Volume 310
Thank you Joyce
1. The Hodgepodge lands on June 14th this week, Flag Day in the US of A. Do you fly your country's flag at home? Sometimes, often, or every single day? Have you ever visited the city of Brotherly Love (Philadelphia)? Did you make a point of seeing The Betsy Ross House? Have you ever made a trip to Baltimore? If so, was Fort McHenry on your itinerary? (where Francis Scott Key was inspired to write The Star Spangled Banner)
We do not have a flag to fly. I have always wanted to have one. I do have some small flags that go into the ground that I put out for the 4th of July. I have not been to Philadelphia and I have never been to Baltimore either.
2. Red flag or white flag? Which have you encountered most recently? Explain.
2. Red flag or white flag? Which have you encountered most recently? Explain.
I would love to wave a white flag and stop time. I am tired and exhausted in a way that I haven't felt for a long time. This year has been nothing but non-stop action and I don't see it slowing down anytime soon.
Not that there haven't been great times along the way, I just need time to catch my breath!
3. Are you a stay in the car listen to the end of a song kind of person? What kind of person is that?
No I can't say that I am that person now but I believe I did that years ago. I would have done that back in the day listening to the radio in the car.
4. What are some of the traits or qualities you think a good dad possesses? In other words, what makes a good dad? What's an expression you associate with your father?
4. What are some of the traits or qualities you think a good dad possesses? In other words, what makes a good dad? What's an expression you associate with your father?
A man who takes the time to listen and loves his children more than anything else in the world.
There are two things that I associate with my father. The first one he has been saying for at least 30 years now "Don't Grow Old" which was a saying that his mother would say to him.
Something that my father started saying many years ago before it became a popular saying is "Love You More!"
5. What's one rule you always disagreed with while growing up? Is that rule somehow still part of your adult life? Is that a good or bad thing?
Finish everything on your plate! It is not a part of my adult life but it was something I did with my own children when they were younger.

We had a lovely time with our company, Mark's mom Vivian, his sister Michele and her spouse Pam. It was a perfect weekend and the Fiesta Couples Shower that Adam and Gabby had was fabulous.
I hope to write a post about their party but I still have a post to write from our trip to Montana. Time is something I haven't had lately and I take off to Florida tomorrow! I shared this next photo on Facebook to show everyone what a great time Adam and Gabby were having at their party......

Gabby and Adam are such a cute couple! Their shower sounded fun. Enjoy your time in Florida with your dad.

Wishing your couple much happiness! I also wish for you safe travels and some rest!

Those are great pics of a very lovely couple. Wishing them happiness and you to have some rest. Maybe at your dad's? I hope so. It isn't good for your health. Even good things can be stressful.
I think they are such a cute couple - I know you have been on a world wind. I hope your dad is doing better and you can relax a little on your trip there. You need to take some time to rest before surgery. Love, sandie
I don't think I ever finished listening to a song, although I have actually finished reading a book before leaving the bus (which I had been driving and NO, I didn't read and drive).
Love the photo of your son and soon to be daughter-in-law. So happy and so much fun.
I love both photos of them at the party, the fun shows on their faces. I like having couples showers, we went to a couple but that was 20 years ago. we don't know anyone but old people so no showers now..
I sometimes sit in the garage when listening to talk show on the radio if it is something interesting ...
I will only stay in the car to finish a favorite song - like anything by Ed Sheeran!
Company is so fun! Sweet pictures!
I stay in the car often to hear the end of a good song.
I saw the pics on FB and they are such a cute couple!!
Safe travels and take it easy in FLorida and soak up every second with your dad.
I hope you find time to relax while in Florida, although I'm sure it will be busy too. So glad the shower was lots of fun! They surely do look happy!
*Chuckle* ... My parents used to tell me to clean my plate, too. Me and my bathroom scales wish I hadn't taken that so much to heart!
Wishing you safe travels, restful nights' sleep and scads of fun!
What a lovely couple they are. We used to put a flag out but our holder broke and we never got a new one
Adam and Gabby look happy. Makes a mom happy too, doesn't it. Sorry you're feeling so tired. Sounds like you won't get a break for a while. My daughter liked to say 'love you more' until I started responding, 'love you less.' I don't think she realized how it had always made me feel until I said that.
I had that clean plate rule, too and I didn't like it. I did not have that rule for my girls. They stopped when they were full and I'm convinced that's a huge part of why they aren't overweight like I am. I can't wait to see both posts. Just post LOADS of pictures! :) So glad y'all had a great time!
What sweet expressions your dad had! I really like "Don't grow old."
They are so cute and they look like they are having a great time. I hope you get some time to rest while you are with your father. Have a safe trip.
I have never flown the flag Debby. Guess I have never been much of a flag waver.
Hope you are doing well.
They are a gorgeous couple!
Happy looking couple!
I will occasionally stay in my car to hear out the end of a song, but not often.
