WEDNESDAY HODGEPODGE #411

Thank you Joyce.

1. March 9th is National Get Over It Day...what's something you need to 'just get over already'?

That we are not going to downsize anytime soon. Mark does not want to move. However I have to admit that I'm not going to get over it anytime soon.

2. Something you're currently 'over the moon' about?

I am walking on the treadmill everyday. It's only for 10 minutes at a low speed but I can do it and it should help my lungs. It's what I did at respiratory therapy in 2019.

3. What's something you're 'chewing over' these days? (meaning-thinking over carefully)

Why I'm still have shortness of breath and I have no answers yet along with the fact that I found out on Monday that my cardiologist is going on vacation and I won't have my angiogram until mid April.

4. The last thing you cooked or ate that was overdone?

About a month ago Mark made some hamburgers on the grill and one side was charred. I don't care for charred meat.

5. In celebration of hitting volume 411 in the weekly Hodgepodge, give us the 411 on something happening in your life in the next 30 days.

We definitely don't have a lot going on these days. Haven't for a year now but I guess getting our second vaccine shot on the 23rd of March is happening.

6. Insert your own random thought here.

We had company on Sunday. Adam, Gabby, James and their dog Roxy came over for a visit. James was having a great time with Mark. I know if you follow me on Facebook you probably saw these already.

Mark has wanted to be called "gramps" which is what he called his grandfather. So we always say gramps but James has decided to call him Papa. He said it so many times on Sunday and Mark is loving it!

My dad has been having shortness of breath after once around the block whereas this time last year, he could walk 7 or 8 blocks. He went for a stress test and they didn't note any heart issues but he is being recommended to a cardiologist just in case. The nurse thinks he may have had asymptomatic covid and this is holdover but that doesn't make logical sense to me! Hopefully we both get some answers.

I am glad you are accepting staying where you are right now. Maybe it is for the best.
Walking ten minutes is GREAT!
So what kind of dog is Roxy?
We got another new puppy - a yellow lab - and he is HEALTHY. But a lot of work.
James is a doll.

Congrats 👏 on your treadmill routine. Even with music, I found it insufferably boring and eventually sold mine. LOVE that candid image of Mark and James ... frame worthy!

James is just the most darling little shaver! I love when parents keep a boy's hair neat & short. I used to do that with my son too (who will be 34yo this summer)! I miss his little boy years! ~Andrea xoxo

An organic grandparent name is the best!

That James is just a beautiful boy! :)
I've told you this before, but I just can't get over the view from your backyard. So gorgeous!
Congrats on walking 10 minutes!!!

What a cutie pie James is. And I love the name "Papa". My mother always called her daddy "Papa", and her mother was "Mama". I loved that. I love the picture of James with his "Papa". Those times are so precious...enjoy as much as you can. They grow up way too fast. Glad you are able to do the treadmill. Sounds like a good way to exercise. I am sorry you aren't going to be able to 'downsize' any time soon. But God knows your needs, and He will take care of you in one way or another that is positive and for your very best. So just continue to trust in Him, and He'll take care of the rest. (((hugs)))

So glad you had that visit with Adam, Gabby, James and Roxy!! Special times between a grandson and a grandfather!! I like Papa!!

When my kids were young, actually with our daughter, we hadn't really figured out grandparent names but one day she looked at the family pictures we had out and she said "MeMaw" for hubby's mom and "Papa" for his dad. The names stuck.

Even though a move might not be in the near future, when and if you are ready, downsizing is always good to be prepared just in case; know what I mean?

Great job with the 10 minutes on the treadmill. Slow and steady wins the race!

That’s neat that the treadmill is recommended rather than being a no-no. I use mine every day and stream videos while I use it...exercise is crucial for my state of mind. Good luck!

Hi Debby, I am glad you are walking now. I did not know you were planning on moving. I love your view! Our first grandson gave us the names Mema(Meema) and Ampa. I have been craving Olive Garden and I heard it is open now. We go to the one on Tyler. Hopefully when you are better and there are less restriction, we can meet!

I know how much that visit must have meant to you. How wonderful. James is such a little cutie and it looks like him and Mark were having a good time out there.

It is so sweet to watch men with their young grandsons. I think it's a special relationship. I'm sorry you still have no answers, but am glad you can manage the treadmill. Take care!

I know you were over the moon on the family visit. we are waiting on our 2nd shots and hope to do a little more, maybe back to the Y pool. bob hates charred burgers, i love them, he cooks mine longer than his. i love the char and that is because if it is bad for me i love it.

Sweet photos of James with Papa! Glad you got a visit. Dear is Gramps and sometimes Addy will call him grandpa. It's fun when they come up with their own names, too. Hope your lungs improve with your treadmill exercise.

Those are great pictures!

I don't really like charred meat either. Reminds me of the hot dogs Caleb cooked at the deer lease a couple months ago.

Good job on the treadmill walking.
