Thank you Joyce.
No Hodgepodge Next Week.
Merry Christmas to one and all....
1. Time magazine has selected The Ebola Fighters as their person of the year for 2014. Do you agree, and if so who would you say is a close second? If you disagree with their choice, who do you think should have been chosen?
I'm sure it is a pretty good choice. I do not watch the news so I am not one to make a choice here.
2. This question comes to you courtesy of Susan who blogs over at Stew Mama Says. She knows we have a wedding happening any minute now, and she asks, 'What's your favorite-something old? something new? something borrowed? something blue in your home? Be sure you hop over and say hi to Susan today!

OLD: A bible that my mother carried on her wedding day. NEW: A little Christmas tree I just bought on Monday. BORROWED: Nothing borrowed comes to mind. BLUE: Me, I'm blue!
3. Fudge-yay or nay? Your favorite flavor? Do you make it yourself? With nuts or without?
Yay! I really like a maple flavored fudge when bought at a fudge store. Yes I make fudge, it is usually chocolate, I make some with nuts for me and without for other family members.
4. December 17th is Wright Brothers Day, commemorating the first successful flights made by Orville and Wilbur Wright in 1903 in Kitty Hawk, North Carolina. How old were you when you made your first flight? Do you like to fly? Have you ever been to Kitty Hawk or other parts of the North Carolina Outer Banks?
I was around 14 when I make my first flight. I was alone and flew to do a baby sitting job for my cousin's baby. I do enjoy flying but I didn't always feel this way. No I have not been to Kitty Hawk or North Carolina.
5. Do the people in your family tend to follow a particular career path, and if so what's the path?
No they do not.
6. What is one thing that you absolutely, positively must accomplish today?
Finishing up the out of town boxes to be mailed tomorrow.
7. This Christmas I hope__________________.

.....to spoil Adam and Tristen with tons of love and affection. They leave for Pittsburgh on the 27th and I am thrilled for their new adventure. However I am blue with the fact that I am going to miss them deeply.

I will be taking several random days off from my computer to accomplish a Christmas Miracle here in my house. So if I am not around to read and comment on your blog I apologize in advance.
The only decorations up in my home are my trees and not one ornament out of my 1,000 have been hung. Not one bin has been opened with the other decorations either. It will get done and I'm not stressed at all which is a wonderful feeling. So this next week I will need each day to decorate, bake and wrap our family presents. Take care and God Bless......

Have a wonderful holiday!
i have to clean a dreadfully dusty and lived-in home, then put up a few decorations, too. *sigh* and we have rain predicted several days this week so that just means 4 big dogs bringing in lots of mud. the house might not get cleaned at all. :)
i hope you have a wonderful time with adam and tristen.
Good idea to take time off from computer, Debby, to get things together for Christmas! I know it will be a very special Christmas with Adam and Tristen; I bet wonderful memories will be made that will carry through to the next Christmas! It is neat this day and age with how we can keep in touch with loved ones :)
I think that is neat that you have your mom's Bible that she had on her wedding day :)
rainy and wet here today :)
betty
good luck and enjoy your decorating and your time with Adam and Tristen... the only question i want to answer is I LOVE Fudge, chocolate, vanilla, nuts or no nuts, that is because i have a sugar addiction and it is pure sugar. the good news is when i eat it, the next few days my bones hurt so bad i can't stand it, so i stay far away from it
Enjoy your well deserved time off. Peanut butter fudge is my personal favorite.
Enjoy spoiling your loves...
If you aren't around - you have a wonderfully blessed Holiday!!!
Merry Christmas and enjoy your week of.
Have a wonderfully merry Christmas!! I always enjoy the Hodgepodge!!
I know how much you're going to miss your son and Tristen and my heart truly goes out to you. Remember, however, absence makes the heart grow fonder. Enjoy your time with them! Wishing you a very MERRY CHRISTMAS!
Hi has it been raining where you are? We're getting so much of it. Hope you have a Merry Christmas!!
Hope you got your mail done. I like chocolate fudge without nuts. I like your wedding ideas.
Enjoy your family and this special time of year, making lots of memories.
I like the maple fudge from the stores too. And I make chocolate and butterscotch here at Christmas. The maple is just better from a candy store. I hope you get everything done and are able to enjoy making memories with the family. I know it's hard when they move away. You never stop missing them and longing for their company and yet, we're always so proud and supportive of them. Motherhood is hard on the heartstrings.
I ran later than usual getting my decorating done this year, too. Have a Merry Christmas, we'll get caught up in the New Year :)

Merry Christmas to all your family. I didn't pull out much this year and I'm quite happy about that!!
I'm sorry you're blue Debby. May you find joy in the season as you decorate and spend time with your family. Hugs to you today. Merry Christmas!
I loved the bible answer...and agree with you on the blue. I am sad that Kat and Brian are in Moldova and won't be home for Christmas. Everytime I hear the song I'll Be Home For Christmas...I want to ugly cry.
I love maple fudge! My true favorite and I only like fudge if it has nuts in it.
Merry Christmas and don't be blue.
Merry Christmas to you and yours and I hope you enjoy of single minute of the holidays!!
Always love to read your hodgepodge Denny. #4 caused me to flash back to October 4, 1968 when I took my first airplane flight from NYC to Columbia, SC for basic training at Fort Jackson.
Well, we are all pretty busy right now and are likely all away from our computers more than usual. Wishing you a delightful Christmas in spite of Adam and Tristen being away.
Hi, Debby!
We don't watch the news, either. So much evil going on.
Not knowing what America will be like in 3 years is kinda depressing.
Interesting, flying to babysit for your cousin.
Some people fly for a living, I think I could.
We just got back from a Christmas party.
I'm headed to bed, but wanted to visit some blogs first.
Merry Christmas!! xoxo
Have a great Christmas. I still haven't got any Christmas decorations up either. Have to do it tomorrow or on Tuesday. In between watching and listening to Christmas films/songs.
To my knowledge, my first flight was when I was four years old, to Panama. I used to love flying, but now I see it more as a necessary evil.
Good luck with the decorating!
