Volume 295
Thank you Joyce.
Hop on over and join in!
1. Can you believe it's the end of January? What was the best day of January 2017 for you, and why?
I'm going to say Saturday January 28th and I will be doing a post about it so you will have to wait!
2. What sounds make up the background noise in your life?
Usually a movie running on the TV or the thoughts that go on worrying about everyone!
3. I read on the Power of Positivity website a list of ten things to drop from your life right now. They are-
anger outbursts, people who put you down, regret, negative self talk, being a people pleaser, the notion you need to be perfect, the past (but keep the lessons learned!), gossip and judgment, comparing yourself to others, and the word hate (focus on what you love instead)
Which thing on the list do you most need to drop?
Being a people pleaser, anger and outbursts!
Are you trying or will you try?
Trying....
4. What is sacred to you?
My brain is in slow motion after the busy week I had in Florida and flying home on Monday evening. I can't come up with one specific thing right now.
5. January is National Oatmeal month. Are you a fan, and if so how do you like it?
Yes I am a fan. I like making it with unsweetened almond milk.
6. What feelings does twilight stir up in you?
A beautiful sunset and things that go bump in the night.
7. Something you're looking forward to next month?
I'm not sure at this time but it would be wonderful if my dad could return home and I could go help him settle in for a few weeks.
8. Insert your own random thought here.
I flew home on Monday afternoon. My dad is doing okay, his mind is amazing but his body is recovering slowly. Doing rehab at 93 is not an easy task.
Even though he lived alone and did things each day doesn't mean your in great shape physically, not to mention recovering from the hip surgery. We are hopeful he will be up and moving soon.

my thoughts and head make up my background noise
Hoping and praying your dad can return home to live independently! Can't wait to hear about what happened January 28th. Does sound a bit interesting and exciting!
betty
I'm so glad to hear your dad is recovering so well! Continuing to pray for him and you!!
I am so glad to hear your dad's mind is coming back so well. that is great news, prayers for him healing and able to live alone again. the noise in my life is CNN blasting from dawn to dusk. arhhhhhhhhh
So glad your dad is getting better. Praying!
Oh gee!!!!! How could I forget to mention sunsets? I absolutely LOVE sunsets and take so many pics of them, it's crazy! Thanks for the reminder. :-)
Praying for your Dad and for you.
I like how you said "things that go bump in the night" Ha! ;-)
That's wonderful that your dad's mind is so sharp. Hopefully he will make good progress with the rehab and recovery. My dad will be 94 this year and has been in a nursing home for 6 months or so. His short-term memory was so bad he would forget to eat. But he is doing great now that he has people to watch out for him every day.
I like oatmeal. I used to make thick pancakes with them and eat them hot with sugar syrup after a long day at work. Mmmmm
I've been wondering about your dad, and how he is doing. Hopefully, he'll get well enough to go back home. Rehab is tough at any age, much less 93. I'll continue to pray for him.
((hugs)) to you,
Kathy (Reflections)
I have a noisy head too. Maybe that's why I need a quiet house? Continuing to think of your dad as he recovers. Rehab is not easy, no matter our age and I can't imagine at 93. Will keep him in my prayers. Hope there is happy news re: your son : )
I hope all goes well with your dad, Debby. It is wonderful that his mind is still sharp. That's such a blessing! I hope you're having a good week.
Praying with you that your dad will be able to come home and settle in. He sounds pretty amazing and, at 93, has a right to have had a few medical issues. My dad will be 87 this month...he's been in the ER twice this week. Sigh. We shall just trust them to God knowing that The Lord will see them through. The 28th, eh? Nudge me if I forget to show up!
My background noise is a combo of my thoughts and the ipod-on-shuffle that is my brain.
Love these random thoughts but love your pictures of nature more! Loved the most recent one with the birds! Keep up the good work! And i like twilight too, signals the end to another day and the rest that is ours in Jesus!
Appreciated the thoughts in your head reference. I think most of us can identify with you on that. More battles are fought in our minds aren't they. Glad you are home and can rest a bit before tackling those other tasks.
That's a great idea about the almond milk. Lovvvvve that liquid goodness. :)
..... Still holding your amazing dad in my prayers.
You have got to be exhausted. I don't think I'd have much left at this point. :) My anger and outbursts have gotten calmer over the years. Thank goodness!
I'm not as bad about anger outbursts as I used to be butbstill every now and then.
Ive never been real crazy about oatmeal but Quaker has a cranberry and apple one that I really like
I don't like any background noise! I like things quiet. My three boys don't always appreciate that though ;-)
First of all I hope your dad recovers. I know it has been a lot for you. I pray every single day to drop those habits and become a better person. I love a beautiful sunset too! And waves to listen to for the background. Sandie
Sunsets can be so gorgeous. God really is such a wonderful artist! I hope your dad recovers quickly and that you get to go back this month and get him settled back in to home.
I hope that your daddy is going to be okay and very soon. Hopefully he can take it easy and can be back in his own home again. You're all in my prayers. {{{Hugs}}}
Praying for your dad!
Here is to your dad. Hoping he can get back in the swing of things soon. Have a great week.
Love seeing your answers. So glad you dad is home and recovering. We should all be so blessed to have such a long life. My mother died at 61 and my sister died 4 days before her 65 bd. Hope you settle back in and get some rest.
Hugs,
Noreen
I can't believe the January we've had either. It is certainly one for the record books. I'm impressed with your 93 year old Dad going through hip surgery. I wish him a speedy recovery and robust health. Thanks for visiting my blog page. Have a great week.
my background is always a movie or a show I need to catch up on :)
