SPRING IS HERE!
1. March 20th is the first day of spring...is she a lion or a lamb in your part of the world?
It is supposed to be 72 degrees today and partly cloudy. I would venture to say that Winter has been a Lion so I'm ready for the Lamb.
2. What's the most dreaded task on your spring clean to-do list? Do you have a 'plan of attack'?
I am not a traditional Spring cleaner. Living in a warmer climate I don't think that way. I have a plan of attack all year long but the problem is that I never do the attack!
3. Peas...love 'em or hate 'em? What's a favorite dish you make using peas?
I don't like peas much at all. Can't think of a recipe I use them in.
4. Do you feel under appreciated?
Most of the time I do feel under appreciated.
5. Have you been using Google Reader? If so, what are you switching to now that GR has announced retirement? If not, how do you read your favorite blogs?
Well if you read my post from Sunday I talked about it. I am now using Feedly and Bloglovin'. I am also putting my favorites in a secret Pinterest board for when all else fails! Both transferred my blogs over easily. I am learning to use both of them. Bloglovin' is a little easier to use but Feedly kept everything in the folders I had already had! At least two years ago Dashboard rejected me adding more blogs. Said I was over the limit and that's when my friend Kendra told me about using a Reader.
I also want to say that for a long time now, when I would follow a blog on GFC it would not go into my Reader so I also had to put blogs in manually. So I had many duplicates and I would just keep them in folders that I would "Mark As Read" each day. I deleted those folders in Feedly so it is possible I removed myself from your GFC. I never knew which was which but I am still following you in RSS. Also I am not sure everyone transferred so it may take me awhile to get this all sorted out.

6. Anne Bradstreet is credited with the following quote~
"If we had no winter, the spring would not be so pleasant; if we did not sometimes taste of adversity, prosperity would not be so welcome." Agree or Disagree? Why?

I do agree with this quote. I think you just have to remember what Princess Diana was trying to teach her boys. If your every wish is given to you than the appreciation of things doesn't have the same value in your heart.
7. When did you last 'spring for something'? What was it?
7. When did you last 'spring for something'? What was it?
The last thing I bought was a pair of rubber boots. I've been wanting a pair and when the daily click for breast cancer site had this pair on sale I bought them. They just arrived on Monday. So Mark asked when I would use them? I told him they are for our farm! His grandparents bought a farm house in Wisconsin when they were retired. They didn't farm the land, just enjoyed the peaceful times. It was actually a vacation house for them, they still had their home in Illinois. I want a farm house!
Before the boots it was my Dooney & Bourke purse.
8. Insert your own random thought here?
For some reason I totally missed out on answering the potato question last week. Of course with my low carb lifestyle I have stayed away from potatoes but decided to try a new recipe from Pinterest over the weekend. Adam stopped over and I made meatloaf and thought this would be a nice side. They were amazing and I will be writing a post about them soon.

Also for those of you who are Downton Abbey fans I finished Season 3. All I can say is OMG....I didn't see any of that coming!

70-degree weather sounds WONDERFUL to me about now! It's 44 here currently. I'm sure I'll be wearing long-sleeves today, again! So ready for it to warm up for keeps! Oh, my...those potatoes look so tasty! Yes, please share the recipe soon! Love your snazzy boots and purse...definitely two things worth springing for!
Love peas - especially in pasta & meat sauce
Peas aren't my favorite either. Your meatloaves look great.
Yeah Spring!! Cute boots
Love the boots and purse...so jealous want one so bad! Potatoes yum! Happy Spring!
Those potatoes look so yummy!! And those boots are so cute.
I LOVE those boots - I need a new pair of rubber boots, my pair got cracks in them last year and didn't keep the water out :) I am kind of the same way about cleaning...I just do it all year round when the house needs it. And Downton Abbey - I did know he was leaving the show, but was shocked to see how it happened! So sad!
Love those boots. I bought some with Paris things on them. Love them. Love those potatoes. You will share the recipe????
70 sounds good to me! We are at 30 here, what to trade?
Like the boots and I use my side bar a lot to read blogs so I'm not sure I need to do anything!!
I love your boots! Let me know if you ever get that farmhouse. If you get one, maybe I'll get mine!
You know, I still do not know what Google Reader is so I guess I won't miss it. Cute boots and Doonie!....Christine
I love your new boots! I've been thinking about getting a pair for all of the rainy days we've been having here!
The ending of Season 3 of Downton Abbey was a bummer wasn't it?
Love those rain boots! The potatoes look delish. A farm house sounds wonderful, especially with not having to farm the land :)
Ok, I guess I'm going to have to check out season 3. :)
Those potatoes look delicious.
Spring is definitely roaring in like a lion. It's freezing where I live!
(I'm not sure how to change my "No Reply" status on your blog. Other bloggers have no problem replying to my comments. But thanks for telling me about it.)
I still have not been able to finish Downton Abbey, however I do know what happens in the end.
Those potatoes look amazing. I'm very hungry and it's another hour and a half til lunch!
First day of spring and we're expected to get 8 inches of snow tomorrow! I love that Bradstreet quote, and yes, I do agree with her!
So sorry you feel under appreciated. Most people don't take the time to realize how much others do for them.
I think you have to be a southerners to love peas!
Glad you said those potatoes were good.....cause I've had a few bombs from Pinterest!
I can't wait for Downton Abbey season 4 to come on!
I need warmer weather! Now!
And those potatoes look AMAZING. And I normally hate potatoes!
I am LOVING those boots! Sooo cute! :)
I looked at bloglovin', but couldn't quite figure out how it worked without signing up for it. So, flipboard it is for me!
I totally love your boots. They're so pretty. They almost look like they were handpainted. I love spring, too but have to get motivated to move toward spring cleaning. That's on my to-do list. The potatoes look yummy!
Ok girl I'm loving those boots!!! And you know that purse is just over the moon awesome!!
I should be better with reader but I usually go threw who comments and then go over to their site. I usually go a week or so back so I can make sure to catch everyone. I also use my side bar with my favs and click on them.
Those potatoes sound amazing!! I so want to see the meatloaf recipe also!
I am just starting Downton Abbey. I have heard it's fabulous. I'm assuming you agree since you are on season 3.
Have a wonderful Spring.
My thinking is that your California winters are better than our KC Springs - possible 6-12" of snow this weekend. :(
As a caregiver I try to keep on top of #4. Easy for me to sometimes feel under appreciated.
Love all these wonderful answers! Gives me another glimpse into who you are outside of the blogging world.
I'm dying to know about your Pinterest recipe as they look amazing.
Can't believe the Season 3 of Downton Abbey. I think my heart broke more than it should have. At least they aren't afraid to kill of major characters. Anxiously awaiting Season 4 and will vow to stay away from Facebook sites that tell what's happening before we actually get to see it.
Love and Hugs ~ Kat
There were peas in a Mediterranean polenta dish I had tonight. I like them.
I am looking into another feed option right now called "Old Reader" that is set up like google's reader.
Love the boots!
I still don't have a great plan for when Google Reader goes away! But we've been following each other on bloglovin' for a while. :D Now I'll have the incentive to use it more! I also need to check out Feedly.
YUM!!! I love potatoes and those look DELISH!! I am not a pea fan myself but I like the frozen kind in cold tuna salad! I love that but here it is still snowing SOB so I can't even begin to think of those yummy cold salads I like in the spring and summer! I love the boot and the idea of retiring to a serene farmhouse... Ah... I don't know much about google reader at all! It's comments that usually take me to other people's blogs (and I visit your's whenever I go on my blog to see what's happening). <3
I am with you on number two - I have a plan to clean the house, but never get to it.
And you answered a question. Bloglovin you have to put the blogs in a group. But you said that feedly will keep the same groups? I HAVE TO DO THIS TOMORROW!
Thanks.
sandie
The only thinh I make with peas is a Tuna Noodle Salad...not a huge fan of them, but I can eat them in dishes :-)
That recipe reminds me of one I used to make when I still lived with my parents. Looks delcious! :-)
Lucky you with the weather! We are stuck in the 20's here in Michigan with snow flurries all week long!
Don't do peas either, bleh!
Oh I am so jealous of your spring!! It is snowing A LOT here right now. :(
And those potatoes? I will be back for that recipe.
Don't even get me started on the reader issue. Stressful!
I have been using Bloglines this week and find it similar to Google Reader.
cute boots and, yes, the finale of Downton was sad!
Okay, I didn't like Old Reader, so I ditched that one and just converted over to Feedly. I spent some time trying to get everything in categories, weed put some blogs that aren't active anymore and just clean things up. Now I'm going to get the app so I can have it on my iPad as well as my Mac.
i've been using reader for a long time, too (same thing - dashboard limited me to 300 blogs - ha!) switched to feedly the day google announced killing off reader. haven't had much transition quirks at all.
I love the boots. You must get a farmhouse to go with them.
