Volume 291
Thank you Joyce and Merry Christmas!
See you next year.....
1. What's left to be done on your Christmas to-do list?
2. The Hodgepodge lands on the first day of winter this year. What's your favorite thing about winter?
Christmas!
3. In what area of your life are you immature? Feel free to elaborate or not.
Probably when it comes it things with insurance or repair men coming to the house. I hate those things and I am very immature about it. I always want Mark to handle it.

5. It's Fried Shrimp Day...are you a fan? What's your favorite way to eat shrimp? Will there be shrimp somewhere in your holiday feastings?
I would rather eat shrimp in a cocktail type of setting. I do love them that way. I seldom eat fried anything. We will not have shrimp in our feasting.
6. What sound lulls you to sleep?
Our sound machine which is White Noise.
7. What one word best describes your 2016?
Difficult (Adam's break up in early January. My knee injury in May and hospital stay for A-Fib in August. Amber moving to Montana in November.)
8. Insert your own random thought here.
I don't have all the details yet and there are some insurance glitches happening right now. Our primary doctor changed medical groups and we were assured that any current referrals would be honored. Then I got a call on Friday about my appointment for yesterday not being covered by insurance.
So I agreed to see the doctor and pay the 20% that Medicare doesn't pay because I've been waiting for the second opinion of another doctor in the Orthopedic office. I had to give the gel injections a certain amount of time to work but they didn't work at all.
Of course on Friday I immediately called Mark crying about this insurance thing. See I am very immature on that! His office got right on it and yesterday when I went everything was covered however I have to fill out some transition forms which are super confusing.
So more to come on this as I get more detail but I need a full knee replacement. It should have happened months ago but the other guy didn't want to do it. When I left him after my last injection he said I just may have to live with it.
The new doctor I saw knows that it is too painful to live with. I am walking bone on bone, there is no cartilage at all. However there are a lot of details to be addressed because of my medical history. Your prayers are always welcome.

Prayers for the surgery and the making of the decision. I love shrimp any way you fix them but have never had them for Christmas. But I would if I thought about it.
Praying for you, Debby. I hope you can get the knee replacement sooner than later. I'm sure it will help immensely with your pain and help you to move about easier. I'm like you, I'm not good at dealing with repairmen, etc. It has been a difficult year for you; hoping 2017 is a much better one!
betty
Good thing this new doctor is in favour of a knee replacement. I hope it will happen really soon!
I am not a fan of shrimp. Never have been and probably never will be, so I will definitely not be having any shrimp this Christmas!
I'm so sorry your knee isn't getting better. Hope all goes well with the surgery and that you can get it soon!!
Merry Christmas!!
Sorry to hear about the trouble with your insurance. good grief that can be frustrating! Hope all of that gets straightened out and you can have the procedure without all the drama. Btw, my father in law is in his 80s and just had a hip replacement in October and he is doing great. Blessings, friend!
I hope 2017 is a better year for you and that you get your knee sorted out quickly. In the meantime I hope you enjoy Christmas.
I understand completely about the insurance - my is changing for next year and I am going to be having to give up a lot of my doctors. Boo.
I hope next year is a better year for your health.
You love Christmas and all the things associated with it - I can tell.
I have a sound machine too!
Merry Christmas

#3? I'm right there with you, lady!!!
We're currently going through H*** between CIGNA-Walgreens-and Tom's surgeon. His cataracht surgery's scheduled for January 12, but no-one can tell us why the 4 prescriptions are being stone-walled. AAAARGH.
Wishing you ALL a happy and very blessed Christmas!
I don't like to deal with things like insurance either. It always ends up with me yelling or insulting them because they are ridiculous. It just doesn't go well. That Bohemian Hoska looks so good! Hope y'all have a wonderful Christmas!
Prayers coming your way. Dealing with insurance is a total pain
Bone on bone: ouch! I let CH deal with a lot of insurance stuff, too...he's a lot better at it than I am. I'll just say "okay" and go with it, but he gets in there and fights.
Putting you on my prayer list!
Merry Christmas!
Debby, it comes as no surprise, we have the same answer for our favorite thing about winter :)
I didn't realize Amber has moved away. I'm sorry to hear that, as I know how it feels.
I also didn't realize you have been having knee problems. I'll keep you in my prayers. At least you've found a doctor who's willing to help!
Have a Merry Christmas,
Kathy (Reflections)
Oh I don't like dealing with the fiddly issues that don't go away either. I am sorry that you are dealing with so much knee pain. Praying that all is resolved so that you can have some good answers to your needs. Have a Merry Christmas. Too bad that Christmas comes so early in winter.
Insurance issues are not fun. I'll be praying for your knee replacement surgery. Merry Christmas Debby!
I tend to be immature about the repairmen, etc., but very often I do end up handling it myself because I never know how far away my hubby may be working. And insurance ... oh, how frustrating it can be! So sorry that you have to deal with that in addition to your knee pain.
Merry Christmas!
Every year I see you make this bread and say I have to make it! It looks so yummy!!!
Just wanted to stop by and say Merry Christmas.
I will say a prayer for you.
God bless you.
Bethany
Well first of all, Debby, I am sorry that this has been such a tough year. Truly. And as far as the knee replacement, I know people who've had it done and it has changed their lives drastically for the better. May you and your family have a blessed Christmas.
Sorry to hear about your knee problems. I am struggling with knee issues myself but am reluctant to go the surgery route. I hope things get better for you in 2017. Also thank you for your kind words re: my beloved SWMBO. Merry Christmas to you and yours and all the best of health and prosperity in the upcoming New Year.
My mother had both knees replaced in the past year - she is feeling much better and can walk easily again. I hope the same for you.
I also use a white noise machine to sleep.
