Volume 223
Thank you Joyce :)
1. What's something you're looking forward to in the month of June?
I am going to Florida to visit my dad for 17 days along with other family members like my sister Darcy, brother in law Bob, their two girls Michele, Melissa and Melissa's husband Joe. Especially fun seeing Darcy and Bob's grandchildren Amanda, Amber, Ashlynn and Garrett. Amber recently moved to Kentucky so I won't be seeing her :(
2. In what way have you come full circle?
2. In what way have you come full circle?
For 19 years we have tried to help our daughter find peace within herself and we do not feel any further ahead today than we did 19 years ago.

"Over The Rainbow"
Somewhere over the rainbow way up high
There's a land that I heard of once in a lullaby
Somewhere over the rainbow skies are blue
And the dreams that you dare to dream really do come true
Someday I'll wish upon a star
And wake up where the clouds are far
Behind me
Where troubles melt like lemon drops
Away above the chimney tops
That's where you'll find me
Somewhere over the rainbow bluebirds fly
Birds fly over the rainbow. Why then, oh, why can't I?
If happy little bluebirds fly
Beyond the rainbow why, oh, why can't I?
There's a land that I heard of once in a lullaby
Somewhere over the rainbow skies are blue
And the dreams that you dare to dream really do come true
Someday I'll wish upon a star
And wake up where the clouds are far
Behind me
Where troubles melt like lemon drops

Somewhere over the rainbow bluebirds fly
Birds fly over the rainbow. Why then, oh, why can't I?

Beyond the rainbow why, oh, why can't I?
5. Strawberry ice cream, strawberry short cake, strawberry pie, or strawberries right off the vine...your favorite?
I love strawberries, buy them every week but I would have to say that short cake would be a choice I would eat everyday if calories and sugar were not involved. Short cake (pound cake) soaked in milk with sliced strawberries topped with whipped cream is how I would fix it!
6. Aesop's birthday is celebrated on June 4th, although there is some disagreement as to whether or not that's accurate, or if he was even a real person. Regardless, the name Aesop is associated to this day with many well known fables.

Which of the following best applies to something in your life right now? The Tortoise and the Hare(Slow and Steady wins the race), The Ant and the Grasshopper (Be prepared), The Fox and the Goat (Look before you leap) or The Crow and the Pitcher (Necessity is the mother of invention)?
I've never even heard of Aesop's birthday but I will choose The Crow and the Pitcher however I still haven't reached the water!
7. The answer is yes...what's the question?

Do you look forward to Joyce's Wednesday Hodgepodge questions each week?

Aunty Acid's view on the world fits my mind so much! Do you think she's in to mindreading much?
I have had some difficulty getting to sleep lately. My head is just whirling and whizzing and thinking of all those things I don't need to think of right then. Even thinking of dandelions, daisies, poppies and cornflowers doesn't help!
PS: you have this 'I'm not a robot' thing on your comment thing. But even when you don't tick the box it will publish my comment! What's the point of it then?
Amen to #8!!
I can relate to your random thought. We have a long to-do list for the next little bit, and while I fall asleep okay, if I wake in the night I start scrolling through it in my head. Ugh. I feel like once we get closed on this house things will settle a little. Not a lot, but a little : ) Enjoy your travels!
my bed is just like yours. LOL i like strawberries, but not strawberry ice cream and not strawberry pie.. i am with you on Aesops and none of them fit me. i have come full circle in my life, living with a husband that is just like my dad was...
I liked #8! I do like to read everyone's responses to the Hodgepodge :)
How fun with visiting family, but I know you go down there to celebrate your dad's birthday; always good to see family!
Sometimes we just have to let our kids find their own way. We give them the tools, we give them our time and love, they got to step up to the plate and try to figure it out and work it out for themselves, as tough as it to watch them sometimes.
betty
Yay for a trip to Florida! I hope you have a wonderful time!!
i think i need all of aesop's wisdom. :) i'm sorry for #2. i cannot imagine the angst you must feel as a parent. glad you are getting to florida again!
I know you're looking forward to spending time with your dad and other family members. Enjoy this special time :)
I guess our children have to "find their own way", but it sure is frustrating watching them try to do it, isn't it?
I am sorry about the struggle with your daughter, Debby. That is tough. I do hope you can have a pleasant and relaxing time in Florida. Sounds like a nice time of getting together with the family. Safe travels.
Have an awesome time in Florida!!! Make fun memories with your dad and family.
Prayers for your daughter.
Always enjoy reading these Debby. Did one today too. Have a great trip to Florida.
CUTE cartoon about remembering everything once we get into bed!!
Sorry about #2 and the lack of peace.
Love Somewhere Over the Rainbow. It's got good harmony, too.
Blessings, and enjoy that trip to FL!
Love your answers to 7 and 8 :)
Hope you enjoy your stay with your dad. Prayers for #2.
Enjoy your visit with your dad. Loved your answers. The full circle one made me sad. I hope that changes some time.
Definitely remember everything i was supposed to do once I am in bed! I also have a list of things I want to accomplish and have my day planned before I leave the bed. Once I am away from it, all my lists go magically away. Enjoy you trip to Florida
The part about your daughter makes me very sad. I hope one day things get better for her.
Love your graphic! I too remember lots of things I wish I had accomplished once I snuggle up in bed.
I am so glad to read you chose Queens, NY. I didn't think anyone would chose that one. I have a good recommendation on my answers :)
I love that song. So sorry to read your answer about your daughter. I will say a prayer.
Such interesting questions and answers; when I read the questions they always stump me! Hope you have a wonderful family visit, filled with love, peace and joy!
Hugs,
Noreen
