So I have been thinking about a new years resolution which is strange for me. I have never been one to do a resolution. Sure I always want to eat well and lose weight, that's a given after the holidays. Do I ever follow through? (seldom)
What I have been thinking about is that if I was able to push myself to get things done to blog about this year, why can't I continue to push myself to get my house less cluttered. I was so motivated to show off my Christmas decoration. Seriously if I post a mess and clean it up I will have something to post about. Accountability right? You don't see the clutter but I know where it is. I have too much stuff. Actually I got rid of at least half my things when we moved 3 years ago. (it wasn't enough) So I thought that maybe if I take a picture of it and post it then I have to do it! So maybe I will do this. I really want to have organization in my life.
Something else I have been working on for several months now is a list of ways to clean my house. Like a 365 days to a constantly clean house. See I can't do allot each day because of my asthma, I get pooped fast. But if I could just accomplish something each day or at least several days a week for maybe an hour or two I could keep a consistently clean house. I've worked on the plan but haven't put it into action. My daughter, wanting some extra money, has helped me keep our house clean. She doesn't really want to do it anymore. I have begged her to do my floors every two weeks because those are really hard for me. See I could hire a maid but I have trust issues. (I know it is wrong of me to feel this way) It's kind of sad when you were able to keep a perfect house and then health issues get in the way. It's hard to give in and let go of your pride.
Well I better get to bed, the kids and I are heading to a casino tomorrow.........

I've got the same problem, albeit with a different start. I don't like cleaning and clearing. I like things clean and clear though. Of course during the busy season I have another excuse: every minute I am home, I am trying to relax and recover from work.
Hope your resolution works out.
Good luck w/ your resolution!
I think your plan sounds like a good idea! So what if you can't get it all done in one day...a little bit each day will make a big difference and you will feel so much better! I like the accountability thing. You post about it all you want. :)
Maybe you could hire someone to help you get it in order, or you could ask some really close friends and family members, then you will able to stay caught up and do maybe an hour a day.
I'd help you if I were out your way. I know cleaning is an overwhelming task for some. I know it can cause trauma for people. I hope you get some help to clear the clutter in your home. I can hear your sadness over the situation.
With the New Year, take one day at a time.

Your organization posts sounds like a good idea! I have a lot of clutter and need to organize. I got some done before Christmas. I find that when I organize, it makes me "feel better".
It is constant around here...I have to vacuum at least once per day (dog hair...we call it sitka bunnies).
Blessings, andrea
I will be right over to clean up the snow and the floors..
i understand about the plush toys. I had a lab and the very first thing he wanted to do was rip out the squeaker. every.single.time!
Good luck with the resolutions!
Good luck!!
One of my dogs, Jack, loves his plush toys and will carry them around with him......however!, Mikey tears them up like Skye does. And since he's the more aggressive, the toys are usually torn up.....we got him a couple of rubber chickens and he's good with that.
As for the cleaning. You must have been reading my mind! I want to be organized so badly, but when I start, I get frustrated and stop! Before Thanksgiving, when I was having my family here, I panicked and called Merry Maids, but after they left, I noticed tons of dust they didn't get. Plus if I were to have a maid, I would have to clean up before they got here! :) oh, well......
Good Luck with the resolutions !!! Have fun at the casino !!
Happy 2010

I'd love to come and help you...too bad we can't do that through cyberspace!
Try someone you know, surely there is someone who you could trust to do a good job!
I hope you have fun tomorrow!
Happy New Years!
If I was there I would help you with your floors
its ok, just think of it as you GET to hire someone to do the floors for you because you have other things that need to be done and you CANT do it ALL by yourself. And you are blessing someones life that will be paid by you so they make money, it still is tough times for many, your doing a good thing.
also I am here to be your cheerleader for anything you need encouragement in, so when you want to get rid of stuff and cant get into it e mail me and I will cheer you on.
uuughh! i wont lie, i hate cleaning.. BUT.. when its done and over.. it FEELS SO GOOD!!!
i think you should hire help! find someone that a friend uses, i have found that the trust issues go away. because if they are not trustworthy to you or your friend they loose 2 jobs. good luck at the casino!
I am a horrible housekeeper! It doesn't help that I have kids who delight in trashing the place, but even pre-kid our place was always messy.
Happy New Year and have fun!
I so wish I was a better housekeeper too. My hubby and I were saying that we should have friends over every weekend because it forces us to clean. lol If only...
We have to STOP giving Buddy plush toys too!! He knows exactly how to rip them apart in seconds. In other words, he always goes for the jugular, so to speak. And then foam is everywhere. But Buddy sure loves them a lot.
Debbie,
Perhaps you can take a look at Flylady.net. It's a great website that can help you with all aspects of being organized and getting your home cleaned in simple daily tasks. I loved getting into the habit a few years ago and now it's a snap.
Here is hoping for lots of joy, love and happiness along with blessings for 2010.
Love and Hugs ~ Kat
When my house was totally out of control many years back I turned to Flylady.net. It was just the beginning of FlyLady when I joined - they didn't even have a website then. Anyway, it's all about doing a little each day and having a system to get through your house. It works. But just like a diet - it only works if you do it lol
My house is once again a bit out of control, but my bathrooms, kitchen and master bedroom are very very clean each day because of the disciplines that I learned from Flylady.
Photo blogging is a good way to stay accountable lol Very good way.

Oh Skye no making your mommy cry and the fluff of the toys everywhere is a lot of work for your poor mommy!
I hear you I need to make a list or way of cleaning it up! OH boy I just can't seem to keep up with it all!
Good luck at the casino! Big MONEY :)
Debby, Cleaning never ends here lol. Thank You for being a part of my blog. I look forward to blogging with you another year. Have the best New Year. Much Love and Blessings, Audrey
Good luck with it, and Happy New Year!
I don't know many dogs that leave stuffed toys in one piece. Might have to stick to dog bones? ;-)
I know what you mean about needing to make a list to clean. I don't have allergies, but I'm terrible at Spring cleaning. I think if I make a list and spread it out I'd be more likely to get it all done :-)
i love new years..a fresh new start!!!
Wishing you the best in 2010!!!
