2. Your favorite fall fabric-denim, flannel, tweed, corduroy, tartan, polar fleece, leather? Do you own something made with your favorite fall fabric?
I have to say that I love flannel and we actually use flannel sheets all year long. I also like denim pants in the fall.
3. According to Everyday Health here are ten healthy fall foods- apples (flavonoids may improve brain health), pears (for heart friendly fiber), cranberries (helps your body fight oxidative stress) winter squash (for eye health), pumpkin (another great source of Vitamin A), leeks (an anti-inflammatory food), brussel sprouts (full of fiber and anti-oxidants), sweet potatoes (loaded with Vit A and C), parsnips (keep your bones healthy with Vit K), and broccoli (may help prevent cancer).
How many on the list do you eat on a regular basis? Which one is your favorite? Which one gets a big no thanks from you?
That's a great list. I need to start eating some of those. I do love pears, sweet potatoes and broccoli. A big no would be leeks and parsnips.
4. Tell us about the last time (or a recent time) you experienced a wave of nostalgia?
It's our Google Nest Hub in the kitchen. I believe I experience it almost everyday. I have it filled with nostalgic photos. The ones I love the most are at the cottage my dad had at Huntly Lake, Illinois. So many beautiful memories were made there with our kids and my sisters kids.
Sadly, since we moved to California after Mark and I got back together, the cousins don't have that connection anymore. My sister Darcy and her husband Bob ended up moving to Florida and were near my Dad. I will share photos in the random thought.
5. Sept. 22nd was National Daughter's Day. Like mother, like daughter...does this idiom ring true for you? You may answer in terms of your own role as a daughter or, if you have daughters, then your role as a mother of daughters.
I'm going to say yes to that. I'm going to go with both. My Mom and I, as I aged were very much alike and I have to say that Amber sadly took after both of us. We all suffer from depression which is really sad. I certainly didn't know this early on in my life but I can definitely see it now. Amber has taken control of hers and is doing well.
6. Insert your own random thought here.

all the photos here certainly say nostalgia with no words needed. I do feel that when I look through my albums of old photos. most of the family Fotos are in Augusta GA in a trunk.
I used to wear a lot of flannel, but not in the last 40 years, FL is not a place for flannel. I have seen a few flannel shirts in the mens dept
Hi, thank you for sharing the photos. :-)
We love our flannel sheets too.
Carla
I don't think I've ever tasted parsnips! Love me some broccoli and I'm TRYING to enjoy brussel sprouts. NO to swet potatoes.
Great glimpses of your family 'back when.'
I loved all your photos today, Debby. Thanks for sharing!
You live in So Cal and you have flannel sheets on your bed all year long??????? wait til I tell my Northeast friends! hahah. We laugh and laugh when we meet people who move here and had never even heard of flannel sheets. I no longer use them but when I was in college in western NY i used them Nov-April. Now that i'm "old" and post menopause I rarely use them. My daughters never liked them. "too hot mom". We live in eastern NY. I get too hot at night now with them. But they're so cozy on those bitter cold sub zero nights.
LOVE the pics of your children when they were little. How precious the memories are.
I enjoyed all your photos, especially the last one with Amber and your Dad. Hope you have a great week.
I've never thought of denim as a fall fabric. Denim is for year round. I do like flannel and polar fleece.
When it comes to like mother like daughter all I can say is that I hope that I'm not like my mother. Every now and then I say or do something that reminds me of her and it makes me cringe.
I haven't had parsnips or leeks!
I have a photo frame and it is so nice to watch the photos change.
Have a good rest of the week!
I love the idea of flannel sheets but couldn't handle the reality. I am always hot when I sleep and even on the coldest nights I have the fan going : ) Such sweet photos that definitely feel nostalgic. Have a nice week Debby!
I sure do like the family pictures of you near the end. I like fall for the cooler weather. You use flannel all year round? Doesn't it get hot in the summer? I love all those veggies except the parsnips. I am sorry you all suffer from depression. Hugs.
Thank you so much for sharing those photos. ❤️
Hi Debby, aren't you glad the nights are getting cooler. I use flannel sheets in January and February. I like to decorate for fall with pumpkins and scarecrows. I just got a mini Hallmark catalog in the mail. I am cutting back in what I get. I usually get a Disney one and a Nativity. There is a new mug one that I want to get for my gingerbread tree. My main tree is Disney. Have a great weekend!
