Murphy did not leave yet! We went on Sunday to Spectrum and got a new DVR. I got the same one because it took me awhile to get to learn it. It was way different from the one from 15 years ago.
So we came home, got it all hooked up and I set the programs that I could set. Since some shows that I watch are not on at this time I have to wait to set them later. Thankfully I found my paperwork from 2 years ago with all of my shows listed on it with the channels they were on. All was well with the world until Monday morning.
Something was not right, the TV and DVR were not syncing for some reason. The TV said "no signal to be found." Then I left the room and was talking to Mark about it. When I went back to my office cable was on and it all seemed okay.
Well it wasn't. I ended up calling cable on Tuesday and they had someone out that evening at 8 pm. The guy was great. He checked everything you could possible check inside and outside. Took him over an hour and he decided it was the HDMI cable between the TV and the DVR. It seemed to be okay. It connected each time he turned it on and off. All was well with the world until Wednesday.
I leave early in the morning on Wednesday for bowling and I don't turn on the TV. So it was around 2 pm that I turned it on and guess what.....no communication between the TV and DVR. Eventually it came back on but then it happened again.
I immediately called Spectrum and they had someone out right away. Now this guy was someone they send out to check the work of the guy who was there the day before. So this guy checked everything the other guy did. He found a few mistakes but it was still unclear what was going wrong.
Well to make this short I will say that the issue ended up being the new DVR box, it was defective. So he had one with him and installed it and so far it is working great. The TV and DVR are responding with each other. I spent the next few hours putting setting my programs.
So yesterday was a good day and today we get to see James. Originally we were not seeing them this weekend, they had other plans, but Adam texted me on Wednesday asking if we could babysit Friday night so you know how happy that makes me feel!!!!
Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend.

What a frustrating experience with the DVR. Glad it's all fixed and working now.
Enjoy your time with James.
Glad you got the DVR problem solved! TV issues can be SO frustrating. We don't have cable here, just live streaming via WiFi, and that can be frustrating too. I let hubby worry about all those details since he's the one who watches it the most. I can always watch what I want on my computer. Looks like James is as happy to be with you as you are to see him! Have a wonderful time. What a blessing!! (for both of you!)
💕
James is adorable!
Gosh the one thing that floored me about your experience is - that they actually came out to fix your system - COMCAST and AT&T don't come out any more as far as I know - and you have to kind of figure things out on your own.
Glad you got it working!
I can imagine your frustration with the tv situation. It drives me crazy when ours acts up and I hate dealing with the people on the telephone. Enjoy that sweet little boy!
"Smart TV's etc... are the bane of me..so glad you got that straightened out and really quickly too.
Happy days are here for you. Enjoy your time with James..

We have Spectrum. I feel your pain!
However you get to spend time with James, so all is well!
Oh, I do know how you feel.
My mess up today was a new recipe that I got off online. I think the measurements are off, because it did not turn out 100%. I can see what went wrong.
Have fun with James. :-)
How annoying! The more things they offer to make our lives easier, the more it seems can go wrong. At least it seems Spectrum is committed to providing good customer service.
James is adorable!
Spectrum has to be commended for trying to provide really good customer service, but boy, what a hassle to get it all working! I know you enjoyed your time with James :)
