WEDNESDAY HODGEPODGE

Volume 143

1. What's one thing that's still the same about you as when you were young?
I'm still kinda gullible.

2. What's more important-history or science? Why?
Well that's pretty hard to answer. History is our story, science is our future.

3. Lima, kidney, string, garbanzo, black or pinto-your favorite bean?
Black beans for me!

4. What's something people come to your town to do?
Well if your talking about Riverside it would be to visit the Historic Mission Inn. President Nixon got married there and so did our daughter. If your talking Southern California then the list is endless.

5. When was the last time you were in a meeting? Sum it up for us in five words or less.
When I worked at Hallmark.

6. What special event would you like a VIP pass to attend?
Well I would love to be invited to a Royal function in England but here in the states it would be The Oscar's!

7. What's one piece of advice you'd give a writer?
Write from your heart.

8.  Insert your own random thought here.
Speaking of heart I just watched AMOUR on Monday night. It was up for an Academy Award earlier this year.  It is a beautiful story of love and dedication. The movie was a little slow for me but I did like it. It does have subtitles which is okay with me. Listening to them speak French is cool. That is one language I would love to learn.

"Georges and Anne are an octogenarian couple. They are cultivated, retired music teachers. Their daughter, also a musician, lives in Britain with her family. One day, Anne has a stroke, and the couple's bond of love is severely tested." (Source-IMBd)

Good answer to #2. That sounds like a wonderful movie. I'm normally not a fan of foreign movies with subtitles, but this one sounds like it might be worth enduring those subtitles.

I guess my answer for what hasn't changed about me is I still have brown hair. I know lame, but I've had massive change in myself and my thoughts.

I love black beans. One of my high school friends ran a Cuban restaurant and he made the best black bean soup.....and black beans and rice. I could eat them by themselves...but Frank is a meat and potato kind of guy.

Funny...we had the same answer to #7! Great minds think alike, huh? ;) Loved your answer to the question about history and science...couldn't have said it better myself! Ooh...I do love black beans on a burrito! YUM! Enjoyr your day, my friend!

I'm kind of gullible, too, Debby.

French is a beautiful language. I love the way it sounds.

ooo! A royal function - best answer I've read all day! I would LOVE to do that! I love black beans too...and I have to admit I've never watched a movie with subtitles...I wish it was my cup of tea, but it's just not! Happy Wednesday!

I never heard of Amour, I will have to check it out. You always keep me in the know about cool movies!

So true write from heart where the best things come from.

I'll have to check out that movie, sounds interesting, Debby. You are right, tons of things to do in Southern California; one would literally not have enough to do it all over the course of a week or two or even three.

I like watching some foreign movies with subtitles, but my husband hates reading the captions! So I usually have to watch it by myself if I rent one. Happy Wednesday, Debby!

I'm extremely gullible, too. I don't think it's going to be changing any time soon!

That movie sounds like a tear jerker, my kind of movie.
How neat that your daughter was married at the same place as President Nixon!
Have a great week :)

I think we all need to remain a little gullible. It makes the world a softer gentler place. I'll have to check out the movie. I'm working to improve my French : )

Great, concise answer to #2. I must look for the movie on your recommendation. It is so hard to find really good movies these days.

Yes! the Oscar's! Take me! Take me with you!

Amour just broke my heart as I watched it. It was so well acted, but as you said slow and depressing.... but that is life sometimes.

Love your clever answer about history and science. I hated history in high school, and tolerated science.

Great answer for history and science. I always try to make the questions to complicated. :o)

I'll have to check out that movie. Looks like something I would enjoy.

I like how you worded #2.

I didn't get around to answering this week. It seems it's been a busy week!

I could not think of a place I wanted to go behind the scenes. DING - of course - I would love to go to London with you and meet the Royals!

Liz Mays said...

I'm guessing you have a very kind heart and that's what leads to your being gullible.

Subtitles don't bother me either. I thought they would but I quickly forget about them.
