WHAT CAN I SAY ..... THIS SUCKS!

I'm use to being home. I don't go out that often but I miss my James, my bowling and going to the show. No big deal on bowling and the show but James is a big deal for me.  I have pictures which help but there is more to this story.

Mark and I are staying in. We haven't even had to go grocery shopping yet. It would be nice to have some fresh fruit and veggies in the house but otherwise we are very well stocked. We had filled our freezer with meat before we left for Montana. We have a great supply of frozen pizza from Chicago.

Our pantry is always full because I tend to buy too much which right now is a good thing. Seriously we can still go several weeks without needing anything. First thing to go will probably be the TP but I'm not worried about that at this time. I'm sure I will be able to order from somewhere in the next few weeks

We do have canned organic veggies from Costco and I have dried fruit from Trader Joe's. Only ingredient is the dried fruit! We didn't rush out to buy anything.

We haven't actually been bottle water users for several years now although we keep some in the frig for company. Do people think our water supply is going to get the virus or be shut off?

I feel bad for the people who have to work, especially those in the hospital. I worry about all of them and especially our son in law Dylan along with him bringing something home to Amber.

Then we have Adam and Gabby working from home but they are still taking James to daycare. Yes you read that right! Believe me their daycare lady Jenny is amazing and very cautious all the time. They say it's good for James to play and better for them when trying to work from home. I politely gave them my opinion and left it at that.

Well this grandmother is furious.  Jenny doesn't watch but a handful of children and I'm not sure if they are even all there at this time. However my thoughts are what if these other kids parents are still working in an office!!! Right???

In my head I had been thinking that if we are all inside our homes for at least two weeks then there is no reason we can't get in our car and visit with them. So obviously that is not possible until they are all home for 2 weeks and I don't see that happening anytime soon.

Okay, I'm stepping down from my soapbox.....

Well I can feel your grandparenting at a distance pain as ours are in South Korea. Facetime is a wonderful thing but obviously not the same as in person contact. I think you are so right in that unless everyone is staying put you are at risk with contact. Keep staying home and away from others though. James needs a healthy grandma when this is all over! Also, can't remember if you commented or saw my post but I am going to take a stab at reviving the Wednesday Hodgepodge beginning next week. Look for questions on Tuesday. Another way to virtually connect : )

I agree with you. That is why I told my daughter to leave the kids with us instead of them going to her after school care place. We have plenty of fresh fruit and the grands get lunches from the school and they get apples and carrots in every meal.

James is adorable! I hope you will get to see him soon. I know day cares are open here still. With the schools closed and work schedules the wee one here has not been going because his teenage sister cab watch him for a few hours. I too would be concerned about James picking up something. I know the wee one's day care changed some policies about picking up kids. It's scary times out there. We just keep praying and trusting. Hubby thinks supplies should start picking up in stores in the next 2 to 4 weeks.

This is a difficult time for all of us, especially us Moms and Grandmas.
I worry about my son as he's a nurse in the Emergency Department at his hospital. Things are stressful and dangerous there. Always praying for he and his family.
Stay safe and well.
We still walk around the block to get some exercise but pretty much are sheltering in place. We are of "That age".

Oh...I was relieved when my niece pulled her son out of daycare. I hope your grandson gets to stay home too. That's crazy!

Oh my gosh, Debby! I can certainly understand your concerns -- and, at the same time, wanting to 'keep peace' with Adam and Gabby. All's one can do is pray. Hugs!

I have to agree with you. I am a little surprised myself about the day care. I know you want to keep peace and I understand that too.

I'm worry about my son - he's a doctor and he's never really worried, but now, he is concerned. If he is concerned than I am concerned.
AND I am worried personally for him!

I am just praying for everything and everyone I can think of! For you too.

I can see your point. Hopefully this will all be over soon and things can get back to normal

Oh Debby, I feel your pain over this. You know how I feel about your precious James, so I can imagine how frustrated you must feel. You and your man need to stay safe though and try to stay in touch by Facetime if you can, and be ready when he can come back around.

you are truly blessed to have enough food, we are running out. there is none to buy on line or in the stores. we can last a week to a week and a half on what we have. if we limit what we eat.
try living with a man who will not listen. he eats 2 eggs 2 sausage 2 toast every day of his life for breakfast. the dog eats one egg. I buy 2 dozen a week. that 2 dozen is going down fast and IF they have eggs I can only buy one dozen. I said to him do the math. eat 1 eg 1 sausage 2 toasts. he says I will eat cereal, I said IF we can get cereal, plus there was no milk on the shelves in 2 stores. he will listen when he has dry toast or saltines. I am trying to get him to conserve. what a way to lose more weight.
James is still getting cuter in each photo... hope he is safe and all of you are to... I have a feeling we are in this for a long haul.

I'm like you I would be pissed, these kids today, no doing anyone any good if they are not all at home if the baby gets sick so will they. You cant afford to go see him at this time.

I so love seeing pictures of James.

Thank you for praying for our medical staff.
My hubby is a hospital tech. I don't know why their little department is still open.

Sounds like you do have plenty of food and TP. That's wonderful!
I too tend to buy too much. If nothing else we can eat beans & rice.

Hopefully it will be over sooner than later <3

OH my James is so precious, and wow he is growing so fast, I do understand your concerns, Debby, prayers for all.
I keep reminding myself, that this will soon pass! I pray for protection and strength for those who are in the medical field, and our fist responders, and for those who have lost loved ones.

Like you both, dh and I prepared ahead of time.
Blessings,
Sue

James is so adorable.
I’m glad your set up for awhile. You need to be so careful and not go out.

The TP thing baffles me.
I’m thankful for a full pantry as well.
