Hi and welcome to Toni Taddeo's Tuesday 4 kept alive in her memory.
This week's questions come from Pamela Steiner from Florida and the Open Doors Closed Windows blog.
Houses
1. In what part of the country is your current home located? North, South, East, West, Mid West, coastal, rural, city, mountains or plains?
We live in the West. Riverside, California. We can be in Palm Springs in an hour, the beach in an hour, or up in the snow covered mountains in an hour.
2. Why did you choose your present home, and how long have you lived there?
We wanted to live closer to my husbands job. We have lived in this home for 14 1/2 years. Taking on a new mortgage and a bigger home at 55 isn't the best idea in the world! We moved from 1,900 sq ft where we raised our children and now we have 3,200 sq ft.
4. If money were no object, is there anything you would change about your present home, or would you keep it just the way it is?
There is nothing I would change. Sure we need some new carpeting in our bedroom but Mark has painted most of the rooms. We did new carpet in the front 2 guest rooms and painted them. We put wood floors in the family room.
Obviously a few upgrades would be nice when it comes to the sinks and shower that we use. The house has 3 bedrooms and 2 offices, 2 1/2 baths, living room, dining room, family room and kitchen. It's a one story house which is wonderful too!
Thank you Anne.

My home is in Northwestern Pennsylvania. When my ex husband and I bought it, it was built new. One of those subsidized loans that went to a regular loan the minute I got a job.
If money were no object I would gut the house and start from scratch. Not that I hate my house but the contractor used cheap materials and over the years things weren't fixed properly.
I always love the view you have. If I lived there, I would take so many photos of that view.
That is a beautiful view! I would never want such a huge home at this point of my life, the smaller the better.
We are in our 70's and keeping up with a home
is getting tiresome.
I enjoyed your answers today. Have a good Tuesday.

I have always, always loved the view from your home - you are so blessed to have it!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am with the others on loving your view!. We lived in St Petersburg and my husband had been driving 50 miles to work here in where we live now and we bought this house to be 5 minutes from work instead of an hour. Two weeks after we moved in the house he was let go laid off. And we could have stayed in our home in St Petersburg. Our home is perfect for us and the only thing I would change is just a few repairs and some cosmetics and ours is only 1350 square feet
Ohhhhh Debby, that view! Breathtakingly gorgeous!!!! ~Andrea xoxo
I am 56 and the thought of taking on a mortgage right now is definitely a scary thought! But that view...WOW!! That would certainly be tempting.
Having that view right outside your door? Lucky duck! I just can't wrap my mind around cleaning a place that big.
Your home sounds very lovely, and that view is spectacular!! But yes, at our age, which we are just a tad older than you, managing a home that large would be too much for me. Our present home is about 1800 sq.ft., and sometimes that seems too much. But I do love having enough space to entertain and not feel too crowded. I just don't like cleaning it! Thank you for joining in today. It's fun to learn about new places and make new friends here!
Your view is gorgeous and you live in a wonderful spot! So much close by. I'd love a big home ! Mine is teeny tiny.. no storage.
What a gorgeous view you have! I could sit and look at that for hours. Loved your answers! Have a nice week!

That is a big house, considering too that it is all one story! Lovely view you have too!! But you are right, a lot to keep up as we "mature." We drive by houses and like the design and the first things we think of are "how much to heat/cool it" and "don't want to clean something that big". You are in a great location in Southern California too; relatively close to so much!

Your home sounds lovely! Have a great week!
WOW, that is a big house. We moved from 1,200 sq ft to 1,400 sq ft. Perfect as we age. There is carpet in all the bedrooms, tile in the kitchen & wood in the living room/dining room. Easy to care forš¤
That really is a gorgeous view you have. We met with our builder today and told him we plan to get old in this house, so one story only, wide hallways and doors, a walk-in shower. Aging doesn't seem so theoretical to me any more!
