Okay that title is not really true but it's all I had!
Mark arrived home safely from the UK on Thursday. We treated it like a Friday and ordered pizza. He didn't go into work on Friday so I've been so confused on what day it is. (no I'm not eating pizza, haven't had any in 8 weeks but plan on cheating with our favorite Aurelio's in Las Vegas this week)
On Friday we headed to Glen Oaks, CA to our favorite apple orchard to get Rome Beauty apples. Well they didn't have any. We were so bummed about it. We ended up getting a Seymour Winesap apple which we had never heard of before. It is delicious, crisp and tart like we like our apples.
We picked up a carmel apple for Amber, some apple cider to try out a Apple Cider Sangria recipe I found on Pinterest and a small pumpkin. I also got a delicious homemade pecan log roll which will be a special treat one day when I really need it!
Note to self: Buy a pumpkin at Trader Joe's next year, they have them for $5.99 and we paid almost $12.00 for the same size. I was off taking a few pictures when Mark checked out so I didn't know how high priced they were........
About a month ago my friend Amy told me about the gift in the kids meals at McDonald's. Of course I didn't know about them because I don't have any little ones around and also it would be rare for me to go there to eat.
So I went around to several stores trying to find what they had left. I was able to find 4 out of the six and the other two #1 Dorothy and #2 Scarecrow were purchased from Amazon. Obviously they were not the $1.50 price from McDonald's but I couldn't have an incomplete set.....right? That's my story and I'm sticking to it!

I have trouble coming up with titles for my posts. Of course, sometimes I have trouble with material for the post as well ... you might say that my life is boring, but that's ok ... I'm quite content with "boring". ;-)
too stinking cute... I love the Wizard of Oz toys. Wish I had known, too. Glad hubby made in home safely. :)
glad hubby made it home. and glad you found another good apple.
Those are cute McDonald's toys, Debby. of course you had to have the complete set; I would have done the same thing myself! Glad Mark got home safe and sound! I do remember visiting Glen Oaks when we lived in Murietta; it was a fun day trip!
betty
I am happy the hubby made it home safe and sound, i like my apples crisp and tart to, not soft.. i am trying to remember if i ever went 8 weeks with out pizza and i don't think so... burgers and pizza are my favorite foods and what i always choose for my birthday. not both at the same time. LOL
have fun in Las Vegas
i kind of like when you lose track of what day it is...
Love the pictures!! We've tried to avoid McDonald's but had to hit a drive thru for Al so she got the Tin-Man.
:-)
I'm impressed you've given up pizza for long... I don't have your will-power! ;-)
Sounds like you and hubby did a lot of nice things. And what was that - the items from the OZ? Your pumpkins look pretty there. Did you go to Vegas????
too cute on the Oz characters...love the photos of the pumpkins....I haven't had pizza in I don't even remember when the last time I ate pizza...glad your Hubby is home safe and sound...
I love caramel apples!
The Oz characters are cute! I remember collecting all the dalmations from McDonald's many years ago. I'm not sure I've ever been there as often as I was at that time!
Love those little Oz characters! I like Rome apples...Braeburn, Cameo, and Granny Smiths too. I love apple time. When we went to the mountains for fall break we hit a couple of giant orchards and got apples.
Hi Debby, I see that we have many blog friends in common from your comments above!
Glad your husband is safely home. It's always fun to visit the orchard in Autumn. We love apples, especially.
I did not know about the McDonald's toys either...so cute!
Have a great day, Mildred
Okay, apple sangria sounds really yummy!
Pumpkins are expensive there! We went to a little local farm and bought 4 for $8.
Yes it is Apple Orchard time again thanks for the reminder. Also pumpkin patch time as well. I couln't think of a title for my post either.

I just love those little guys, I wish we go to McDonalds so I could have picked them up too.
Hooray for a mid-week celebration!
