Amber and I went to see Wish I Was Here (IMDb). I love Zach Braff and this movie was very good. Its a bit off the wall and kind of quirky but we definitely liked it.
"Aidan Bloom is a 35-year-old man who finds himself at major crossroads, which forces him to examine his life, his career, and his family."
I went to see And So It Goes (IMDb) the week before last. I love Diane Keaton movies and I always enjoy Michael Douglas and was wondering how they would be together in this movie. Not as good as her with Jack Nicholson but this movie turned out to be very cute and I enjoyed it! It was definitely worth seeing.
"A self-absorbed realtor enlists the help of his neighbor when he's suddenly left in charge of the granddaughter he never knew existed until his estranged son drops her off at his home."
Last week I went to see Get On Up (IMDb), The James Brown Story, and it was excellent! I think that Chadwick Boseman should be nominated for an academy award like Jamie Foxx was when he did Ray! He was amazing and I really enjoyed learning about James Brown's life. I know James Brown's music but never actually followed him or owned any of his albums.
"A chronicle of James Brown's rise from extreme poverty to become one of the most influential musicians in history."
Mark and I went to see The Hundred-Foot Journey (IMDb) on Friday. We were going to save this one for during this week and were on our way to see Dawn of the Planet of the Apes before it leaves the show but ended up hitting some horrible traffic so we went on to the next movie theater to see this one. We were going to wait for $5. Tuesday but found out that seniors are always $5.00 and $4.00 on Wednesday's.....Win, Win!
This movie was delightful and we both enjoyed it. Not all movies have to be big blockbusters to be entertaining. It is definitely worth seeing!
"The Kadam family clashes with Madame Mallory, proprietress of a celebrated French restaurant, after they open their own nearby eatery, until undeniable chemistry causes the Madame to take gifted young chef Hassan under her wing."
I ended up seeing "Begin Again" for the third time. I wanted Amber to see it and since it was at the $5. Tuesday's theater I figured why not. Frankly I could watch it over and over again. (yes I'm a wee bit obsessed with this movie)
I also went to see "22 Jump Street" with Mark for the second time. He wanted to see it and I had gone with Amber the first time. I am usually entertained regardless of who is in the theater. Many times I go and there is no one but me watching the movie.
When I went to see 22 Jump Street Amber the theater was packed and everyone was laughing like crazy. With Mark there was only one other person in the show with us and it actually changed the dynamic of the movie for Mark. He thought it was just okay. I still laughed a lot!
What have you seen lately......either at the show or at home that was new to you?

LOL; I love Sandra's post above. I always say I will watch them on cable and then forget what I wanted to watch, when it finally comes out. The last movie I saw in a theatre was "The Help". We don't get out very often. ;)
yup, you are a movie junkie, for sure.
You see more movies than anyone I know :-) Seems like a great hobby for you!
WOW! I can't believe all the movies you've seen! I can't even remember the last time I was in a movie theatre. Actually I think it was when I saw "Inception" - which I really liked a lot.
Always appreciate your reviews, Debby! Helps me consider what to watch when it makes it to TV!
GOD BLESS!
Hi Debby! I'm so glad you've been able to get out and see so many movies! I was just telling my sister in law that I just wasn't being pulled to see anything these days.
I think 100 Steps/Get On Up/And So It Goes sound the best. Hmm...maybe I'll be getting to the show after all!
Blessings,
Ceil
Love your reviews.
I want to see "The Hundred Foot Journey" and "And So It Goes."
Your reviews are helpful, all of these movies interest my husband and I.
Sounds like you have really enjoyed these recent shows. Great to learn about the discount too. Thanks for sharing your thoughts!
We haven't been to the movies in awhile. Last one we saw was Heave is For Real.
I was on someone else's blog that also said the 100 Foot Journey was a good movie. I like Helen Mirren so I'll watch for it when it comes to Red Box. We saw Divergent over the weekend; we really liked it :)
betty
The only one I have seen is So It Goes - loved it.
And I want to see the The Hundred Foot Journey this weekend!
Thanks.
I haven't been to the movies since Tom Cruise's Edge of Tomorrow, but you've mentioned a couple of movies that I'm really interested in seeing. Thanks for the great tips... :)
I hope to see "The Hundred Foot Journey"...it sounds like one I would like!
Hubby and I saw the Hundred Foot Journey this last week-end and we both thoroughly enjoyed it! I'd like to see And so it goes...the James Brown looks REALLY good too. Great reviews!
Wow, you really enjoy seeing the movies!
I miss going to the movies; unfortunately they overstimulate my nervous system and my movements go wild, lol. Still, I can tell that several of these will go on my 'must see' (when they come out) list. =)
I would happily watch all of those.
You sure get out to see a lot of movies! Husby and I never go to theaters. I just wait til it comes out on DVD.
I love your reviews!
I want to see As it goes. I do love her and him be interesting to watch it. On DVD of course ... lol
