WEDNESDAY HODGEPODGE

Volume 195
Thank you Joyce

1. Elizabeth Lawrence is quoted as saying, 'Even if something is left undone, everyone must take time to sit still and watch the leaves turn." So have you done just that? And what did you leave undone in order to do so?

Taking time for myself is going to the show even though I have a house that needs cleaning.

2. Since we're talking turning...what's one thing you feel you're doing 'every time you turn around'?

Filling the dogs water bowls!

3. How hard is it for you to 'turn the other cheek?' (
refrain from retaliating when one has been attacked or insulted)

Of course it depends on who I am with. I'm not as good at it as I use to be. I'm afraid our daughter attacks often and I can't be quiet.

4. When did you last turn a drawer, your car, a room, or your entire house upside down looking for something? Did you find it?

That doesn't happen very often. I almost always know where something is. I'm not saying I am organized but there is order to my disorder!

5. 'One good turn deserves another'...were you most recently on the giving or receiving end of that sentiment?

I don't have a clue but I am usually the one giving.

6. Red, yellow, and orange are the colors of fall. Also the colors of fruit. If you were permitted only one color of fruit in your diet, which would you choose? This question isn't as easy as it sounds, at least not for me.

Out of those three colors I would have to say red. I would eat Strawberries, Pomegranates and Red Rome Beauty apple.

7. The Hunt for Red OctoberOctober SkyHalloween... which 'October' film is your favorite?

I guess The Hunt for Red October was an okay movie.

8. Insert your own random thought here.

i turned up some music yesterday. usually i live in a quiet world, but i felt the need. :)

i'd choose red, too. i eat berries (raspberries, strawberries) every day. i love cherries. i do eat apples, too.

i straighten the throw covers on the doggie couch a million times a day. :)

I liked that quote, Debby. And I have to agree, I would choose red as the color to eat. It is interesting to see the questions Joyce comes up with each week, always creative ones.

Maybe eating watermelon while watching The Hunt for Red October would be a good afternoon! With some strawberry shortcake for dessert??

Sorry to hear that your daughter attacks, Debby...that must be so hard. I'm a believer in cranking up the music, too...GOOD for the soul!

There's some order to my 'disorder, too :) Ha Ha

That's an interesting random thought! My version of 'shutting the world out' is to stop watching the news for a while... I feel much better now :)

I like your last quote box! Excellent. Another fun Hodgepodge and red fruits seems to be the answer from everyone so far!

yep, I would have to go with red myself.
How old is your daughter? My 14 yr old step daughter challenges us often as well.
I've always used the phrase organized chaos for my stuff. I know exactly where it is even though it may seem messy.

Number 3.

Now when you live with someone it is a lot different then when it is someone out there.

Easier to forgive out and harder when it's in - because it hurts so much more.

You know what I mean?

Something in common-I crank up the music!

Seems every time I turn around the dog wants out. Then she stands and stares at me to let her back in. She wants a treat.
Sandie is right. It is harder when they are living with you. I'm really sorry that your daughter attacks you.

I love your random thought!

I can certainly understand having order to disorder.
That's what goes on here.
If the house is nice & orderly I can't find a thing..LOL

Blessings!

I really did like The Hunt for Red October. The quote is quite true.

I find loud music in the privacy of my home or car to be very therapeutic. Since you're a movie buff...have you seen the new Left Behind with Nicholas Cage, and if so what did you think? Trying to decide if I want to see it.

I laughed with the "filling the water bowl".
Pets, you gotta love them.

I don't think I stopped by yesterday. I started answering the questions and then didn't get around to publishing it.

I love pomegranates too. We are trying to grow a plant. The last one apparently froze in our surprisingly cold winter!

Always enjoy reading these Debby. I liked both The Hunt for Red October and October Sky.
