Volume 274
Thank you Joyce...
Sounds like people are having fun but I'm not sure how it works. I am not playing.
2. What was something you collected as a child? Do you still have that collection? If you're a parent what's something your own children collected? Have you ever camped out, stood in a crazy long queue, or paid a ridiculous sum for a 'collectible'? No!
I don't remember collecting anything as a child. I did start to collect mushroom pictures and knickknacks when I was in my late teens. I still have several of them.
Other than some comic books I can't think of anything my children collected when they were young. Amber likes owl things now.
3. "Collect moments, not things"...tell us about a moment you've added to your collection this summer.
My time in Florida with my dad and family are moments I collected this summer. More to come.....
4. What's something collecting dust in your home right now? Any plans to do something about it?
I have many collectibles that are collecting dust right now. I love them and will be dusting them off this week. When we downsize in a few years I will have to say goodbye to many of them so for now I am enjoying each moment I have with them.
5. A favorite song relating to time?
Does Anyone Know What Time It Is by Chicago
Time In A Bottle by Jim Croce
6. What's been your most frightening or your most interesting encounter with wildlife?

6. What's been your most frightening or your most interesting encounter with wildlife?
I'm going to say the times up in Mammoth Lakes when we would see bears. Usually because of someone leaving a cooler on their porch or something in their car that the bears would go after.
7. On July 20, 1969 Apollo 11 Commander Neil Armstrong set his foot down on the moon. If you could travel to the moon would you go? Why or why not?
Good question. I'm not sure if I would go but I do remember watching that moment in time! I would want a guarantee of my safety.....
8. Insert your own random thought here.
If you follow me on Facebook you have seen this. I've been trying to make my Facebook page a happy place with some photos like this one .
With all the tragic events and politics I'm finding it hard to be there. I actually enjoy picture of your kids, pets and what your eating!!!

We haven't done the Pokemon thing either. Mushrooms are a unique thing to collect.
I'll take one of those smiles!! thank you! Did you see on the news where a little girl was hit by a car, while playing Pokémon. I'm afraid it may get out of control, although I know nothing about the game either. :) Memories are the best collectibles for sure. I had a few minutes by myself at my parents home yesterday. I sat on the couch, where my mom always sat, and tried to remember.... I brought up lots of memories of things that happened in that house; lots of good things. It was fun strolling down memory lane for those few minutes. :)
I like all the positive things you are posting on Facebook, very uplifting :)
I know a bit about Pokemon Go. We were at the mall the other day and you could see everyone playing it because their eyes were on their cell phones more than usual. DIL's sister plays it and the game was having her go into traffic, wisely she didn't.
Its hard to imagine it has been that many years since the moon landing, but I remember being glued to the TV watching it happen!
betty
my most frigthning encounter with wildlife was the night Jake and bob fought a mama raccoon all over our back yard, it was one of the most frighting things i have ever seen. i said on another blog i did not collect and don't. but i remembered i had a suitcase FULL of paper dolls when i was about 10 or so
I almost picked the Chicago song because it's one of my favorites. I am a fan of happy thoughts on Facebook. It has become so icky over there. I say bring on your puppies, grandbabies, inspiring quotes and leave politics, name calling, and hitting people over the head with your opinion for somewhere like a blog or real life conversation.
Making Facebook a happy place will be quite a job. I applaud the effort. Have a good Wednesday
I did see your 'take a smile' on Facebook. I like that. Everything in my house is collecting dust right now. I've got way too many projects going on at one time.
Chicago is one of my favorite bands of all time.
Coolers are a great way to attract bears!
I like positive things on Facebook, too. When we visited Yellowstone, I was so disappointed that we didn't see a bear. We did see one in Alaska, but really, I'm fine not having the experience of encountering one.
We are not currently friends on Facebook, but I would like to be. Enjoyed being reminded of those songs and Chicago. Have a great rest of your week.
I love your random thought, and wish there were more "happy thoughts" on Facebook, too :)
Yes, I, too, will need to say "good bye" to some collectibles, at some point...but not today!
Good choices for songs about time. Love them both.
I've seen people playing Pokemon Go and heard the news reports of folks walking off cliffs and wrecking cars. Seems to me like a sad way to be about and about - so removed from the actual work you are living in.
What a great Chicago song, didn't think of that one. Bears are scary and I would not want to encounter one! Have a great rest of the week :)
I tend to steer away from all the negative stuff on Facebook but it's hard at the moment. I'd gladly take a smile. Nice idea.
love the 'take a smile.' might have to use that in the future. :)
the pokemon go is creating some 911 calls of people reporting suspicious behavior, suspicious vehicles, etc. really dumb...
Fun random :-) :-)
Carla
Love your 'random' Debby! And I would be happy to never have a bear encounter, thank you. :-)
Your mushroom collectibles sound intriguing! ... and reminded me of Jody Bergsma's art prints.
I'd not thought of "What Time it Is" for years and years, but there in the surgi-center this morning I was right back at our favorite restaurant, Daddy's Money, in Dallas, Texas with the love of my life.
I like to take pictures of interesting mushrooms. We often have some very interesting specimens in our yard.
Your "take a smile" graphic is great. :)
I have absolutely no recollection of the lunar landing. David does. I was 3 years old at the time. I guess I slept through it. If it was after 7pm, it was past my bedtime. haha
Have a blessed day!
I like the "Take A Smile" idea. Thanks.
I remember when mushrooms were EVERYWHERE in decor back in the '70's! I think I still have one or two things in a box somewhere with mushrooms on them...
My daughter loves owls right now, too, and is planning to use them in the nursery if her baby is a girl.
I am with you about Facebook. I haven't been doing much but playing games and checking in with a couple of private groups. More time than that leaves me with such a negative feeling and who needs that?
I love, love, love Time in a Bottle and almost chose it. Loved the responses.
It would be fun to have a blog party and see everyone's collectibles. I know you have a large collection of Hallmark ornaments...
Seen any good movies lately...I'm hoping to go see the new Star Trek soon.
Mama Bear
I read the questions Tuesday night and then totally forgot to answer/post.
I like your idea of posting positive things on FB. We all need the encouragement now I think instead of all the negativity.
It is easy to get down with all the kerfuffle going on. I use Pinterest to look at humorous photo's and memes with pets, kids and other stuff. That often improves my mood. I think a majority of Republicans have come around and are supporting Trump because they know Hillary will be far worse. Thanks for stopping by my blog and leaving a comment.
I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE that take a smile - I took one.
I can't stand Pokemon.
Time In A Bottle by Jim Croce - very meaningful!
Have a good one Debbie. Can i borrow the photo take a smile?
I love the take a smile picture. A friend of mine on Facebook apologized for posting pictures of his adorable daughter and I told him that I love seeing them and to post more. It's better than all the links to horrifying articles.
Still haven't let the boys do that pokemon go.
