I started my Just Breathe blog on April 9th of 2009. I have to say that it has given me a new direction in my life. I have met so many wonderful people and actually feel like I have grown as a person. I am so proud of my blog, I never would have imagined doing anything creative on the computer. I was actually pretty impressed that I was able to do email for several years. Google made it so easy for me. Believe when I say that my blog is nothing compared to all the creative blogs I have come in contact with but nevertheless I am proud of myself. (I can change the background and make mosaic pictures)
I started my For Your Tears blog on June 21st of 2009. God gave me the heart and through my blog I was able to start a ministry that has given me self worth. It's not a happy project but one that is very necessary. The sorrow that is going on in our world breaks my heart into pieces and I feel thankful to God that I have the opportunity to do something to honor those who have deep sorrow in their lives. I pray that just one simple gesture can give them comfort.
I want to thank everyone who follows me and leaves me comments. I do spend most of my days consumed on this computer. It is really very wonderful and I am so happy to know you.
We had many visitor's this year which made for a wonderful year. My family from Florida came at the end of July. We went to Mammoth Lakes in August. My MIL, SIL & SIL (sister in laws) came for a six day visit in September which was perfect. I had a trip to Vegas in June which is always a great treat. Then my father came for a visit in October and it was wonderful. I also had a magical day at Disneyland in October and just this month too!
One of the best parts of this year was getting our little girl Skye back in April. She will turn 1 year on the 7th of January. She brings us so much joy.
In this picture you will see her with Charlie our grand puppy and also her friend Chasey who moved yesterday. Her fence buddie is gone :(
So Christmas was wonderful I can hardly believe it. This year the blog world changed my Christmas. I know this may sound silly to most of you but it gave me desire. I wanted to show off my collections. I had so much motivation this year and that goes for baking too. I was always the avid Christmas baker and haven't done anything like I did this year in a very long time. Thanks for putting a spark under my butt! Not that my family doesn't appreciate what I do but after twenty years (away from relative) they just expect it and I started to slack off. Thank you for sharing in our Christmas.
What do you do for New Years Eve? My husband and I will be home, that is what we do. We will watch a movie, eat onion dip and have some champagne at midnight. I will be making a few extra this year too! We will watch the special celebrations on TV, hopefully staying awake until 12:00 AM to start our New Year off with a kiss!
I don't have any background on this tradition but my family ever since I was little did this every year that I can remember. First of all they eat pickled herring at midnight which I do not do. But every year on a window ledge outside we put out coins of hopes & prayers for the New Year. On New Years Eve I will put out dimes for all of us. (Mark, Debby, Adam, Tristen, Amber and Dylan. I place nickles out for the pets which this year will be Skye and Charlie) I usually leave them out for a week or sometimes longer because I forget about them! It may be a crazy tradition but we have always been blessed. I guess it's a Bohemian tradition, something that was brought over from Europe years ago. Give it a try.
This is a long post and I am so sorry. I am sure I could type for hours. If you don't have time to read it I understand. For some reason when I see 2010 I have to say "twenty ten" I can't say "two thousand and ten". I look forward to reading all of you in twenty ten.
SO I AM PRAYING THAT TWENTY TEN IS YOUR BEST YEAR YET! MAY GOD BLESS YOU ABUNDANTLY! SAFETY & PERFECT HEALTH TO ALL THE PEOPLE YOU LOVE.

Wishing you a wonderful 2010!!!!!!!
have a great 2010!
I enjoy reading your positive posts. I love the fact that you are inspired by your readers and that you use your voice to express who you really are. Often is the case on blogs is to share much of nothing about who they are or where they're going and I have been quick to not visit those sites again. I know I feel alot of honesty and love for your passions, your family that include that cute little Skye, when I read your blog.
May your 2010 be prosperous and might you spread even more good cheer = )

I'm glad that over all 2009 was a good year for you...even more special because little Skye came into your life. Everyone should look back on their year and find all the things they are grateful for as well as take stock. I know I'm grateful for having "met" you here on blogger and your blog is something to be proud of!
Happy New Year!! :)
This post is not too long! It was just like a holiday letter, filling us in on your year.
We are spending New Year's Eve at home this year, too. I love the idea of putting coins on the window sill. I think we should try it! But I don't think we'll try the pickled herring!
Not long, just right. I didn't realize this was your first year blogging as it is mine. It has added a lot to my life but not the least of which is the new friends I have made. I am very happy to have 'met' you and, of course, Skye! And I wish you a very happy, healthy 2010!
Great traditions...I love hearing/reading the traditions of others....so special.
I am thankful GOD has brought many new friends into my life through the blog world.
Blessings,
andrea
What a wonderful tradition. I do children's sermon each Sunday during our service and that just gave me an idea for next Sunday,(even though New Year's celebration will be past) thanks!!!
I also have been a different person since starting my blog. My eyes have been opened by so many special people and you are one of them. You have such a genuine, kind heart and you have been a blessing to my blog reading. Thank you Debby, mwah and hugs!!!
I am so glad you are blogging. I got a chance to meet you. I have enjoyed reading your blog and learning more about you. Since I miss my little dog so much I love coming over and seeing Skye.. I am ready to tackle the New Year. I hope to stay up until midnight too but who knows. Have a great week.
You are a wonderfully kind and thoughtful woman whose heart shines through in your blog posts. I'm so thankful you are here for us! Blessings to you and yours in the new year!
Debbie,
What a great post to reflect on 2009, I'm working on mine as I type this and have to agree with a lot of your points. Blogging has been a pivotal part of my 2009!
Love and Hugs ~ Kat
Keep the memories of 2009 in your album and set aside a few pages for the one's your about to make. I for one, welcome the new year for the promise and hope it brings. 2009 was a bit tough so I'm not sad to say so long to it. Your post, just fine. The pup ~ adorable. :)

Debby...I was so blessed the day you left your lady bug as a follower!
I have enjoyed our friendship and knowing that you are always there to leave a kind word is something that I look forward to! And Skye is adorable...we lost our Chocolate Lab Gracie a year ago and just haven't had the heart to replace her...so Skye is filling the gap.
i hope 2010 is another great year for you! i enjoy the blogging world also. i really look forward to hearing what my new friends are up to. have a great new year!
God Bless you and your family Debby, you're one of those rays of sunshine I look forward to hearing from each day. I feel the same way about blogging and all the amazing people I have met and hopefully will meet IRL some day :).
I love the idea of money on the ledge, outside is good so the boys don't steal it, not only to worry about the neighbor kids ... LOL :)
Love the pictures glad you were able to get it, they make life and blogging so much easier!

I hope the new year brings you more joy and peace and love, Debby. We are going to a New Year's eve party and then I am throwing a dinner party for 15 people on 1/2. It was supposed to be on Dec. 23rd but I got sick so we rescheduled. It should be fun and I am looking forward to it. ...Christine
Your post was just right length-
wise. And if it would have been longer, it would have been just right as well!
