. I checked the connections but nothing changed. So I looked further at the back of the TV and one of the plugs was out! Must have happened when I was dusting. It seems to be a bit of a stretch for the cord. All seem fine now so I guess we are not going TV shopping this weekend:)

Ah, you see: that's why you shouldn't dust!
Glad you don't have to get a new tv and can now enjoy your shows!
God certainly has given you a heart for those families. What a wonderful ministry!
I so believe in a generation gap!
So glad you didn't have to call a tech out or go shopping for a new TV. ;-)
Your ministry to grieving parents is such a blessing! I know I would have appreciated that when I lost my first child 38 years ago.
Glad you "fixed" your TV and I don't think there's anything wrong with being lazy once in a while.
Have a great day!
I say that's ustification for no more dusting : ) Glad it was something simple!
Enjoy your day!
I like Granny Smith apples, too. And I wish you had two minutes with the entire world. Very admirable!
If my DVR wasnt working, I'd have a panic attack!
I love the t.v. thing! That is something I would do and be so frustrated. In fact, last night Russell bought me an ipad and I have no idea how to set it up to get "my stuff" on it and have to wait until my son can come help me! I hate being so technically challenged!
Enjoy the quiet while you have it.
I would have to live without a tv if hubby wasn't around to fix it your call my son. I am not technical at all. I also don't dust.
Going out to dinner is one of my favorite things to do.
So are you happy that you don't have to go get a new TV? Oh, yes, going out to dinner! I really do like that but didn't think of it. RATS!
I have the colored pastel bubbles as a screensaver too! I like them more than any other one I've had!
I'm a jeans and sweatshirt girl!
Debby, I think we have the same screen saver. Every time it starts up if I see it (usually from the kitchen when I'm making dinner) I say "bubbles!!" in a very happy child voice. David does it now too. LOL
Well, that'll teach you not to dust. :) If I look back on my high school pictures, I might be tempted to say the word, 'ick'...LOL
So glad that you figured out the problem and that you don't have to TV shop!
Cool that you won't have to buy a new TV Debby, and that you were able to fix it yourself!!
betty
I'm so glad you solved your tv problems, especially since the new shows have started :)
Mara's comment made me laugh! She's so funny!
I didn't realize today is Johnny Appleseed's birthday! Apple orchards have been struggling here in the Midwest because of a too warm spring, followed by a frost, followed by a drought. I really hope next year is better!
Yay for you for dusting sista!
I loved Rome apples when I lived in Upstate NY. Such huge things with crisp white flesh, juicy and tart. Don't know if they're the same variety you mentioned, but it produced a happy memory from over 20 years ago. Talk about your generation gaps. ;)
good answers Debby....
Hope your husband takes you out to dinner even when you're not having a bad day :)
WHEW! Glad you got the tv thing figured out!
Okay ick to granny smith apples and yum to Gala for this gal.
I was just thinking today that it's about time to make some applesauce.
