Volume 323
Thank you Joyce :)
Play along here....
1. What pets did you have while growing up? Tell us a little something about them.
We had a few dogs but I don't remember taking care of them at all. I had a bunny once and a white mouse which Santa brought me one year.
2. What is one thing you absolutely must accomplish today?
Bowling first thing! (Don't worry, I'm just standing at the line throwing my ball) Then I need to clean house, do laundry and get packing.....
3. Where were you ten years ago? What were you doing there?
I was here in our house most likely doing laundry. Or maybe I was at the show! I have no clue what I was doing but on October 27th we will be in this house for 11 years so I know I was here.
4. September 26th is National Dumpling Day. Did you celebrate? Apple dumpling, xiao long bao (steamed Chinese dumpling), chicken and dumplings, pirogi, matzoh balls, or gnocchi...which dumpling on this list would be your dumpling of choice? Have you ever made homemade dumplings of any kind?
5. 'There are two kinds of adventurers: those who go truly hoping to find an adventure and those who go secretly hoping they don't.' William Trogdon
So which kind are you?
I think I want to find an adventure! (but no danger)
6. Insert your own random thought here.
I apologize for not being caught up here on reading posts. I'm at least a week behind and since I am heading to Montana this Saturday I am sure I won't be getting caught up anytime soon!

bob talks about fruit dumplings, something I have never had, but I was raised on chicken n dumplings, an excellent way to stretch chicken for a whole family of four. 10 years ago I was busy volunteering at the nursing home, just 1 year after retirement. the good thing about retirement is I never have one thing that I MUST accomplish today... unless it is a doc appt.
Those fruit dumplings look good; I don't think I've had those. Ten years ago... I was working full time, in much better health and physical shape. I guess that's what I miss most about working; I did a lot of walking. I am happy you are getting out and doing some bowling, even if it's at the line... sounds fun. I have always loved the old woman in the shoe... love the cartoon!
Hi Debby!!
We had some cats and dogs. I didn't do a good job taking care of them. So someone else did that. OHh, I can't imagine a mouse as a pet.
Have fun bowling. I haven't been bowling in ages..
We have lived in our present house over 15 years, so I have to say I was in our house and probably on the computer.
I love chicken & dumplings
I love an adventure..
Have fun this weekend and btw, I like that cartoon. I just had to laugh. Thanks!
I had no idea about this WHP thing, and all of a sudden I have stumbled upon several blogs who participate! Maybe it's a sign?
Know that I am sitting here beyond envious of your bowling!
You should never feel like you have to apologize for being behind. I think we've all been there, and I'm still there!
Oh, a white mouse for Christmas! You must've had a really nice mom :) I tolerated a guinea pig and a hamster, but couldn't have dealt with a mouse...
It was good to catch up with you, and I hope you have safe travels to Montana :)

I so understand the struggle to read blogs now and then. I've really dropped that ball, and try to pick it up now and then but it's difficult. We're traveling this month twice, plus I have company coming so another busy go round here. Just do the best you can and enjoy Montana!
Those fruit dumplings look delicious! I'm going to have to find a recipe for those. Enjoy your trip to Montana! Safe travels there and back!
I had a dog and a hampster when I was growing up. I would have liked a cat too but my mother didn't like cats.
Sometimes it's hard to get caught up with reading and if I get too far behind I dont even try to read all I missed. You'll get to it eventually, no worries
Haha, I like that cartoon! Enjoyed reading your podge. Have fun in Montana!
Yay on your going bowling again!
You know, I can't recall ever having had a dumpling.
Have fun on your Montana adventure!
Great on going bowling again. You know I just wrote about Disco -He;s the only dog I have ever had and I love him to death. Don't worry about reading and answering blogs - do it if and when you have time. Let the worry goooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!
Good news that you can bowl again.
I had one cat as a child and of course, now I have 6 plus a dog!
Please do not worry about reading blogs - just do what you can and enjoy life!
Enjoy Montana. It should be beautiful and also fairly cold.
I always love reading these. It is so good to get to know you better.
Loved the cartoon :) Sorry I didn't comment sooner. I read this on Wednesday morning when I was on my tablet. Its hard to write comments on it so I usually wait until the evening to write comments and then I totally forgot. Have a great time in Montana! Should be great weather and plenty of leaves starting to change. Glad you are able to bowl again!
betty
My sister and I had pirogi (Polish or Russian dumplings) when we were in Poland last year and I have been wanting to make them myself ever since. I have not gotten around to it yet though and have so many other projects going right now, it might take a while longer before it finally happens!
Have a good trip North!
It is easy enough to fall behind on reading and commenting on blogs. We have a system here. I sit and read books and comics on line and Suzanne sends me the links to posts I need to comment on. Then, I read more comics and she cooks, cleans, posts, and goes to the mailbox. It works for us.
I'm way behind on posts, too. I don't think catching up is possible for me at this point. While I'm clearing one thing off my to-do list, 40 more hop onto it!
I think fruit dumplings sound really good.
I hope you're doing well. Have a blessed week. :)
