1. Is a picture worth a thousand words? Elaborate.
2. Have you ever driven any part of the Pacific Coast Highway? If so what was your favorite stop? If not, is this sort of trip on your bucket list?
After living in California for 28 years I am sad to say that we haven't really driving much of it at all and yes that is on my bucket list!
3. How do the changing seasons affect you? As the seasons change do you find yourself looking more forward or backward? Which season-season transition bothers you most? Why do you suppose that is?
They don't effect me that much here in Southern California but I will admit that this has been an extremely hot summer for us and I am definitely ready for some Fall weather.
4. It's your birthday and you get to pick the dinner menu. What are we having? Do you ever lie about your age?
My birthday will be here in about 20 days! I would like some Mushroom Risotto from Mario's Place in Riverside and I would love the Warm Sticky Toffee dessert from Westside Tavern in Los Angeles. If all goes as planned we will be in Montana for my birthday. No I never lie about my age.
5. What's a life lesson you've learned recently?
We can't control the weather!
6. Insert your own random thought here.
If you follow me on Facebook you would have read that my family is safe in Florida. They were all over at my Dad's who is on high ground and wasn't evacuated. Their power is out and they have had to empty all of their refrigerators, however they are all alive and that is all that matters!

Glad your family wss okay during the hurricane. I know you were very concerned about them, as anyone would be. The Pacific coast is so beautiful, hope you get to do the drive soon. How neat to be in Montana for your upcoming birthday.
Betty
I've only accidentally lied about my age for a whole year. I had my numbers mixed up and told everyone I was a year older than I really was. Imagine my surprise and delight when I got to be that age for another whole year. LOL
I was never that bothered about the seasons and actually liked autumn the best. But this year that all changed: it seems like it has been autumn from March until now, with a few nice summery days thrown in to tempt us. I am sick and tired of rain and wind and cold I can tell you!
Glad your Dad and other family members are safe.
So glad your family fared pretty well. No power is so aggravating, but as you say perspective is everything.
Thank you for the update regarding your dad. I was wondering.
We have a friend in Tampa, he rode out the storm.
The clean up is a pain, but like you shared, THANKFUL to be alive, is the main thing.
Back to Great Falls for your birthday. Yippee! We were planning to go in September, but with the tornado clean up, needing a new roof on the house and garage, we just are not able to swing it this autumn.
You need to go to the coastal highway! And I do admit that the weather there is beautiful and not much different from one season to another.
Happy birthday in 20 days! And no we cannot control the weather - I am so glad your father and family are safe. I am sorry for the loss he and your family and all of Florida and Texas and Mexico have had!
So glad your Florida family fared well. What a terrible situation for so many. Will Y'all be driving to Montana? All this talk about birthday food has made me hungry today. LOL
Perfect pictures to prove the point in question 1. Glad to hear your family is all safe
Those pictures tell a story for sure. The Sticky Toffee Pudding is one of our favorites, too. Hope you can go to Montana and that the fires are put out soon! Happy Hodgepodge to you!
So thankful your family is safe from the storm. Enjoyed reading your responses and the photos, they certainly told a story that we will always remember. Thanks for sharing.
blessings,
Sue
Oh my! I've never heard of it, but that warm sticky toffee dessert looks to die for!
Thanking God for your Florida family's great outcome!
1. Is a picture worth a thousand words? Elaborate.
Yes...a normal pic can say so much. But a pic that is history changing like the twin towers says so much.
2. Have you ever driven any part of the Pacific Coast Highway? If so what was your favorite stop? If not, is this sort of trip on your bucket list?
I don't know....haha My sis in law and I took off up the coast from San Diego to La Jolla, she drove, not sure if that was the highway you are talking about. This was in 2011 when we were there for my son's wedding.
It was a amazing drive. I love Calif.
3. How do the changing seasons affect you? As the seasons change do you find yourself looking more forward or backward? Which season-season transition bothers you most? Why do you suppose that is?
I love FALL so this season change is amazing for me. Going into winter and summer not so much. I have Fibromyalgia so winter and summer affect me badly. I tend to find myself looking backwards as I age.
4. It's your birthday and you get to pick the dinner menu. What are we having? Do you ever lie about your age?
Happy Bday to you in 20 days!!! Pretty simple, take me to Outback for some steak and taters and I am fine. I never lie about my age...it is what it is.
5. What's a life lesson you've learned recently?
to relax...that took me years and it is not one I learned recently but it one that I am glad I learned.
6. Insert your own random thought here.
Random thought - There is no place like home. I have spent the last week at my brothers house - house/bird and dog sitting. Glad to be home.
The seasons definitely affect me. I love spring, summer and fall, but dread the gray days and cold of winter.
