2. If you could throw a themed party for yourself what would the theme be?
Honestly I think it may have to be Christmas themed. I really love Christmas. Maybe and ugly Christmas sweater party!
3. Tell us where you were and something about what life was like when you were 20- 21.
Then we divorced in '83 and I bought a quadminium in Clarendon Hills, IL. Prior to buying that we had a lovely home in Western Springs, IL where our children were born.
This is the home in Western Springs only it was not white. This picture was taken on one of our trips several years ago. We put a big addition on the back. It had original cove molding and was so beautiful. The house was built in 1926.
4. What's on the menu at your house this week?
Since I've been resting with a lung infection the menu has been from the pantry or freezer. Soup, pizza and grilled cheese last night.
5. What should you do more of this year? Less of?
Definitely more exercise, cleaning out closets/drawers and read some books. Less TV and social media!
6. Insert your own random thought here.

Love the looks of that house in the second picture.
The Bougainvillea is beautiful
Did you happen to know any families with the last name of Peckham when you lived in Clarendon Hills? My brother's partner, years and years ago, had a brother & his family that lived in Clarendon Hills, IL. Wouldn't that be something if you knew of them. ~Andrea xoxo
I love the house in Western Springs. at age 20 to 21 i was miserable.
a baby that never stopped crying for years and pregnant again and married to someeone I married by mistake.
I don't do parties so that is easy, i can answer number one, because today I read a long article written my Sanjay, a brain surgeron and what an eye opener it was. he was talking about how to fight dementia. excercise is number 1, sleep is number 2 and the next is face to face conversations, either in person or through video phones/computers. email and fb and living lives in computer does not grow brain cells. so now i have my new advice. stop living in the computer and find people to talk with on phone and video
You won't believe this - my brother and his family lived in a quadminium in Bolingbrook, Illinois - years ago. Last name was Holland. Small world. I would say in the 70's.
Sounds like we have the same things we want to do more and less of this year. You should join me on some of the 30 day challenges so we can do it together. Love your beautiful Bougainvillea, looks like a beautiful home too!
Lovely home you had in Illinois, Debby! They build things so differently in different parts of the country! So pretty with the bougainvillea! I'm done with TV and pretty much social media too :) I need to clean out those I follow on Facebook and just concentrate on getting more things done around the house :)
Hoping you are feeling a bit better!
betty
Quadminimum - I'd never heard of that before! interesting
I like the house in Western Springs.
Your Bougainvillea is lovely.
Hope you are feeling better.

What you did for supper last night is kind of what we are doing tonight. Just get in and find whatever we each want and go with the flow.
Your bougainvillea is beautiful!
I like your advice to yourself..I think that's mine too.
Any kind of a party where there would be lots of dear friends, great food and plenty of laughter...I sure miss those.
I got married at 20 and at the end of this month it will have lasted 57 years.
Working at Sears and going to San Francisco State College...singing in a group at church
Loving life.
Menu is mostly left overs and plowing into stuff in the freezer. Kind of hit and miss.
Yup, more exercise and not so much news..hate it...and social media.
I want to focus on the "good stuff"
Today is the day the Lord has made.
I will rejoice in it.
Sue
Hello, Happy New Year! Praying for you to feel better.
The grilled cheese looks good. We have those sometimes. I am particular about the type of cheese I want in mine.
Yes on more exercise for me....I had thought I might try to do the walking videos again. I used to enjoy doing those, then it didn't matter what the weather was I could do them inside.
Your Christmas party theme made me think of the show we watched a lot over Christmas....Sugar Rush Christmas edition. One of the final cake rounds was an ugly sweater theme. It is on Netflix.
I love a grilled cheese but am trying not to eat too much bread before the wedding. Hopefully next Christmas looks different than this one, and you can have your ugly sweater party : )
Of COURSE you'd go with a Christmas theme!!! :)
Love the pictures of the houses.
Beautiful homes, Debby!
That sandwich looks ah-mazing! I grew up in a (government) quad, but never heard of a quadminium. Party? Because I always loved dressing (and seeing) formal wear, I'd love to host something on the order of a formal cocktail/dinner party, aka the Titanic. Without the conclusion, of course!
I'd never heard of a quadaminian before. Interesting concept. I love your bougainvillea, it certainly is beautiful!
That bougainvillea looks beautiful. We haven't seen sun since last year here. It is all drab and grey and somber, so your photo cheered me up.
That quadiminium is a interesting concept. The house you lived in when your kids were born is very charming! Love your advice in #1. Your bougainvillea is thriving nicely! That grilled cheese sandwich looks real good. Hope the end of your week goes well.
I love the house in Western Springs!! I had never heard of a quadminium until I read about it today!
