WEDNESDAY HODGEPODGE

Volume 331
~ Thank you Joyce ~

1.  What's something blogging has taught you about yourself?

It has taught me that I can trust people that I barely knew with my heart, that I do have something to say and that it is nice to have someone listen to me.

Something else is that I still haven't decluttered my house which is something I've been blogging and complaining about for years on end. I talk the talk but I don't walk the walk.

2.  Leftovers...are you in the 'reheat and eat' camp or the 'put them in the fridge until they spoil and then toss them' camp? What's your favorite thing to have leftover? What can you not abide as a leftover?

Reheat and eat for us. We finished the last of it up on Monday and it was so enjoyable. I have to say I loved the dressing with gravy. I think I like all of them

3. 'Me time'...your thoughts?

My me time is usually going to the show. I have a lot of me time here at home daily. I actually crave together time most days.

4. When people come to you for help, what do they usually want help with?

Gosh I'm not sure but money comes to mind!

5. If your childhood had a smell what would it be? Tell us why.

My grandmothers chocolate chip cookies in the oven. Each summer my mothers parents would spend a few months with us. Our basement was set up with an open concept kitchen, bedroom, bathroom and TV area.

They would take a break from the Florida heat. A few other things would be pork, dumplings and sauerkraut along with the smell of fruit dumpling.

6. Insert your own random thought here.

I have a little story to share from Cancun. The men and women working there love to get American dollar bills as a tip. On one particular day we were having drinks at the pool of their family resort next door.

We ended up running out of dollar bills so before we left I gave the waitress a $20. bill. She came up to me a few minutes later and said "You saved my life today!" My heart was so happy that we were able to help her.

I ended up giving her another $20. bill before we took off and told her that I also wanted to save her day tomorrow!

Your random thought today is heartwarming. LOVE it. Leftovers here are me yes, him no. I can eat leftovers for days he barely is able to eat them a second day. He hates eating the same thing two days in a row.

You will start decluttering the house at the right time when you need to. I love your random thought. Such a kind gesture you did for the maid!

I do love left-overs, particularly during the holidays. I love your random thought. How sweet of you to do that for her! I love that your grandparents visited during the summer months. I spent as much time with my grandparents as possible but mostly it was just weekends until summer came around. Then I could spend weeks with them. Their house was my favorite place to be. Have a wonderful Wednesday!

You are so incredibly sweet. You made a difference is that young lady's life.

I almost smelled your grandmother's cookies in the oven. Such a sweet memory.

You were so sweet to your server; she will remember you forever! My childhood smells have to do with with fresh dirt, fresh vegetables, my mom cooking those fresh vegetables, the smell of rain, the ocean... nice memories!

your random thought is my favorite story. I love it. glad you made 2 days for her.
the smell I remember is every Sunday we woke up to the smell of slow cooking Sunday dinner, mother had the timer come on at 5 am for roast or ham so it would be done by noon for Sunday dinner, tht is lunch to most of you.... I need more ME time, bob is home most of the time. I use my ME time to watch movies he doesn't like. and tv shows. I learned the same thing as you did for blogging

Oh Debby what a precious story and to know that God used you to bring not only help to that lady but to encourage her with your goodness. And, if anything from getting to know you through our blogging, it is that you have a good heart. I love that about you.

What a wonderful gesture! One never knows what challenges other folks may be facing .... what a simple $20 bill can mean. You're a Christmas angel, my friend.

I love the sweet story of you helping the waitress. What a blessing for her. I love to have left overs and the ease of just warming something quick. My hubby, not so much. Sweet memories of your grandmother too.

Me time for me is the time at home, on my own, by myself. After a day with colleagues and passengers, that is really important for me to help me unwind.

I agree with you on #1...it is easier for me to write what's on my heart and I like you, it does somehow seem "safe" to share some things that maybe we wouldn't normally. I hope you have a great weekend, Debby!
