2. A piece of red velvet cake, a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a slice of blueberry pie? You can only have one...which will you choose? If you could pick any red, white, or blue dessert other than those listed here, what would you choose?
I think I have to go with the blueberry pie but I wouldn't mind some ice cream with it.
3. What's a job you'd like to try for just one day?
I think I would like to work in the nursery at a hospital.
4. Any patriotic decor in your home currently or coming up this summer?
No, I haven't been decorating much for holidays except Christmas.
5. It's the end of May, so let's exercise our brains. Sum up your month with an acrostic using the word MAY. We can do it!!
M - Memorable
A - Anxiety
Y - Yummy

So Mark is still gone fishing in Canada and won't be home until the 1st of June.
I saw my ankle doctor last Thursday. He took the stitches out. I told that I am in a lot of pain. He gave me a prescription for steroids, however I didn't want to take them. I use them too often with my COPD. That is why my skin is thin and why the injury to my knee was so bad.
However I decided to take them and they did help. They especially helped with the sciatica and a little bit with the ankle pain. I was able to give the two front bedrooms a good cleaning. I haven't been able to do much but little by little the house is getting cleaned.
I see him Friday and we will try the shot in the ankle. If that doesn't help then we have to talk about other surgeries and that's not good.

I'm glad you got some relief from the pain and it sounds like you could do some cleaning because of that. Hope you get more relief from your Friday doctor visit. Working in a nursery would be sweet! Take care...
You're blessed the steroids worked for you. They did NOTHING for my sciatica BUT my chirorpractor after 6 visits got me rid of that pain and now I do fitness ball exercises to keep the pain away.
How sweet it would be to work in the hospital nursery. Although...all that crying.....:)
Have a wonderful rest of the week.
I'm glad you got a little bit of relief. I had a shot in my ankle which helped in the short term but it still aches and I'm kinda just left dealing with it as they cannot find the root of the pain. My regular dr. told me with a stress fracture sometimes the bone doesn't heal to the degree it once was.
I'm glad you got a bit of relief for your pain and still praying for that ankle of yours.
Like your hodgepodge answers.
I'll take ice cream too.
Haven't decorated for the red , white and blue holidays in years.
This year I'm lucky to get the house straightened up and presentable on the surface!

I'm glad that what the doctor prescribed seems to be helping somewhat, Debby. The only time I decorate our home is at Christmas. I'll keep praying!
I'm so glad you got some relief. I have a steroid injection in my shoulder every 4 months and it has such a positive affect on my whole body. I'm hoping to be able to spread the time between injections if I can. Grateful you have had some good days.
I wouldn't say I am allergic to a corticosteroid shot, but I do get flushed in my face and a headache. I have a very high pain tolerance, so it would be a last resort. Basically, I have a low-grade pain every day, but I'm used to it. Because of all the fun I used to have, I'm paying for it now.
Glad the steroids helped some. I bet it felt good to get things done.
Thank you so much for this update, Debby! I'm thrilled that the steroids seem to help your sciatica. I've magnesium pills (purported to help) but they're so large I'm afraid they might get stuck in my throat.
Thank goodness the steroids helped a little. And you were able to get the two bedrooms cleaned. That's good! I cleaned our little bathroom floor the other day. I was on my hands and knees scrubbing behind the pedestal sink, the toilet... buy did I hurt when I was done! :)
I will take the red velvet cake.
I am sorry about your ankle - more surgery? Oh Debby.
Take it easy girl.
I'm still praying for you, and I will be glad when Mark is back. I worry about you being alone. ❤️
Continuing to pray Debby for your health.
Thank you for going back to share about Amber and Adam's names, and James too, it is fun to learn about peoples names.
xo
Hi Debby, sounds like you are doing a little better. I did not know that steroids would work, but I might have to ask my doctor about it. All of my back is hurting. The pain comes and goes, but night seems to be the worse because I can't get comfortable. I bet you are looking forward to your husband coming back!
aches and pains are so frustrating. Hoping you feel better soon and can find some relief without the steroids since you don't care to take them.
