Thank you Joyce.
1. What are your current priorities in this season of life? Elaborate as much or as little as you like.
I think my health is one of my priorities. Of course downsizing and decluttering are a big priority for me also. I did recently start to push myself to start working on it. I did three boxes of books and 3 large trash bags of clothes for the Salvation Army.
I have been struggling recently with several things. Since I had to leave bowling I'm finding it hard to leave the house. I need to go grocery shopping and run other errands which I used to do on my way home from bowling. Of course a doctor's appointment will get me out and about.
2. What's one thing you wish you had more of?
Of course more time with James but that's not the point here.
Happiness with myself and the energy to do more. The desire to be happy with all that I have and have no regrets. Believe, I do know how blessed I am and I thank God for so many things each day.
3. Do you celebrate Halloween? If so, what are your Halloween traditions? Any special plans for Halloween this year?
Halloween was always a fun day for me handing out the big candy bars from Costco. Then the pandemic hit and I stopped. I can't get myself to start again. However, our neighborhood has also changed with the number of children that are here now. But I feel bad about not doing it.
Of course I put together a cute bag of things for James. We brought it over on Sunday evening. I do send out a few cards too.
4. Last thing you ate that contained chocolate? Last thing you made that called for chocolate?
That would be a Dark Chocolate Heart filled with peanut butter from See's candy. I haven't made anything with chocolate.
5. Do you prefer laid back weekends or do you like to have a lot of plans? Thinking back to this past weekend... which was it?
Mark and I have no friends that we hang with so being invited over to Adam and Gabby's is the best thing. Sometimes they are too busy and my weekend will suck.
I am definitely struggling a little more now because I am not a fan of football and that's all Mark does on Saturday, Sunday, Monday night and Thursday night.
However, they invited us over on Sunday so it was a great treat for me. I love our time with them.

I'm not sure if I mentioned this but I had gotten the shots in my back which was wonderful to get rid of the pain. Last time I got the shots they lasted about 5 months. So in September I got them again and it felt so good not to have the pain.
So I woke up about 10 days ago with intense pain in my right hip. I did get a shot there. This felt like a pinched nerve. It was so painful. Now it has gotten a little better. I wake up with it in the morning but during the day it is okay. I usually ice it in the morning.
The worst part of all of this is that my appointment for Pain Management, which was a new referral, isn't until January 2nd.
I have a phone call with my rheumatologist tomorrow and I am hoping he can give me something for the pain. He is the one I got the back shots from both times. He believes I need a shot in my spin but he can't do that and that is where the pain management doctor comes in.
I want to apologize for being Debby downer, but this is where I'm at right now. I am pushing myself to accomplish things each day in the house and that's a good thing.

Aww, sorry things are so tough right now. I wish I lived nearby and could come over and make you tea : ) Keep looking for the positive and hopefully your Dr. can do something to relieve the current pain. Take care.
Hi Debby, it is hard to be positive when you are in pain. I keep myself pretty busy. Physical Therapy is helping my back and hip. Hoping we can meet up someday. I am not driving right now because of my finger. I hope you feel better soon!
Don't apologize for simply stating the truth about where you are right now, Debby. We all love you and will pray that your pain will go away soon. Blessings!
I was going to say the same thing that Martha Jane wrote.
Pain can overpower everything else. Praying for relief.
#1 priority for me right now is getting back on my diet. I have gained back some pounds that need to come off asap.
I wish we had more eBay sales so some of this "stuff" would leave our house. Seems money is tight everywhere.
We have no traditions other than handing out candy on Halloween. At our former church we would do Trunk or Treat which was always fun. Current church doesn't do things like that. I do miss it.
My coffee that I am sipping as I am writing this is a international coffee with chocolate in it. Very yummy and satisfying. Last thing I baked with chocolate was brownies.
I do like laid back weekends but being retired the whole week is pretty much the same. Often after church we will eat out with friends and family. That's always fun.

Hi Debby, SENDING A BIG HUG!
I will be praying for you.
We just finished a huge project. I will be sharing on the blog later.
Love, Carla
I'm so sorry about your pain and that it will take so long to see the pain management doctor. Thank you for sharing, and please never worry about being a Debbie Downer. Much love. ❤️
Aw Debby, I'm sorry to hear about your pain issues. Just like Tom, somedays he struggles to walk just a few steps to the kitchen. We heard this morning that the VA's set him up with a referral to pain management next month, so maybe you could ask to be put on a list if anyone should cancel?
Like Jean just said, don't ever worry about being a 'Debbie Downer.'
PS - I've begun noticing (that) I, too, am becoming more and more reluctant to leave the house. Concerning a bit.
Being in pain is hard and it makes it harder to get motivated. I do hope you get some relief from the pain. It's nice to have our grandkids who bring so much joy in our lives. Praying you find joy and comfort from the Lord for your hard days.
If I comment here, did you receive it?
1. What are your current priorities in this season of life? Elaborate as much or as little as you like.
I can't think of anything that is any better to focus on at any season. Great job. Me~ I would have to say health also. That is a goal like I said for all seasons however, with me, my health, my fibromyalgia really does need to be considered as the winter months move in. Cold and wet really brings on pain. Moving, walking, or exercise would be something I need to focus on first.
2. What's one thing you wish you had more of?
good days with less pain. This summer has been amazing, with no rain, it helped.
3. Do you celebrate Halloween? If so, what are your Halloween traditions? Any special plans for Halloween this year?
Well, of course!!!! My favorite holiday. As for celebrating, I decorate in the house and I really decorate outside. Before I moved in Dec. I always dressed to give out candy, if I stayed home, but the last few yrs I met friends for dinner out and enjoyed time with them.
4. Last thing you ate that contained chocolate? Last thing you made that called for chocolate?
That would have been a little choc on a spoon from where I made a cake on the 23rd for my oldest grandson. Covered both questions with that.
5. Do you prefer laid back weekends or do you like to have a lot of plans? Thinking back to this past weekend... which was it? LAID BACK last weekend...I used to have plans for the weekends but the last five yrs or so, I have gotten more used to staying home

I have been loving the past two days and this morning on the deck. The colors in the backyard, the cooler temps and today the wind is blowing. Sounds great blowing through the trees. But....I have to get up and moving today and do something in the house.
sorry to hear about the pain issues. That's never fun Right now my priorities would be to decide whether to stay at work or find another job.
Halloween? Used to but now I don't do anything for it any more.
I stopped doing Halloween when my kids were 10 years old, which was 50 years ago. yikes, that is scary.
I had that hip pain for 3 days this past week, ice did no help but heat did. have you tried heat? Pain makes everything look worse. its hard to think of other things while in constant pain. I am a homebody and happy at my age to just be home.. but I do know others are not happy stay home.. my outings consist of shopping for food and other necessities and doc visits for both of us.
I think when you are hurting so bad and scared it is hard to enjoy anything. It all seems bad. I know how much you enjoy James. I love peanut butter and chocolate.
I hope the doctor can give you something - a shot for your pain.
Aw I'm so sorry that you are in pain these days. Back pain is especially bad, I think. Praying that you get relief and enjoy life more!
