1. January is National Mentoring Month. Have you ever had a mentor? Been a mentor? How would you rate the experience?
No I haven't been mentored or been a mentor.

I guess for me it is the Echo. I have no desire to talk to one!
3. I saw a cartoon on facebook highlighting a few 'weird' things that make you happy as an adult. The list included-writing with a nice pen, having plans cancelled, freshly cleaned sheets, eating the corner brownie, cleaning the dryer lint screen, and sipping coffee in that brief time before anyone else wakes up. (Credit for the cartoon goes here) Of the 'weird' things listed which one makes you happiest? What is one more 'weird' thing you'd add to the list?

Other than sipping coffee before anyone else wakes up I like them all. Not sure which would be my favorite. I don't like when plans are cancelled but I have wished that a doctor's office would call and have to reschedule. I would add in my PJ's waiting for Prime Time TV to start!

Well this morning (Tuesday) I had scrambled eggs with sauteed spinach.

I just noticed the one sentence thing:
It was the best of time!
I became a bride about three months before my 21st birthday in 1972. We bought a townhouse a few months before we were married. Those were happy times for me! I worked full time until we had the kids. We took several roads trips across the country. We had Adam in January 1979 when I was 27 and Amber in May of 1981.

Skye turned 9 years old on Sunday. Where does the time go. She had fun with a new toy we bought for her.... stuffing everywhere!!

Happy Birthday to sweet Skye! I have never really had a mentor either, but I have found a few through blogging. And I have to agree with you on the ECHO... I have no need for one and would worry that it is monitoring my every move and conversation!!

your answer on one and 2 is my answer. and the weird list is not weird to me. yesterday we were drinking coffee in bed at 4 am and I said, i feel so happy that i have a comfy bed, a warm blanket, hot coffee and you to talk to. that makes me happy.
in my 20's nothing made me happy or in my 30's either.
How fun to see that picture of you from your 20s. I want to dig out some of mine too, but they're in a box under a box (or four) so I need to feel motivated : ) Happy birthday to your little pup!

It's hard to believe that Skye is nine already! Time passes so quickly. Happy birthday to her, and I'm glad she enjoyed her new toy :)

I agree with you about the Echo - the gang here is convinced it knows your every move and listens to everything.

I got a Google Home for Christmas, and it's the BEST! I can find out the temp, the weather, or play music just by telling it to! :)
Is Echo one of those home assistants like Alexa? I don't see the need for that at all. Leaves me cold.
I like all the weird adult things except I'm indifferent about pens.
Yes, I'm with you on the Echo thing. I don't have any i-products so am not familiar with Siri but I gather that Echo and Alexa and those other gadgets are meant to do the same sort of thing? I don't like the idea of having a machine listening out for me speaking to it all the time. I can't even imagine what I would use it for in the first place!

Funny that FB calls these 'weird.' I love fresh sheets and sipping coffee. Dryer link? Now maybe THAT's weird!
Freshly laundered sheets must be nearly on the top! It definitely beats writing with a nice pen! I am just happy I can find a pen that works.

Happy Birthday Skye. You'll be happy to know that our furnace has been repaired. It wasn't too expensive. I don't care for the Echo either. I value my privacy, that is, what little we have left in this day and age.
SWMBO and I were married in 1972 also. I continue to be pleasantly surprised that she continues to put up with me.
