AT THE MOVIES

Well we certainly have been to the movies several times since Mark retired. We have been going on Tuesday's since it is half price popcorn day and then on Thursday's he goes to the shooting range.

Trying to settle into a bit of routine although I really feel like I need to push myself to do the normal things I was doing while he was at work.

On July 3rd we saw Deadpool 2. We loved the first one a lot and this one didn't disappoint. Yes it is bloody but Ryan Reynolds definitely makes us laugh.
"Foul-mouthed mutant mercenary Wade Wilson (AKA. Deadpool), brings together a team of fellow mutant rogues to protect a young boy with supernatural abilities from the brutal, time-traveling cyborg, Cable."

On July 10th we went to see Jurassic World 2. I love all the Jurassic movies and this one was very good. Of course it always helps when you like the cast. I recently watched all the other's before we went to see this one. Hard to believe that Jurassic Park came out in 1993.
"When the island's dormant volcano begins roaring to life, Owen and Claire mount a campaign to rescue the remaining dinosaurs from this extinction-level event."

On July 17th we went to see Ocean's 8. This movie was good but I definitely expected more from it. I think I even started to fall asleep. I never do that! Of course I did love the cast and I'm glad I saw it.
"Debbie Ocean gathers an all-female crew to attempt an impossible heist at New York City's yearly Met Gala."

On July 20th we went to see TAG. Of course this wasn't a Tuesday, we saw two movies that week. Mark didn't want to see this at the show, he wanted to wait until it was out on DVD from Netflix.

I had a few friends that saw it with their husbands and they really enjoyed it. Well so did we! This was a very entertaining movie and I enjoyed the cast too.
"A small group of former classmates organize an elaborate, annual game of tag that requires some to travel all over the country."

Then is week, July 24th, we went to see Sicario: Day of the Soldado. This of course is one that Mark definitely wanted to see. It was a very good movie. It opened my eyes to a lot of things I didn't know about our boarders. I must admit that I think Benicio Del Toro is very handsome.
"The drug war on the U.S.-Mexico border has escalated as the cartels have begun trafficking terrorists across the US border. To fight the war, federal agent Matt Graver re-teams with the mercurial Alejandro."

You have seen a lot of movies. I've only seen the first Jurassic Park movie.
I've noticed now that it's just me living alone, I tend to get more done around the house.

I really want to see that movie Sicario. My husband and I both like benicio del toro. The last movie I've seen at theatre was the Greatest Showmen which was quite a while ago. I am really trying to make time to go see the Mr rogers movie before it leaves theatres.

I really want to see TAG - I think that whole idea is hilarious!
I want to see the new Jurassic Park but I get so upset when the 'good' dinos get hurt & I know Chris Pratt character is starting to befriend some of the dinos & that'll just make me sadder if something happens to them.

We saw the previews for Tag, I thought it sounded cute. We'll probably wait to see the new Jurassic one when it comes out to rent. Our theaters here for a bit (the Harkins ones, I don't think they are in California) have been doing $7.00 movies for a bit, no matter what time of day you go, no matter how old you are, etc. Probably a good way to get more people to spend money on concessions (I always complain about how expensive water is at the movies).

The only one that floats by boat is TAG. I'd not even heard of it, but then I'm pretty much living under a rock over here … lol.
How neat that you and Mark are able to resume 'dating' like you did way back when! :)

Okay deadpool - what do you think his children will think of him years from now - so foul mouthed.

Oceans Eleven 11 - liked.

Jurassic Park was excellent - did you know the girl was Ron Howard's (Opie's) daughter?

If you go see Mamma Mia 2 - let me know what you think!

I did want to see Ocean's 8, but heard it was basically the same plot as Ocean's 11, so I guess I will wait until it comes to tv. I would like to see Mamma Mia 2 though. It sounds like such a fun film.

Debbie, you are lucky to have a hubby that enjoys going to the movies. Mine would rather work in the garden, imagine that. So Daughter and I went to see Mama Mia and we enjoyed this musical. We had planned to see Jurassic World 2 so I watched the first on Amazon to be prepared but then she backed out on me. Should have gone on alone. She is only off two days a week so it makes it hard to fit everything in. Our movie club seems to have dissolved. Perhaps I could get it going again.
Thanks for your reviews.

I would like to see Jurassic World 2 but hubby doesn't. So if I went I'd have to go alone. I look forward to your August movies. Have a great weekend, Debby!

The last movie we saw was "I Can Only Imagine" so that gives you an idea how long its been since we went to one. We are so selective about the movies we see that we find it difficult to find one we both would enjoy. We might would like TAG, so will check that one out. I've also heard mixed reviews on Ocean 8 and Mama Mia #2.

As you know, I've been 'out of touch' for a while, so I'm catching up. I didn't know that your husband has retired! Good for him. Retirement takes some adjusting, but it sounds like y'all are figuring things out. Movies in the afternoon sounds nice :) (Kathy)

Have not seen any of those Debby. Thanks for writing about them.

Saw the Mama Mia sequel on Friday and really enjoyed it.

Watched 3 Billboards last night on HBO and liked it too.

May write about them if I get a bit of inspiration.
