WEDNESDAY HODGEPODGE + HBTM

Thank you Joyce for our questions.
Head on over and join in the fun!

1. It's a brand new month...share one thing you're looking forward to in October.
Getting together with our kids on Sunday to celebrate a birthday. I do enjoy handing out candy on Halloween and putting together gift bags for my friends children at bowling.

2. Is chivalry dead? Explain.
Chivalry: Gallantry, courtesy and honor  No I don't think it is dead but we certainly don't see enough of it. Our Military is our best example of Chivalry.

3. On October 2, 1950 the Peanuts comic strip made its debut. Which character is your favorite? Which character is most like you? (Charlie Brown, Lucy, Linus, Schroeder, Snoopy, Woodstock, or Pig Pen) If you need a description click here .
I always liked Lucy, she is open, honest and one tough cookie. I am going to say Sally because she was always in love with Linus. I'm all about that knight and shining armor thing!

4. What's something you're competitive about?
I'm not sure what I am competitive about.  Nothing is coming to mind. Obviously when we are at bowling I want our team to win the games but it's all in good fun. Okay I take that back, there is one woman on one team that I know we really love it when we beat her team so maybe that!

5. October is National Popcorn Popping Month...are you a fan? How do you like your popcorn?
Yes I do love popcorn but haven't had any in a long time being on a low carb diet. I like it with lots of butter!

6. When did you first realize the world is small?
Obviously I can meet someone, find some connection from our past and say "It's a small world" but when I read this I was thinking about something else. Growing up they seemed to talk about overpopulation and running out of space. I was always worried about that. Then after I got married Mark and I would travel out West through places like Wyoming. I had no idea there was so much open space and I finally felt some peace about that.

7. In terms of architecture, what's the most beautiful building you've seen up close and in person?
Well I don't know about a building but I had high school friends growing up who actually lived in Frank Lloyd Wright homes in Riverside, Illinois. I love his work. I would probably have to go with the churches in Europe, I think they are amazing.

8. Insert your own random thought here.

to me!

So here I am turning "61" and I still haven't come to terms with turning sixty last year. I am still living in disbelief. Anyway I plan on going out for my free IHOP breakfast this morning, going out to dinner with Mark tonight and then on Sunday the kids are coming here to celebrate. We have Lou Malnati's pizza arriving today!

Oh, how I'd love to travel to Europe one day and see the churches with my own two eyes. Chris used to be stationed in Italy and he's told me all about them. Wishing you a very HAPPY BIRTHDAY! Sounds like you are going to have quite the celebration, so milk it for all it's worth!

I chose a Frank Lloyd Wright house for #7.

I didn't have any trouble with any milestone birthdays, but I have to admit that turning 60 last year was a little disconcerting. But it is what it is, and I love this stage of my life, so I can't complain. Wishing you a very happy, happy birthday and that you will have peace with being 61. Enjoy your special day!

First off: HAPPY BIRTHDAY! Enjoy your day and weekend of fun.
Even if Popcorn is off the low carb diet, if we go to the movies, I will get a popcorm and enjoy it. We don't go out to movies very often so it really is a treat.

Happy Birthday dear Debby!
Happy Birthday to you!

Now, your present is that you couldn't hear me singing. LOL

I'm definitely a Lucy. But mostly because of her big mouth. LOL

I'm competitive about everything and I can't seem to stop. I haven't had popcorn in a long time either. But I used to love it at the movies with tons of butter!

I didn't realize it was National Popcorn Popping Month! Sounds like a fun thing to celebrate with the kids ;-)

I wouldn't say that I'm very competitive. I think I used to be in school with academics, but definitely not in sports! :-)

Happy belated birthday too! I hope it was a good one and that pizza must be super special if you had to order it! ;-)
