TUESDAY 4
(click to play along)
Welcome to another Tuesday 4 invented by Toni Taddeo and kept in memory of her. Keeping a home is what this week's 'home work' is all about. It can be fun and rewarding and an outlet for your creativity.
1. Are you an impulse buyer or do you weigh the value/cost/ necessity before you buy?
I'm going to say that I can be an impulse buyer but it has to be a good value. I'm much better than I use to be years ago.
2. What do you really resent having to pay for?
Cable, it is really expensive and I wish the prices would go down. I'm sorry but I do like having cable, I'm not sure I could live without it or my DVR.
3. Do you have favorite brands of household cleaners, detergents, soaps? Can you tell us why you like them? Maybe you will give us better ideas.
I guess I do have some favorite brands. I tend to pick products like Seventh Generation or Method because I want to do what is right for the environment and safe for me to breathe in. Of course I do wait for a sale before I buy them.
4. What is a typical day of housekeeping for you?
Not what it use to be. I use to clean house everyday. It was the OCD in me, however I can no longer do that because of my Stage 4 COPD and it does upset me a lot. Thankfully Mark has started to help out with some of it.
It will be better when we downsize because I feel guilty for not being able to do my job. This house is just too big at 3,200 sq ft. That's a lot of floors to keep clean, not to mention windows, blinds, furniture dusting, etc.
Those of you who read my posts on a regular basis and I read you regularly I have to say that I wasn't able to read posts for a few days and when I went on yesterday there were like 160 posts to read. That just overwhelmed me so if I don't read all of your posts please forgive me.

I guess I could be considered an impulse buyer but not as bad as I used to be. I go to the store with a list but usually buy more than what's on it.
Cable is a big expense and I cut mine. I now use an antenna plus I have a fire stick. I don't miss cable as much as I thought I would.
A typical day of housekeeping is full of procrastination for me.
I used to do a lot of impulse buying, but that eventually got me into financial trouble, so now I do really way up pros and cons before buying something. Which doesn't mean all of the impulse buying is out the door though.
Do you have a time-frame in which you want to downsize?
Hi Debby, I enjoyed reading your answers. I think I've gotten better in the spending area, too.
Have a great week! 🌻
I am cheap to the bone, practical to a fault, I weigh every purchase I make and drive myself crazy with the decision and then with buyers remorse after I buy it.... have never been an impulse buyer. what has changed is, my house was cleaned every day, all of it. now I just let it go. it is always picked up and neat but never the whole house clean at one time. I keep the clutter up but not the clean and I agree with you on cable, we can't live without it and the DVR but the cost is horrid.
Enjoyed your answers. I'm sure everyone understands about
your posts you couldn't get to read (too many).
Have a great day.
I think I'm less impulsive of a buyer than I was in my youth. Now I think "do I really need it" and find most of the time I don't. That is a lot of house to keep up even if you didn't have your COPD! Glad Mark is helping out some with it! Don't ever worry about reading blog posts; I said it before and I'll say it again; blogs are always here and will always be here. Sometimes we just need a break from them.
betty
Oh yes!!!!!!! How did I forget cable!?!?!? I get mad at that bill every month but I have no idea how to cut the cable!! I need instructions from someone that has successfully done it!
Cable is high, but the one thing hubby and I enjoy since we don't go out as much as we use too. Sorry about your COPD. Your health is more important. It was an adjustment down sizing but made house cleaning easier!
Like Sandra, I'm cheap to the bone! What drives me nuts is having to pay for air for a leaky tire. Seriously, paying for air; it's almost comical.
Cable makes me so mad - and they keep going up - I think to loyal customers they ought to keep their rates down - they give the good deals to new clients! Errrrrrrrrrrrrrr.
I spend way too much on Amazon!
We got rid of our satellite a couple of years ago and now we do streaming services...we have Sling, Amazon Prime TV and You Tube TV. I love it. Loved your answers! Have a nice week.

It is nice seeing you here. I think so many bloggers left this I rarely visit. Glad you are still here. :-) HUGS
Hello Friend,
I like Method as well.
I;ve had some problems commenting with Blogger the past week, not sure why, but better late than never.
I am glad you joined in :)
So sorry to hear about the COPD, prayers for your health.
Cable is very high and they slowly increase the rate month by month it seems. I turned it off.
Have a good rest of the week.
I'm running late this week, but I enjoyed reading your answers. Hope your week is going well! Blessings!
I tend to deliberate a bit before I buy things, but I sure have made my share of impulse purchases.
These days I mostly use vinegar and baking soda to clean.
