We went to see Jersey Boys (IMDb) last Tuesday evening. My dad, brother-in-law Bob and me! This movie has had a lot of bad criticism against Clint Eastwood for doing a poor job. In fact my dad wasn't sure he wanted to go because a review he read.
I think he did an excellent job and there isn't a movie that he has directed that I haven't liked. I think he does a great job directing. You can't just count on one person's opinion, you need to go and form your own.
Well let me tell you that WE LOVED IT! I would go back again to see it and I will buy this movie on DVD. I really didn't know much at all about The Four Seasons or Frankie Valli.
I read one review where the woman wrote that she felt she was seeing Jersey Boys on the stage and I would agree with her. It's a movie but has more of a personal feeling like a musical on stage would have.
"The story of four young men from the wrong side of the tracks in New Jersey who came together to form the iconic 1960s rock group The Four Seasons."
Hope everyone has a wonderful week. I head home tomorrow evening. I will miss my dad and family here in Florida. Hard to believe tomorrow is July 1st!

we watched another movie last night that i really liked. Silver Linings.. another good movie.. and i agree about reviews.. i have read reviews on movies and books and cameras and did not agree at all with the reviews... i know longer read reviews because there will always be someone who loves or hates it...
Hubby and I saw this yesterday and we enjoyed it too! Didn't realize Frankie Valli even sang some of those songs though....but I LOVED them all. We rarely listen to critics. We read the peoples reactions as they seem more like how I see them. Safe travels home!
We loved it too Debby. The music was really great! Of course, I really loved the Four Seasons when I was a teen.

I do want to see this one, Debby; thanks for your review on it. I will read reviews of books/movies, but then usually go with my "heart" if I want to read the book or see the movie. I think Clint Eastwood is incredibly talented, I can't imagine him not doing a good movie.
I can't believe it is time for you to leave Florida! The time has flown! I know you'll be sad saying good bye to your dad tomorrow.

I've been thinking about seeing that movie - I love the songs! Glad to have a good review. And yes, I have loved everything Clint Eastwood has done!
We still hope to see it, maybe this weekend if it's still around here. The Broadway show is one of my all time favorites, and the music is fabulous, so if it mimics the show I know I'll like it.
That movie isn't high on my list to see. I may wait until it comes out on dvd to see it.
I'd like to see this movie too. I never pay attention to the reviews. Usually I end up liking it when the reviews are bad.
