As you know I flew to Florida with Mark on June 15th which was Father's Day. I spent 5 nights in Orlando at the Gaylord Palms and went to Downtown Disney. Then we headed to my Dad's house on Thursday. Mark went home on Saturday but I stayed with my Dad until July 1st.
I had a wonderful time visiting my family. I didn't take a lot of pictures this year. I try to visit at least twice a year which I've been doing for many, many years now.
As a rule I don't go sightseeing because my reason to be there is to spend time with my dad and visit my sister, brother-in-law, their daughters and grandchildren.

I have been going to Florida for over 50 years now because my Mother's parents lived there so I have seen many of the popular sites around the area. (Area's I haven't been are Miami, The Keys, and the Destin Beach areas)
This time I was happy to be there to attend two family parties along with surprising my blog friend Christine. Of course I was there to celebrate my Dads 91st birthday too! It was a very relaxing time for me.
Here is my Dad heading to church
where he ushers each week.
My Dad and I went to the Hard Rock Casino twice.
I won $250. twice!
I was very excited to be in Florida to celebrate my
Great Niece Amber's 18th Birthday....
I was also very happy to be there to attend my
Great Niece Amanda's graduation party.
She is heading to the University of Florida this month.
She worked very hard, had excellent grades
and also got herself a full scholarship!
Some pictures from around my Dads community.
Enjoyed watching the duck in the pond.
These two were on a feeding frenzy!
For those of you who have followed along with my updates on Christine's granddaughter Rea here is what she posted on Wednesday:
"Rea just got out of surgery for the resection of her tumor. The tumor that originally was as big as a tennis ball got shrunk to that of a size of a walnut after chemo, was successfully and completely removed today. I am so happy, I couldn't stop crying. Thank you for all your prayers. Our brave SupeRea did it!" (8-6-14)

You did some really nice things in Florida and combined them with family. I am surprised you never have been to Miami!
I am sure glad Rea's daughter has done so well - I hope and pray that means that the cancer is GONE!
$250 twice - you are a lucky gal.

Wonderful update on Rea! So glad you could visit family in Florida. My Dad's 92 and in a nursing home near-by. He has dementia and other problems, but he still knows me.
You are a lucky lady, Debby! It seems you usually do well when you go to casinos; that is great! It looked like you had a great visit with your family in Florida. I like that you take the effort to go out and visit them as often as you do and to really enjoy the time there with them! So sweet too that your dad still ushers!
betty
