That's right, I should be landing right now at LaGuardia Airport! I was given a choice to travel to the UK with Mark or to go to New York. As much as I want to get back to Europe I picked NYC since I have never been.
We will be on Long Island for two nights and then it is off to New York where we will be staying at the JW Marriott Essex House Central Park. We will be staying there starting on Wednesday and leaving on Sunday.
There are so many things I want to see so we have a huge itinerary all worked out. Of course I want to go to Ellis Island where our ancestor's first stepped foot in America, The Statue of Liberty, The Empire State Building, the 9/11 Memorial and I want to see the Brooklyn Bridge.
After that there are many, many things I want to see in Central Park. I am very interested in seeing things I've seen in movies over the year's. Bethesda Fountain and Terrace is a must besides the things listed HERE. Take a look!!!
I also plan on seeing Trinity Church, Washington Square Arch, and the Woman in Gold painting at the Neue Galerie. Hopefully I will achieve everything on my list! We will also be doing the Hop On Hop Off Big Bus tours.
We also came across a Bohemian Hall and Beer Garden in Astoria where they serve pork, dumplings and sauerkraut which is a Bohemian tradition. Going to try to eat at Katz's Deli and may get a frozen treat at Serendipity 3 along with a few other well known places!
The first thing we booked was The Book of Mormon on Broadway for Thursday night with dinner reservations at Sardi's Restaurant before the musical. We also plan on seeing Time Square either before dinner or after the play.
I probably won't be online much but I will try to do the Wednesday Hodgepodge. If you are on Facebook come and follow me as I post photo's from our adventure's each day!

Oh, the bus tour is the BEST, especially if you ride on the top deck. We loved it!
You are so close to me! Enjoy NYC and beautiful Long Island. Flying into LaGuardia is the best, especially at night. Looks like you are on the water right until the last minute ;)

Good choice. I had never wanted to visit New York. However, when my nephew went to West Point, I visited for the first of several times and loved it! Have fun. We saw just about everything you listed, except we saw Phantom of the Opera.

Enjoy your stay! I went in high school with my choir to sing in Carnegie Hall. There is so much to do there. I'd like to return someday maybe.
Sounds like you're going to pack those 5 days full of things....I went to New York late Fall of 2003 and it was so exciting. Are you going to Tiffany's and Macy's?
