This is the view from our cabin on Lake George. We have been staying at Wood's Lodge for at least 10 years now. We have been spending a week each summer in Mammoth Lakes for over 18 years now, maybe more. Last year was the first year in this cabin. It is not as high up the mountain side which makes it easier for me to go down to fish and go walking in some level areas.
Snow in the mountains.
Reflection
Twin Lakes
Horseshoe Lake....no fishing here.
First year we have noticed people bringing their dogs here.
Skye would have had a ball!
Lake Mamie...look closely,
you will see a bear at the waters edge.
What you don't see in this picture is a Bald Eagle. First time ever we have seen one in Mammoth Lakes. This was when we were fishing on Lake Mary, however I did miss the shot! The last time we saw a Bald Eagle was in Minnesota on Pelican Lake when we took Mark's fathers ashes there. We did think about him when we saw the Bald Eagle.
Lake Mamie again but what you don't see is Lake George. Yes it is there up in the mountain a little bit. There is actually a Crystal Crag Lake too up higher. Crystal Crag Lake runs into Lake George which runs into Lake Mamie which runs into Lake Mary which runs into the Twin Lakes!
We didn't feed this guy but someone is!
Caught this guy while he was leaning on this bush.
The birds always visit too. We gave them some bread later in the week. If you give them stuff right away they never leave you alone!
We always pass Mt.Whitney on our drive to Mammoth Lakes. Here is a picture of it. Mt. Whitney is the highest summit in the contiguous United States. We did drive up there one year and it is a very pretty area. On this trip we went to Bristlecone Pine Forest on the way home which I will post about soon.

No, I think that was on the way to Vegas. You are my California Guru, girl. Ann
