1. How far away are you from where you grew up?
I am 1,974 miles from North Riverside, Illinois where I grew up.
2. Families sometimes move all over the country.Do you feel that a family should try to stay close together?
My family stayed in the same location while I grew up. The only person who moved away was my aunt who moved to California. I was around 7 years old at the time.
I have my own situation that had me moving my children to California in 1989. I feel bad that I moved them away from family and their cousins. They were 7 and 9 at the time. I don't want to live with regrets and I trust that God had a plan for us.
3. How many times have you moved in your life and would you like to share when and where you moved?
Personally I have moved 7 times. However they were definitely later in my life. I moved locally when I got married and then we bought a house. Then I got divorced and I moved into my own place.
Then I moved to California into an apt in San Diego. Then we bought a house in Fontana, CA. After we sold that house 15 years ago we lived in an apt for awhile while our current house was being built.
4. What brought you to where you are living now and are you happy there?
Well everything that has been happening in California since I moved here at 38 years old was because of our divorce and getting back together. That's why we are here. Long story. Yes I am happy where I am living but California is not a state for retirement. Way too expensive!!!

Yes I agree that California is expensive. It is the only home I have known and all my family is here. I am glad things worked out for you!
I live about 30 miles away from where I grew up. I've moved several times in my lifetime but always in the same county. Where I am now I've been here over 30 years. I tend to lay down roots and stay where I'm planted.
Glad you and your husband are back together and happy now!
God has his plans for all of us.
I always enjoy your answers. Have a good Tuesday.

I enjoyed your answers Debby. I always like learning new things about my friends. Have a great day.
I didn't know you live in CA, Debby. Or maybe I knew & just forgot... THAT'S a good possibility too. *lol* I've always wanted to visit California... perhaps ride a trolley car in San Francisco. :) Years ago a good friend of mine at the time told me her husband had adult children in Fontana. The girls were married so I have no idea their last names or I'd see if you knew them. Small world! I have a current friend who lives in Vallejo, CA... and now with you added to the ranks, I now have 2 friends in California. ~Andrea xoxo
I just wrote you - lol.
Well I agree - we moved from Chicago to Atlanta - not sure I would do it again - but you can't go back.
You do live in a pretty state though.
Hope you feel better.

In today's economy, where you live really can make a difference. I imagine CA is a pretty expensive place to live. I lived in Florida for many years and the area I lived in wasn't too bad. Now living in TN, I find things considerably cheaper.
California is definitely too expensive to live there!! Happy Tuesday!
I am so glad everything worked out for you and your husband. Loved your answers. Have a nice week.

I lived in Anaheim for 2 yrs coming from a very small town in OK (population of 1500) CA was a zoo to me (NO OFFENSE) just way to busy and yes very expensive. However, CA had some of the pretties scenery I have ever seen in my life.
Nothing can beat the weather in parts of California but you are right, Debby, it is SO expensive to live there! Counted it up and I've moved 14 times since we've been married. Hopefully no more moves :)

I grew up all over the country and Switzerland, so it's hard for me to pinpoint a place. I believe I have moved places about a dozen times and homes many more times than that.
