Thank you Joyce.
1. Last time you drove more than 100 miles from your home? Where did you go?
I'm thinking it was when we visited Amber and Dylan in Montana in March. It is a little over 1,200 miles and takes about 18 hours. We are actually leaving on Sunday for another trip to visit with them.
I'm pretty sure I mentioned this is a post after our last trip but I have problems breathing with the altitude in Utah. I've talked with two of my doctor's and there isn't much we can do right now to help with that.
So this trip we are trying something different. St. George, UT is at 3,000 ft. and Great Falls where Amber and Dylan live is also 3,000 ft and I do fine there. So instead of a 10 hour day and an 8 hour day of driving we will be doing a 5 hour day and a 13 hours day.
I seem to have no problem breathing in the car but will most likely have issues at the rest areas. So I will try not to drink too much that second day. I will now be driving too. Mark usually likes to do it all himself.
I will most likely not be around too much next week to read your posts but I should be here for Wednesday Hodgepodge. Keep us in your prayers.
2. Something that drives you batty?
I imagine you want this answer to be something about driving. I guess it is people who drive too slow in the fast lane or people who don't use their signals.
One thing that's been driving me crazy is the never ending doctors appointments. Finally Monday was my last appointment and all I have coming up are two phone calls with doctor's in August. Hooray!!!
3. Do you feel like you're 'on track'? For what?
Heck no, I'm never on track with getting the decluttering done. Hope to focus more on that when I get back home. Actually I just found this article while I was typing this.
And don't get me starting on packing for a trip. It gives me so much anxiety. I always take too much!!!
4. Your favorite car snack(s)?
Nuts, dried mango, protein bars and peanut butter M&M's.
5. Something you've done recently 'on the fly'?
I really can't think of anything other than after my doctors appointment on Monday I ran to pick up some things at Trader Joe's.
6. Insert your own random thought here.
Last Friday evening Adam and Gabby had us over for a beautiful steak dinner. They were thanking us for watching Gracie and James while they were gone. (What we did last weekend)
James and I built a tower with some of his Mega Blocks which was fun. Him and Papa also went out for another tractor ride.
Later, after we had our dinner he wanted to watch that Tractor Ted again about the carrots. So I went in the house with him and we did that. Mark, Adam and Gabby were outside talking.
So again, he wanted to eat a carrot like he saw in the show that I mentioned in my post on Sunday. Sorry, he's got a really silly smirk on his face here but he is eating another carrot. Sometimes he gets tired of me taking his picture...LOL!
Stop asking me to say cheese!!!

James is so cute, but how can you not take pictures of him? I love that he likes to eat carrots! Safe travels on your trip next week! That is a good idea on how you are breaking up the days but that second day is going to be a long one (of course you already know that). I know Amber/Dylan will be excited to see you and Mark as you are excited to see them! It is hard to know what to pack when going away for a period of time. I always take more than I need too, usually in extra outfits to wear that of course I don't wear!
betty
You have so much more stamina than I have, dear friend, and I commend you for it. I could never sit in a car for that many hours, lordy! I have a hard enough time going to see oldest daughter & her family, at 40 minutes! Please take good care and have a wonderful time... and don't worry about not blogging or reading blogs. We'll all be here when you return. Oh that darling SweetBabyJames!!! I could look at pictures of him all day! :-) ~Andrea xoxo
Smirk or not, he still is an adorable little guy! I hope all goes well with your trip next week. Adding you to my prayer list today, asking God to give you ease of breath.
He is sure a cutie pie. So I had a friend tell me on her trip out that way - she brought a couple cans of oxygen - that the campers use when they climb the mountains. Do you think that would help t all? Have fun.
He's getting so big! Have a safe and enjoyable trip. ❤️
Sending prayers your way .. I am so excited for you. I just had a conversation with my friend Bobby Jean who lives in Great Falls.
Say "Cheese James".. love the photo.

I have almost given up on the picture taking, unless I can snap some candid shots without having the boys pose. They are way too busy doing to stop and pose lol. Safe travels and I hope you breathe easy.
Lifting my prayers, as well, for travel mercies! Plan B sounds like a clever compromise; perhaps you'll be able to enjoy some different scenery along the way. Love the picture of James and his carrot!
I can't recall the last time I was more than 100 miles away from home. It had to have been a long time ago. I don't venture very far these days.
James is such a little cutie. I always enjoy seeing pictures of him.
Praying your trip goes well and that you can avoid the breathing difficulties. James is a cutie. It's getting harder to get the grands to sit still or smile for a photo this days, too. Your meal sounded yummy. Happy travels!
So interesting about the breathing though I have heard of that. I haven't been to Utah. Have fun visiting family. I'd love to visit both Utah and Montana. I live in Washington state. I make protein bites and those are often really good to take on trips. James is so cute...He looks like he's got a great personality
Love the pictures of James, and especially with the carrot. I thought maybe he was imitating Bugs Bunny! LOL. Your trip sounds wonderful, although the long day of driving sounds a bit much to me, but if you both drive it will help break it up. Praying your breathing issues will be very minimal by doing it that way. Enjoy your visit and take some pictures to share with us when you get back!! God bless you and have a wonderful time.
James is one cutie pie. I love that he wants to eat carrots while watching his program.
Prayers for a good visit and no difficulties with your breathing too.
Last time for driving over 100 miles was back in May for our Granddaughter's wedding.
I'm with you on the people driving too slow and not signaling in my lane.
