1. Do you (or did you used to) watch talk shows? Which are or were your favorite?
I used to watch Oprah years ago. I don't watch any daytime talk shows. I do enjoy James Corden and Andy Cohen's talk shows at night.
I do however fast forward through James show to just watch the guests who are on. If I don't care for the guest on either show I will just delete them.
2. Would you describe yourself as resilient? If so what do you think makes you that way? If you answered no explain why?
I guess I might be resilient because we must keep going but it certainly isn't easy to do.
3. What parts of life have surprised you the most?Explain.
Good question which I'm not sure how to answer. Divorce surprised me. It was not fun at all but I had to keep going.
Having our Grandson James has surprised me the most. I knew it had to be great but never imagined how fantastic it is. It is one of the best presents God could give me.
4. Why do you live where you live?
Our current house was purchased to get Mark closer to work. We bought this house 15 years ago. As far as being in Southern California that has to do with details that happened because of our divorce in the 80's.
5. A memory from this week that made you smile?
Of course having Amber and Dylan in town this week has made me smile a lot! Celebrating James' 3rd birthday obviously made me smile.
But I think the thing the made me smile/laugh the most is when James and Dylan had flashlights in the yard after dark. There happen to be a poop in the yard and Dylan had flashed on it saying "poop" and then James did the same thing. He was giggling so hard along with all of us. They did it over and over again.
6. Insert your own random thought here.
Amber, Dylan and their pup Finley left this morning for their home in Montana. Since I was typing this yesterday I am sure I am laying on my sofa in my office watching TV and feeling sorry for myself. It was a great visit and I pray that someday they can live a little closer to us.
I will definitely write a post about James' birthday party, along with the Disneyland post I owe you, but for now here is a photo of Aunt Amber and Uncle Dylan with James.

I can't recall ever watching any talk shows
I suppose I am rather resilient. I've certainly survived enough things to make me feel that way
Awwww.... what a beautiful picture! I used to watch Oprah all those years ago too, when her show was a call-in show taped in Chicago. People could call-in on the phone & they'd be put on the air to make a comment or ask a question. Oprah wouldn't dream of doing that today, if she had a show again. ~Andrea xoxoxo
no talk shows for me, have never seen Letterman or any of the late night, like carson. the poop light is hilarious, so glad they got to spend time with all of you and James. yes I am resilient and strong, i always come back strong, even when my face is dragging on the ground. there is one thing in my life that is now and always be a surprise to me, the fact I ended up making the disastrous mistake of marrying a mad man and nearly dieing. when I try to explain it to myself, i think temporarily insane
Girl you are resilient!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am so glad you had a nice time and oh how I understand wanting the kids closer - me too!
It had to be soooooooooooo nice having the whole family together.
So the other day you had a photo of your mom and dad - you looked like your mom - your daughter looks like you - BEAUTIFUL!
How nice to have your special visitors come and for the celebrations. That's funny about the flashlights and the poop! Happy Hodgepodge.
Gosh, I can't get over how much Amber resembles you! I know your home must be feeling a bit empty tonight. So glad to know y'all had this precious time together.
I am so happy you had such a good time together! I love that last photo.

I'm so glad you were able to all be together for James' birthday! Such sweet memories, and yes it's always so hard when the house empties. I hope you settle back into the daily routine soon. I think a small pity party is okay when grown kids who live far from home visit then fly the coop again.
Fun that you got to have family visit.
I don't think there is anything more wonderful than a grandchild. You are so lucky to be able to be a part of his life. I will be seeing Pip for the first time in 2 years and I am beyond thrilled.
I haven't watched a talk show in a long while. I used to regularly watch The Daily Show and Colbert.
