Our Thanksgiving dinner was fabulous thanks to me! Yes I am taking almost all the credit for our fabulous day except for the fact the Adam made fresh rolls, Amber peeled the potatoes and cleared the dishes from the table and Mark lifted the turkey for me and carved it. Other than that the prep work, cooking and cleaning was all me!
(Okay off my soapbox)
We had fresh mashed potatoes, corn, rolls, sweet potato casserole with fresh baked sweet potatoes I roasted in the morning, green bean casserole with fresh green beans and Cheesecake Factory pumpkin cheesecake. Yes I am thankful for having food on the table and a family to cook for.......
I also made butternut squash soup in the crock pot with roasted garbanzo beans for garnish. We had organic cranberry sauce which we picked up at Costco. I was going to make fresh but thought it would be too much for me.
The turkey was 23 pounds and I use Pepperidge Farm dressing, it's a family favorite. We also finally got around to celebrating Mark's birthday. It was a great meal and a very nice day, there was just the four of us so we got to eat dinner again and again all weekend
I didn't go out shopping but I did end up placing an order at Kohl's after dinner on Thanksgiving. I just couldn't pass up the deal. A Sonicare that Amber wants for Christmas is $139., on sale for 79.99 with an additional $10. rebate. Then we got Mark a Bears sweatshirt, Bears t-shirt, two pairs of PJ's for me and two baking pans all for $160.
Beside that I now have $45.00 in Kohl's cash to spend which we will be buying sheets for our bed! Other than that I never left the house all weekend. I put out a few decorations, finished a few other little trees and did the unpleasant task of packing.....
Un-wind: To relax and stop thinking about work, problems, etc.
I'm on my way to Orlando today. We will be staying at the Gaylord Palms in Orlando and I'm doing Disney's Hollywood Studios and Animal Kingdom this year! Having a pizza party with the family Thursday evening in Palm Harbor. I can't wait to see everyone. I will be home on Sunday and Mark is off to the UK again on Saturday.
Have a great week and I hope to participate in Wednesday Hodgepodge but I won't be around to read posts this week.
