TUESDAY 4

Hi.... welcome back to Toni Taddeo's Tuesday 4.

Cooking....

1. When did you learn to cook?

I'm pretty sure I just learned to cook after I got married. My favorite cook book was Fannie Farmer.

2.  How often in the week do you cook? Order in? Go out?

We cook most nights. That doesn't mean it's a big meal. Sometimes it's just sandwiches or pizza. We do Doordash every once in a while.

We really haven't been going out much since the pandemic started. We have been in restaurants but not something like our regular routine of seeing a movie and going out to eat.

3.  Which foods are absolutely necessary at a cookout?

I love hamburgers and hot dogs at a cookout. Also potato salad, potato chips and watermelon. Of course often a cookout at home is filet mignon.

4.  Do you have a meal you are especially good at making? or that people often request for you to make?

I can't think of anything in particular, at least not at this point and time in my life. I used to make a great lasagna. I think the family likes my Hoska, a Bohemian Sweet Bread that I make at Christmas more than anything now. Also my Christmas cookies which I haven't been making the last few years.

I guess you could say I learned to cook from watching my mom over the years.
Cookout? You gotta have a burger and potato salad, baked beans and deviled eggs.

A cookout is what you said and what and said both of those is what we always have if we have a cookout and that's the only time we have anyone over is for a cookout and that has been years ago. I learned to cook by watching and helping my mother from the time I was eight years old. Never used a cookbook never owned a cookbook accept a gift that I gave away.

Forgot to say I don't have anything that I cook that anybody will ask for again. Bob does he makes potato stuffing that my family begs for

I cook most days, but not like I did in the past. We have gotten older and just don't enjoy the big meals I made when the kids lived here.

I never bought the Fannie Farmer cookbook but I have a ton of other ones that I have really enjoyed over the years. I love the idea of filet mignon on the barbeque!! Yum.

I guess I learned to cook from watching my Mom but HAD to learn to really cook when I got married. It's not my favorite thing to do and I definitely am not into big long involved recipes.

I cook most nights but really like eating out. Its so bad for my diet and A1c though.

Burgers steak and grilled chicken are staples for a cookout.
We did that on Easter Sunday at my friends home. It was the best ever and easy for everyone to bring something ..a total feast!

People do ask me to bring my potato salad, which I did for Easter. I made enough so I could bring home some, since it's my Hubby's favorite.

I havent heard of the Fannie Farmer cookbook. I had a Betty Crocker one that I used often. I like the simple meals you make like sandwiches and the like. I am not one that likes to spend hours in the kitchen. I look for recipes that take 30 minutes give or take. I do like a cookout though with all the trimmings. Think you will get back to going out for movies again soon ?

I can't believe I've never added a Fannie Farmer cookbook to my collection! Our cookout foods are pretty much the same but I forgot chips. That's a must!

I love perusing old cookbooks ... but that's about as far as it goes. Rarely do Tom and I like the same thing; he fixes his lunch (both our 'big' meal of the day) and I do mine. Sundays are reserved for cook-outs; I think anything done on the grill just tastes better!

I use to collect cookbooks. Not sure why (haha) I still have the cookbook that we used in school. We go out about once a week. Enjoy your week and this great weather!

I've heard of Fannie Farmer but never looked at a cookbook. I love cookbooks though and will buy them just to read or because of the photos. haha. Our town doesn't do doordash but my daughter has used it.

I helped my mother and grandmother some in the kitchen, but mostly taught myself to cook once I hit grad school and had an apartment. I have some recipes, but don't even own a cookbook anymore.
