1. My real life friends came through with another question this week so thank
you real life friends. When you've eaten in a restaurant do you complete their
comment card? Do you take online surveys highlighted at the bottom of store
receipts?
Sometimes I do fill out their comment card and I do take the online surveys for a few stores. With Hallmark you get $2.00 off your next purchase. Hey that's a free card!!!
2. The (US) ban on women in combat was lifted at the end of January. It will probably be next year before specifics are worked out, but its been reported over 200,000 front line positions will eventually open up to women. Your thoughts?
I believe if a woman wants to be a soldier on the front line she has a right to do so. Honestly I don't want anyone on the front line fighting a war.

3. In looking back at all the blog posts you've written, what's your favorite post title?
Okay....I looked at all 889 posts I have written and how do you pick a favorite. Just recently I did this one: MARCH ADO ABOUT NOTHING but then these were kind of interesting too....
Holy Crap Batman!

4. What's worse-overly permissive parents or overly protective parents? Did your own parents lean more to the permissive or the protective category? If you're a parent where do you fall?

I believe an overly protective parent is worse because kids will rebel against you most of the time. My parents were permissive. I wanted to have guidelines for my children yet my husband had a father that was very strict and he wanted our children to have more freedom. We never agreed on this! Nothing wrong with continually giving them instructions for their protection.
5. Candlelight-moonlight-firelight-bright lights in the big city...which one's your favorite?

Definitely moonlight!
6. Dr. Seuss's birthday was celebrated on Saturday. What's a favorite book you remember (Seuss or otherwise) from your own childhood? Did books play an important role in your growing up years? Explain.
I don't remember a favorite from my childhood. Books were not a big part of my growing up years. Neither of my parents were readers. I actually didn't start reading myself until I was 32 and going through a divorce. Danielle Steel was what I read, I couldn't read enough romance novels. My therapist who was helping me said "Debby, real life is not that way." I was broken and wanted to wish for that knight and shinning armor!

While you are reading this I am either on my way or getting ready to leave for Las Vegas depending on your time zone. Mark has some business in Vegas so we are just going up for one night which is a fun getaway for me! I won't be around reading your Wednesday Hodgepodge posts today. Hopefully I can catch up later. Hope you have a wonderful day......

I suppose your therapist was right but it's still nice to escape into a work of fiction and dream! ( :
Have fun in Vegas! Seeing any shows?
Have fun!
Have a great time and don't bet it all on red.
I loved the funny dog video :) Enjoy your trip to Vegas!
Have a ball in Vegas...and remember, what happens there, stays there! ;)
Ah, those knights are few and far between! I got one and it makes life wonderful!
Have so much fun on your trip! I envy you all your fun trips.....that's one thing we don't do much, travel and I want to do more! I told my husband recently that since he doesn't want to go to Paris, I want to go to spend a few nights at the Del Coronado! I've visited there many times when in San Diego, but always thought it would be a wonderful place to stay......very expensive, but it couldn't possibly be as expensive as Paris! :)
I like to fill out the surveys too- especially when they enter me to win a $500 shopping spree like Michael's does! Course, I never win. With a grandmother as the town librarian, my life was all about books growing up!
Have fun in Vegas!
Nicholas Sparks is the new Danielle Stelle :)
I didnt know that about Hallmark... I'd do that for a free card.
I do fill out the receipts too.
I don't think I remember those posts - sorry.
I had over permissive parents - I had to kind of put my own breaks on my life.
Candle light.
Have fun in Vegas.
Hugs, sandie
Have fun in Vegas! I went through a huge Danielle Steele phase in my early 20s, and Sidney Sheldon. I think romance novels are a wonderful escape and entertainment! Nothing wrong with that! Ann
I so agree about #2 - both parts, that women should be allowed to serve and that I wish no one was sent to fight.
Both my parents were big readers and I read ALL the time as a kid. Under my desk at school, walking down the hall between classes, and under the covers by flashlight at night. I still always have stacks of books I'm working my way through.
I hope you are having the time of your life in Vegas!! Enjoy every moment and hope you manage to squeeze in some moon light :)
Good idea about the Hallmark, heck $2 is $2!
Green Eggs and Ham :) I remember reading it not too long ago in a Marketing class about sales. Made sense, never give up!
LOVE Danielle Steel books!
Have fun in Vegas, what a fun treat!
I actually went to a casino today with some friends...first time in about 20 years. We were only there for a couple of hours, then out to lunch and home. It was fun! Enjoy Vegas...I just texted hubs I want to take a trip there.
Also-I loved the video!!
I totally did the same thing...scrolled back through all my posts to try and find something interesting. Mostly I found that I'm not that creative when it comes to titles.
Win big in Vegas, baby! Isn't it funny how reality slaps us in the face sometimes? (referring to your romance books...lol) Have a great trip!
I love dr Suess we read him a lot around here... Have fun in Vegas!!!
Enjoy Las Vegas, Debby!! It is hard to parent kids if one parent had strict parents and want more permissiveness and the other way around; it is a definite balancing act indeed! But it seems like your two kids turned out great!
betty
I know you'll have a wonderful time in Vegas. Enjoy!
I'm with you on women on the front lines. If that's where they want to be, then it's totally fine but none of us want anyone to have to fight a war!
Have a great time in Vegas and remember "What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas"
I love the video with the dogs! Watched it over and over-too funny!
I hope you had fun in Vegas!! :-)
Hope you have fun!
Hope you had fun! I can't wait to go in April. I need to get away!
Love that video! Hope you had a great day in Vegas.
Oh have fun in vegas!
