SUMMERTIME
1. What activities did you enjoy as a kid in the summer?
Playing outside all day long. My mother never knew where we were. We rode our bikes, played kick the can in the middle of the street and of course played flashlight tag at night.
2. Did you go on vacations? Where did you go?
My grandparents had a summer home in Union Pier, MI so we would spent a lot of time there. It was about two hours from home. We went to the nearby beach a lot.
3.Do you have a favorite summer time dinner? Share it with us please?
Nothing is coming to mind for me. Since we live in Southern California we often have nice weather year round. I'm more likely to say chili or soup in the winter.
4.How often do you sit outside and enjoy an iced tea or coffee?
I've never been in the habit of doing that. However we do sometimes have a beer in the late afternoon outside!
This weeks meme in honor and memory of Toni Taddeo.

You know Debby - the funny thing is - I rarely go outside to 'play' any more. I am more of an inside person, but when I was little - like you - I was outside all the time. They didn't worry about us or have to worry about us. Now kids don't really play outside that much and we worry!
Enjoy your answers! We used to do pretty much the same thing outside we played tag and hide-and-seek and all the Hopscotch stuff like that that the kids today don't even know what it is
Its true our parents didn't know where we were when we were growing up and they trusted us LOL and we always came home. No helicoptering parents when I was growing up :) We had fun childhoods didn't we? Even in the hot weather.
I agree, a cold beer on a summer afternoon sipping it outside is a good thing to do!
betty
I enjoyed your answers.
Have a good Tuesday.
In retrospect, I think mine were "helicopter parents." They always knew where I was …..and flashlight tag was out of the question. Funny, I was just telling someone else how when I was a kid the summer heat didn't seem to bother me. Now I try and keep close to the A/C all the time!
We would play outside all day too and my mom would yell when it was time to eat. I loved it. Great memories. Loved your answers! Have a great week.

I played outside all day when I was young. These days, I hardly ever leave the house! lol
so nice to meet you! My sister lived in Ann Arbor for a LONG time and I enjoyed MI
we played outside, who wanted to be inside with the parents?
LeeAnna at not afraid of color
Things seemed so much safer for children back in the day so that you could just take off all day. My kids used to love flashlight tag and a game they called manhunt at night.
Things were so different when we were kids. My parents never knew where I was either and they didn't have to worry about it back then. I just remember having to be home by the time the street lights came on. I'm all for a nice cold beer - cheers!
It was the same for me when I was a kid in the summertime. We didn't do summer vacations though
Those were the good ole' days! Running around the neighborhood with your friends without our parents knowing what we were up to lol. I'm so glad I had a childhood without technology.
I loved riding my bike outside at night in the summer. Things are not the same anymore. We can't encourage the kids to play out when things are not safe living in the city. Now Covid.
I'm with you - a nice cold beer over iced tea or coffee!
We used to roam freely, too. It just felt safer then.
