If you follow me on Facebook you have seen some of these photos. We went over to Adam and Gabby's on Sunday to watch football and celebrate Adam's 41st birthday.
Back in 2009 Fisher Price put some of their retro toys back on the market. Yes I bought one! So I saw it sitting in the closet and thought that it was time to bring it over for James to play with. I wasn't really keeping it as a collectible. I just spotted it when I was putting Christmas away.
He was giving me raspberries here. This toy kept him busy for over an hour. Of course he knows nothing about this type of phone!!
So I was showing him how you talk on a phone like this. He already knows "hello" from his pretend cell phone. So we just had to say "hello" to him and he caught on pretty quickly.
This was Adam's birthday celebration. We watched the football games, ordered in some food from Islands which was Adam choice and then enjoyed the ice cream cake Gabby picked up for him.
Make a wish....
It was a good day!

I once had some teenagers on board who wanted to watch a video. Well, my bus wasn't equipped with a dvd-player yet, only the video. Not a clue as to what to do with it. The youth of today!!!
Cute!! . 😂😂😂 I always loved that toy! I have a retro phone as decor and my grandkids love playing with it.
I love the cake, it might be my most favorite of all cakes. if I could eat one I would want one like it. so happy he liked the phone and belated happy Birthday to Adam
How fun for James with the phone! Isn't it amazing how such a "simple" thing like this can cause so much joy and fun with the little ones? Definitely a hit! That cake looks delicious! Sounded like a great birthday celebration for Adam! I do like Islands with their hamburgers and their fries! I hope today is a nice one for you Debby!

I'm pretty sure my son had one of those phones, too. Never occurred to me (that) today's kids would have no idea.
So Adam's but 41? Is there a significance to the 6 candles?
HAPPY BIRTHDAY ADAM!
Hey I remember those phones - my kids had them and I think Andy. Good memories.

The last time I was in Walmart I saw a display of those phones. I almost bought one for Presley.
Adams cake looks really good
I remember that toy phone! I love that your grandson played with it for so long. Those old toys really were fun to play with!
Oh my goodness - James is just adorable! Any toy that can keep a toddler busy for an hour is tops in my book ♥
Your grand baby is so cute. They learn fast these days.
That takes me back. We (my sibs and I) had one of those. And I bought one for my own kids.
