1. On a scale of 1-10, how would you rate your summer so far? Why?
(1=eh and 10=best summer ever)
I will go with an 8 with my trip to Florida. Being home now it has been maybe a 3. In two weeks I'm hoping for a 9. As wonderful as things have been on random days I don't see this summer being a 10.
2. July 26th is National Aunts and Uncles Day. Did you have many aunts and uncles growing up? Were you especially close to any one or maybe all of them? Are you an aunt? (or uncle for the men who join here on Wednesdays) Share a favorite memory relating to one of your own aunts or uncles or relating to a niece or nephew who call you Aunt (or Uncle).
Yes I had Aunts and Uncle's growing up. I was not especially close to any of them. I did get closer with my Aunt here in California after we moved here but but I was already 38 years old.
I would have to say my favorite Aunt was my husbands Aunt Butch! Yes I am an Aunt and I love all of them. Unfortunately we do not live nearby so closeness is not an option. I did have some amazing times with my two nieces back in the late 80's and 90's at my dads summer home in on Huntley Lake near Antioch, IL.
3. What's your favorite food dipped in chocolate? What's your favorite food dipped in cheese?
I'll go with ice cream dipped in chocolate otherwise I will say a strawberry. I'm a huge fan of cheese and as much as I would like to dip tortilla chips or crackers into cheese I use veggies most of the time.
4. When were you last astonished by something? Explain.
I don't know if I'm astonished by anything but I am sick and tired of politics on Facebook. I wish that the politicians could have their conventions and that nothing else is published after that.
I do not want to see the bashing of each other in commercials for all the months ahead before the election. They spoke there peace, just let us marinade on that until November.
5. Surf board, paddle board, ironing board, Pinterest board, score board, clip board, bulletin board...which board have you most recently encountered?
Well I post to my boards on Pinterest daily. I used a clip board to fill out forms at some new doctor's office but I will go with ironing board. I use one all the time!
6. What's your favorite story from scripture? Why that story?
I'm going with the wedding party when Jesus turned water into wine. John 2: 1-11 He preformed an amazing miracle.
7. If you were to travel from the east coast to the west coast in your own country, which five cities would you most want to see?
I have seen quite a few. I can't believe how many I have seen on this list HERE. Definitely Washington DC, New York City, Boston, Hawaii and Alaska. I have traveled across the states in my 20's by car and have been to many of of this list. Other's I don't have a desire to see!
8. Insert your own random thought here.

Ice cream dipped in chocolate sounds absolutely heavenly :)
not a fan of fruit dipped in chocolate, so i'd go with ice cream, too. :) love the last thought.
I like your random quote; that is a good one! I do like the story of Jesus changing water into wine. When reading it, I often imagine myself there as a bystander behind the scenes and seeing how it all played out and the amazement when the wine steward tasted the wine Jesus had made, etc.
I had a lot of aunts/uncles and cousins but again distance prevented us from seeing them very often after we moved to California. My sister keeps up with some of the family but she is closer to them. I imagine by now I probably have 2nd and even 3rd cousins I'll more than likely never meet.
betty
nuts and chocolate, fruit and chocolate, donuts and chocolate. LOL get my drift? i love cheese and eat it a lot but do not dip in cheese.. when i worked we used to go to Chili's once a week and get the cheese dip with nachos. yum.. my dad's only sister was my Aunt Helen and was as much a mother to me as my mother was... i was very close to 2 of daddy's five brothers and his 1 sister and all my cousins.
Such a perfect and TRUE random thought! I'm with you, Debby...I've had enough of politics on FB and everywhere else for that matter. Our nation is in serious turmoil...may God help us all.
I loved you thoughts on #4. I'm beginning to avoid Facebook a lot! I think the idea about "marinading until November" is a good one :)
I loved your old pictures. Looks like some good times back in the 'good ole' days'!
Enjoy the rest of your week!

I enjoyed seeing the photos of when you were a kid. Those are always fun! And I agree about politics this time around. I always listen/watch to hear what they all have to say, but I will be so glad when it's over. I am not on Facebook for the cartoon reason you mentioned, and I loved that last quotation. That is so true. Have a wonderful Wednesday! xo
I hate the politics on Facebook. I stick with Instagram... No politics there just nice pictures.
Glad you've had a good summer. This hasn't been my favorite summer but there's always next year.
I'm also tired of politics on Facebook and tired of all the bashing by the politicians. It's ridiculous. I like your random thought. So true.
Visiting from Hodgepodge! I said the same thing you did about tortillas in cheese! YUM! Great answers and I am so glad I found your blog! You can follow me back at Annster's Domain! Have a great day!
I know it's a sin to wish away time ... but gosh, there are days I want to go to sleep and not wake up until November. :)
Wow. You use your ironing board every day? I keep telling myself I'm saving on the electric bill by not plugging in the iron. LOL.
It always seems that the numbers drop when we arrive back home, doesn't it? Same thing happens here. Sigh. Girl, if something around here needs ironing, they better iron it or go without. I do not iron. LOL
Loved seeing the older photos. Looks like many great summer memories were made there. Great random thought :)
Love your answers. I love the picture at the bottom - so true. I am tired of politics, but at the same time I am scared for the country. Love your photos. I love chocolate - dark - dipped in anything. I do like to go to the Melting Pot and they melt cheese and you dip all sorts of things in there and it is delicious! Have a good one.
I'm sick of the political stuff too...... just sick of it all! I think I sent you a friend request on fb last night.
Hi Debby,
I agree with your FB discussion. I am not on FB, but I have a friend who just gets in a tizzy about all the stuff she reads on FB.
I love your Summer Memories with your kids. I use to wash up in a lake too on summer vacation. ;-)

Good answers and I enjoyed the throwback picks of summers past. I love reviving those old memories too long laid dormant. I agree with the political mess because I tend to get too involved and caught up. It accomplishes nothing but my own frustrations. Enjoy your day.
I like that quote on your random thought. So true!
Have a great Thursday!
I'm afraid I agree with you on all the politics on Facebook. I'm also afraid I've been using Facebook to vent. I'm so sick of it all. Everyone is a liar, and a thief. Some bigger liars than others.
Ugh. Thanks for the reminder that I can be more positive.
My summer....weird. Being off from the ER for the last 12 weeks while I recover from shoulder surgery has made it weird.
Hope the wildfires in your neck of the woods get under control FAST!
I love chocolate covered strawberries.
I hope you are feeling better.
We don't live near our nieces or nephews, either. On David's side, we have 3 nieces and 2 nephews, and one grand-niece and one grand-nephew. On my side, we have a niece and a nephew and a grand-niece. Mine are back in South Carolina. David's are mostly around Texas, but one nephew is in the Navy and, I think, stationed in California.
I agree with you about the politics. Just get it over already! All the arguing out there and name-calling is just unreal. It's like the whole country has turned into kindergartners fighting over a swing or a see-saw or something. OY!
Have a blessed day.
Hello! Thank you for visiting my blog page again and for leaving a comment. I'm with you on the candidates shutting up until after the election. As bad as the candidates may be, the PACs are so much worse. I too am so done with this election cycle. Enjoy the rest of your week.
I enjoyed this post very much. Like you, I am so very tired of political news and name calling. I will admit I love Dairy Queen's ice cream cone dipped in chocolate! I had a rather funny Aunt who played the piano and would write music. She would ask me to play her music and then bop me with a pencil if I made a mistake! lol
LOVE LOVE all the photos!
