Volume 311
~Thank you Joyce~
1. The first day of summer rolls in later this week. What are ten things you'd put on your list of quintessential summer activities? Will you try to manage all ten this summer?
Hiking, swimming, picnics, road trips, etc., and no I do not have any plans to do those things. We would like to drive up to Montana again but that is pending because of my knee replacement.
I must say that living in Southern California for some 29 years now I really don't think that much about summer. We have pretty nice weather all year long so they are all available throughout the year.
2. Do you collect seashells when you're at the beach? What do you do with them once you get them home? What's your favorite place to comb for seashells? How many of these 'best beaches for hunting seashells' have you visited? Which one would you most like to visit?
Calvert Cliffs State Park (Maryland), Jeffrey's Bay (South Africa), Sanibel Island (Florida), Shipwreck Beach (Lanai Hawaii), Ocracoke Island (North Carolina), Galveston Island (Texas) and The Bahamas
I haven't been to any of those beaches. I would probably enjoy going to the Bahamas. I will be going to Cancun in November for Adam and Cabby's wedding!
Yes I love collecting seashells. I've had them in mason jars although I don't have any filled right now but I have some shells in random places. I'm going to say the beach in Carlsbad, CA is one of my favorites although it doesn't have a massive amount of shells.
3. At a snail's pace, shell out money, come out of your shell, go back into your shell, drop a bombshell, happy as a clam, clam up...which 'shell' phrase could most recently be applied to some event or circumstance in your life? Explain.

Shell out money!! All inclusive resort in Cancun for 5 nights. Plus we are helping Amber and Dylan to get there for the wedding. Not to mention that we just did the flooring in the family room, carpeting in two bedrooms, a new mattress and bedding!
4. What summer activity do you dislike? Why?
I'm not coming up with anything I dislike.
5. What's something you see as quickly becoming obsolete? Does that bother you?
Well the DVD isle at Target keeps getting smaller and smaller. It isn't going anywhere at this moment but it does bother me that I won't be able to buy DVD's anymore.

I like your random thought. My mom used to enjoy collecting seashells. Sometimes she made crafts out of them. Hope you are enjoying your time in Florida.

I like your random thought, too, and I feel your pain over shelling out money. Enjoy the wedding!
A destination wedding in Cancun...how fun! That's where we went on our honeymoon nearly 28 years ago. We're planning Brittany's wedding right now...shelling out money is the name of the game, it seems.
Ain't that the truth! Wow! You have some very exciting plans for autumn. One season living must be a real drag, right? Indulge me here. 🤓
I don't shop at Target very often, but I do remember when they used to have tons of dvds to choose from. Your trip sounds fun!
A November wedding in Cancun sounds like a great way to spend Fall. It'll be here before we know it, too.
I didn't realize DVD's are becoming obsolete. I guess digital is becoming the new thing. I'm so outdated!
I hope you get your knee replacement, and all goes well. So far, I haven't had any knee problems--yet.

Smile while you still have teeth--- LOL Good one! I can't wait to see all the pictures from the wedding. You sure have been shelling out money. But the floors look fantastic and the wedding, well, it's a wedding. And, your sweet Adam is so happy. It seems a pretty good time for y'all right now. :)
Love what you said about 29 years in California. #jealous ツ
Smile - I like that - funny. So the DVD's are getting smaller - you think because they are all on television and we can get them there or what? You are going to be shelling some money out for those things for sure! But it goes for a good cause. Hope you are having a nice time in Florida. Love, sandie
I may be asking you later about that all inclusive resort in Cancun. That's the way to go. Your year sounds as expensive as ours, but at least yours comes with a vacation and celebration! Do you ever get tired of warm weather? I hope you are enjoying your time with your dad. That's wonderful.
I know you are enjoying this special time with your Dad. Hoping you can get your knee surgery right away so you will have plenty of time to be good as new before the wedding. Happy rest of the week!
I almost always bring home shells and pebbles when I travel.
Summer year round....jealous!!
I could get used to living in a place that had nice weather year round. Winter lasts too long around here
Cancun in November sounds wonderful! And what a great occasion! I'll have to say though that Southern California sounds pretty wonderful also, especially when I think of our months of January through March. Sure would be nice to spend them in Southern California! I don't suppose you'd want to trade houses for a few months. LOL
Montana looks so beautiful, I think it would be an amazing place to see. Your random made me laugh :)
Great 'random'! I remember thinking it was so cute when adolescent boys and girls would smile with their lips together because they were self-conscious about their teeth.
Thinking of you enjoying time with your dad....
DVDs are one thing I am not upset about going obsolete! They were never a viable storage format; too easily broken or scratched.
My landlord brought back some pebbles from Denmark last year, making a little display by the front door. Very pretty. I prefer those to sea shells.
The one thing I hate about summer activities: mowing the lawn! I just want to enjoy the nice weather. Oh, and guess what: I can now. The landlord does the mowing...
It seems like any technology is here today and gone tomorrow. DVDs will go the way of VHS. You can still find a VHS recorder from time to time, but no tapes. Streaming seems to be the wave of the future. Have a great day.
My husband says the same thing about when he lived in CA.
Hahaha! That last quote actually made me laugh out loud. And I definitely needed a laugh!
Good luck with the knee replacement. I may have that procedure in my future as well. I have severely arthritic knees. I'm being treated with cortisone shots. It takes the edge of the pain but it's just a stop gap measure, or so I'm told.
Re: Your random thought...teeth are unnecessary for smiling. Just saying!
Thanks for your visit(s) to my blog page. Enjoy your week.
Lucky Girl ... you are right on...perfect weather in Southern California.

I don't think we've even hooked up the DVD player in the new house. Definitely a sign of the times! I enjoy the changing seasons for now, although I am really happy to have mild winters in SC. Hope you're feeling good! Happy summer!
I like your random thought, too. My teeth are wrecked due to an enamel deficiency, so big, open smiles are a thing of the past, but I do still smile. :)
I hope you're having a wonderful time there in Florida with your daddy.
Have a blessed weekend.
OMG I so far behind! Finally caught up :)
