Thank you Joyce!
1. My daughter earned her Master's Degree this past weekend...what's something you've 'mastered' in recent weeks or months?
Remaining quiet when I really want to say a lot of words and I've mastered the art of crying!
2. What song most reminds you of your childhood?
Jesus Love Me This I Know For the Bible Tells Me So.....
3. What do you think about single gender groups and/or events? Should everygroup/event be open to both genders? If not, what sort of exceptions do you think are appropriate?
I guess in today's world you almost have to allow other genders to join any group. I can tell you that I have never cared for those golf course clubs that don't allow woman. My brother in law belongs to one in Houston and that is just wrong in my opinion.
4. What's your favorite spice? Your favorite dish containing your favorite spice?
I'm not real big into spices. I use what a recipe calls for. I do adore the smell/taste of Cumin in dishes like chili. I am going to say Caraway Seed. We don't eat chicken or pork chops without it! (unless it is BBQ which I am not a fan of)
5. I saw this question on Marla's facebook page and asked if I could borrow it for the Hodgepodge, thanks Marla! Chevron patterns are everywhere! Do you like it or think its just a little too much? Do you own anything 'chevron'?
I like them but I don't have anything with a chevron pattern on it.
6. What's something you disliked as a child, but can fully appreciate now?
Until I come up with a better answer I am going to say mushrooms. As a teen I collected mushroom pictures and nick nacks but would never eat them. Now I love them raw or sauteed.
7. What can irritate you very quickly?
Right now, everything and anything! I think it may be time to see someone because this is not me.

Yummy Foods That Work Well Together: (Redbook)
- Oatmeal is packed with iron but needs vitamin C to absorb it so when you have your oatmeal in the morning have some O.J. too! (Molly Morgan, The Skinny Rules)
- Phytochemicals quercetin in apples and catechin in purple grapes work together to reduce blood clotting and heart attack risk.
- The insulin in whole wheat could help boost your absorption of cheese's calcium making this a bone building snack!
- Salad + Olive oil: You need the oil's fat to get the most from the veggies carotenoids, which fight cancer, heart disease and vision loss. (Rachel Rabkin Peachman)

My favourite spice would be cinnamon. In apple pie or cinnamon ice cream. Yum
enjoyed the random thoughts, learned a lot.. i don't know if i have a chevron because i don't know what one is, except there used to be chevron gas stations...
i am thinking maybe menopause?
i spent my whole life crying about everything, tears would fall at any or everything. but in my old age, for the past 6 or 7 years, i stopped crying and no idea why, the only time i cry now if if i get really angry and no one wants to see that.....
I think the chevrons are cute too, but I can't see myself wearing any. Maybe on a journal cover or something. :)) I don't like the fact that women can't join some Country Clubs either, but I don't think boys and girls should share bathrooms in high school. I remember HS!! Please no!!!
i hope you can find some relief from your emotional overload, dearie.
Praying for you emotional overload. I am so sorry for your sadness my friend. I did not know the factoid about oatmeal. I eat it nearly every morning...but without OJ. I may have to rethink this.
I enjoyed reading your answers, and didn't know any the food facts you shared in your random thought.
I hate it when I get in those 'moods', so I hope you get some relief soon! ((hugs))
Kathy
Praying for your emotional overload and great that you recognize this is not you (hugs)
{{{Debby}}} I hate times like that when you just feel like you have had all you can handle... Enjoyed your answers, especially your random facts. Good song choice!
until next time...nel
I know when I was pregnant with my oldest daughter, and anemic, the doctor told me to drink orange juice with my serving of spinach to better absorb the iron. An odd combo!
Sorry you're not feeling like yourself...I was that way in the early days of menopause. It's better, although there are still days when I feel off. Take care Debby!
I love the smell of Cumin too!!!
Love that list of foods that work together. That sort of thing intrigues me!
Yep - I've mastered the art of crying too... can do it at least twice a day :)

Hormones can make me feel that way. I like to remind myself that it will pass :)
I love mushrooms. ..and spices! ;)
I've never eaten mushrooms. I always scrape them off if they are on a pizza.
Hey is Skye a Norwich terrier? He's a very cute dog :)
Wow lots of women love to golf! That doesnt seem right. As a baseball fan (not a fan of golf) but anyway sometimes players or announcers make comments like "its a boys game!" Not entirely! ;)
I know this is random but I missed reading your blog. Sometimes, you just need to have a good cry. I hope that you're feeling better soon.
I don't use many spices when cooking either- I've just never been able to figure all that out. Mostly, it's salt and pepper around here. I think I may have mastered the art of crying years ago. That was back when I allowed the husband to have that kind of control over my emotions. Once I took it back, no more crying.
My dad told me once that the game of GOLF stood for Gentleman Only Ladies Forbbin so he would like to play at a course that was for men only. I did caddie for him however.
Always enjoy these Debby but rarely remember to post them myself. My childhood song list was filled with the ones that my teenage brother and sister was listening to.
Interesting food tips...thanks for sharing them!
I just made Chicken enchiladas only spice is cumin....yum!
Hope you check the edge off soon....I know the feeling..maybe a glass or two of wine would help! Happy Wednesday!
Interesting foods that go together! Thanks for sharing!
I don't know what a Chevron is either...emotions can drive you crazy...hope it all evens out for you
Jesus loves me - I LOVE THAT SONG - and tears - clean out the soul!
Love, sandie
I have also mastered the art of crying. Yesterday I cried in the Hallmark store trying to find a birthday card appropriate for a wayward son.
I hope you find out what's wrong...hormones? Of course everything is blamed on the poor things!
Congratulations to your daughter!
Number 1 is really hard to master!
And I love oatmeal in the morning, too.
I like dried cherries in mine!
Is your blog background different?
I really love the blue and green together!
I too like chevron and don't own any of it. Maybe I need to go shopping.
I love that your answer to number 6 is mushrooms! I hated potatoes as a child and now I just can't get enough of them:)
The art of crying? Heck, I mastered that one so far back I can't even remember. :-)
I'm so with you on #3.
I've mastered crying too!! My mom says I'm too emotional!! Ugh :(
I so think the same thing about that song :)
I like the list of yummy foods :)
